It's been two years since Felicity Overton opened up her event business. Now she is partnered with Jefferson in the event business and partnered with Jack in the detective business that is upstairs in the loft of the event business. My how things have changed. Jefferson is also her boyfriend and she rents a room in his house.They have two younger people also part time at the event. When a murder mystery birthday party actually turns into a murder, things start to get rather tense around both businesses. Jack is trying to get the detective business running as well as the event business and let's just say.....tempers are rather short and hot. Can Felicity get both businesses back on track before everyone's nerves get the better of themselves? Who will actually find out who the murderer really is and why? You will be surprised at the answers. I voluntarily read ARC of this book. The review is my own opinion.

What a Party! A great cozy who-dun-it and a must read book in a must read series!
How hard is it to keep two business running simultaneously, one with your present boyfriend and one with your ex-boyfriend in the same building. Well, that is what Felicity does. She and her boyfriend, Jefferson who she made a partner in her event planning business run one downstairs while Felicity and her ex-boyfriend, Jack started a PI business upstairs. That alone makes for a great storyline. But when you add doing and event for Jack's new college age girlfriend and you add a murder to the mix and you have some crazy twists and turns and the need to figure out who did it, especially when you young girlfriend could be the murderer. Of course, Jack who was a local cop before he quit his position to start his own PI Business, left a bad taste with his former Captain and ex-partner. So when his ex boss and former partner are assigned to the case, they are not to easy to deal and tell Jack and Felicity to stay out of the way especially since they are also on the suspect list. This 9th book in the series is even more fun than the previous books and they are GREAT too. This is a must read book in the series and the series is definitely a fun series to follow. The characters are real and you are left to feel like you know them or someone like them in real life. I received and ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

Felicity has been asked to plan a 21st birthday event for Penny, who is one of Brittany's friends. Brittany is dating jack, Felicity's ex boyfriend who also works with Felicity as a partner in her PI business. Penny opted for a Murder Mystery party and to make things more fun, Felicity and her gang of friends were also invited to the bash. All was going well until one of the guests suddenly keels over dead... and she was not the designated victim in the game. It seemed to make sense for the friends to let the police handle the case, but Jack finds it impossible to leave the case alone, especially as it was one of Brittany's friends, even though he was not in the chief of police's good books for having left the force previously. Someone had poisoned the wine, by adding antibiotics and decongestants to it, but everyone was surprised that Lilith was the victim, especially when there was someone else in the group with whom more people had grudges and problems with......

As you are all well aware of, I dislike lack of continuity in books. Now due to me reading the previous book recently, I recall that Jack was fired from the police squad. Now in this book it’s mentioned that he left the force… um being fired is not the same as voluntarily leaving the force to start a PI agency… I did like when books don’t stay on on track.
I did liked the the character development between Jack, Jefferson and Felicity. Jefferson and Felicity are getting their sea legs with their new relationship, while also getting used to Jack being in the same building as them. Jack does some reflection in this book and grows a little which allows us to get to know him a little bit more. I feel like Jack’s insecurity in his relationship with Brittany is in full display in this book, which makes him act irrationally and not as professional as he should.

An event company is a new set up. I like seeing new businesses in cozies. I knew who the murderer was early on, but I liked reading about the process of them discovering it.
There were times that the conversations didn't seem realistic. However, there were other times when they were very realistic because I had recently had conversations like that.
The relationship conversations were plentiful and at times too much. I was a little confused about all the relationships. It was explained early in the book, but I had no connection to the names in that paragraph, so that didn't mean anything to me.
Overall, it was a great quick read. I would pick up another one.

Felicity is now running 2 different business from the same building. She and Jefferson, now her boyfriend, are running the events business from the ground floor while she and Jack are running a PI firm from the upstairs. While they are doing an event for a local college, the friend of Jack's college age girlfriend is murdered. Everyone is a suspect. Jack and Felicity need to figure out what is going on. They also want to get their PI business off the ground and think that this will be high enough visibility to help with that.

Another great murder mystery! Felicity and her friends solve the murder, no mystery there. The group of fiends has grown and so has her companies. Now an event party planner and a detective agency. They discover that they must work together, not two separate companies, to make both a success. Many minds working together solve the crime. Relax with a warm cup of coffee or tea and have a good read.

Despite it's pedictable plot Murder Mystery Party, the ninth book in Susan Harper's Senoia Cozy Mystery Series, was another great story.
Watching Felicity, Jack and Jefferson gather clues and evidence to solve Senoia's latest murder is always entertaining.
Harper enlarges Felicity's circle of friends by 2 in Murder Mystery Party with the addition of newcomers Fix and Trixie. The more the merrier, right?

She needs notes
I've had a hard time with this series as the characters are supposedly approaching their 30s, but the "tone" given puts them between 18-25. In this book she rewrote history on why Jack wasn't with the police any longer and who Felicity thought the killer was. I think I read somewhere that this was a teen series and that might be why the characters are so immature.

Felicity and Jack are trying to get their P.I. business up and running. The Party Planning business run by Felicity and Jefferson is already a success. Both businesses come together when someone is murdered at one of their parties. This is always a very interesting series. Well written and very enjoyable.

Felicity, Event Planner/PI, has been hired to plan a murder mystery party. She and her assistant get everything set up and all is well until one of the guests dies. An excellent story that will hold you in its grip. Can you imagine attending a party like this.? It is quite a surprise, even tho it's not a surprise party...a good detective story that you will be sure to enjoy.

Wow what a read as usual. Murder and a bit of humour to go with it. Felicity has a hard enough time taking care of two businesses without murder happening. Awesome. Ready for more.
