Review at Of Pens and Pages.

You and me against everything else. You and me, no matter the obstacle, we face it together."

This is it. The last book. After that major cliffy in Cold, I needed answers. Will Levi and Ivy ever find their happily ever after? What obstacles will they face next? Fox was a balm to my aching chest caused by Cold, and while the third book is emotional and still heavy, especially at the first half of the book, there's hope and the growing joy that only love and loyalty can bring.

Levi proved his steadfast love for Ivy by becoming her strength at the moments where she had none. More than anyone, he understands what she's going through, the pain she's suffering. It was so heartwarming to see him stay beside her, lend her his shoulder and anything she might need, and most of all, he let her grief and move on at her own pace. And when Ivy finally found the strength to stand up again, she gives back. If he needs a helping hand or a shoulder to cry on, she's there for him, too. Together they have love, devotion, their experiences, and their loved ones to help them start again.

I agree with the other reviews that this book felt more like a huge epilogue for the two books, which is perfectly fine for me. Ivy and Levi deserve a break and some happy moments. In this book, it showed how they coped with the incidents that happened in Cold, Montana. With paparazzi and busybodies trying to get the scoop on everything Ivy Stone, it's hard to get on with their lives, but Levi, her family, and some special people back in Montana are there to help. This last installment is about moving on and starting anew, all the while honoring the memories of those they've lost. It's emotional, touching, and incredibly sweet.

The Stone Cold Fox trilogy was a fantastic rollercoaster ride I don't regret hopping on. It's gritty, mysterious, emotional, and hard to let go. Thank you, Max Monroe, for doing something new to your usual work (which I love just as much, btw) because I will never forget Levi and Ivy and the people of Cold, Montana.

Fox was the perfect ending to the Stone Cold Fox trilogy. We find out how Ivy is coping after that intense ending in book two. She’s not exactly in the best place, understandably, but with the help of Levi and her family things start to reach a new normal. Which is good because.... well you’ll have to read and find out. What I can tell you is that Fox really reads like a big juicy epilogue for this couple. This trilogy itself has been a bit grittier and more emotional than anything else I’ve read from this duo, and Fox is no exception. It’s emotional and deep, while still being a sweet romantic read.

Check it out May 20th, and until then read the first two books in the series!

PLEASE DON'T READ MY REVIEW IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE FIRST TWO BOOKS IN THIS TRILOGY!!!!!

The 3rd book is finally here.
And it starts right where we left them in book #2.

That idiot movie producer killed the cop sent to watch over Ivy and Camilla and then he wanted to kill Ivy. Which he didn't, but he got to Camilla.

And now Ivy and Levi have to deal with ... life. With everything 'after'.
And Ivy is not doing so great.

Eeeep - book #3

description

Finally!!!! It feels like years since we've read book #2 - even though it was just 4 weeks or so ☺
But now we're finally back with Levi and Ivy. For the final time!!!

And book #3 was just as amazing as the first ones.

It was not so much a real story - it was more of an epilogue kind of thing in my opinion.

We get to see how Ivy deals after what happened and how she doesn't do so well with everything.

And how Levi doesn't give up. He's with her every single second. Keeping watch. He's just there. Patient, Loving. Taking every insult and angry word she throws at him. He's just amazing. I would almost say he's too perfect in this third book. But what else is he going to do? Leave? He loves Ivy more than life and he just hopes that she'll get better with time.

And of course she does and then the next 'thing' or rather .. THINGSSSS happen! ☺
And Levi is even more supportive. He's just so perfect!

Amazing finale for this great series.

I think those three books could've been turned into only 2 with a few bits cut out here and there - BUT I really enjoyed reading it - it was an amazing trilogy.

Exciting. Mysterious. Hollywoody. Funny. Sexy. Moving. Sad. Sweet. Adorable.

Just amazing!

I really need Netflix to come and make a thing out of Levi & Ivy!!!!

FOX was an amazingly beautiful finale for this exciting & adorable & sexy & funny & moving & snowy Hollywood-Montana romance trilogy! Hurry to your nearest amazon asap - LEVI FOX will be sold out in no time!!!

Cold ended with one hell of a cliffhanger and I was dying to pick up Fox as soon as possible. I did have to wait a bit since I had other books to read before I could start Fox, but once I started reading, I couldn't stop until I knew for sure that Ivy and Levi were going to get the happily-ever-after that they deserved.

Fox picks up right where Cold left off. With the filming of the movie complete, Ivy moves back to her home in California so she can mourn the loss of her twin sister and Levi comes with, helping her to deal with the paparazzi and her grief. Ivy struggles with wanting to move forward, but at the same time she's rattled with guilt. Can Levi and Ivy's relationship survive this tragic loss or will their relationship fall apart?

The grand finale has finally arrived and I gotta say, I wasn't expecting things to go down the way that they did. Unlike the first two books in this series, which were filled with drama and plot twists galore, Max Monroe kind of toned it down in Fox and things took a much sweeter turn. Yes there were still some heavier moments as we watched Ivy break down and deal with her grief, but it wasn't too long until things started looking up for Ivy and Levi and all the shit they faced in the previous two books was now in the past. I might even go on a say that the second half of this book was rather predictable, but I loved it nonetheless. We finally got to see Ivy and Levi settle down and love each other and support one another. I loved seeing their romance grow and seeing them both moving forward after losing the most important people in their lives. This was such a good suspenseful romance series and now that all three books have been release, I definitely recommend y'all go binge-read them if you haven't done so already. With that being said, now I need to get to binge-reading Max Monroe's other series'. I've heard they are quite the riot and after the Stone Cold Fox Trilogy, I could use a good laugh.

Book 1: Stone ===> 4.5 STARS - one of my top picks of 2018!
Book 2: Cold ===> 3 STARS
Book 3: Fox ===> 2 STARS

I can definitely see the potential appeal of this entire series, especially this last installment which (if you don't have a jaded heart like I do) was both heart-wrenching and heart-warming. Unfortunately, for me, this story became WAY too obvious in its attempts to make me cry tears of sadness and joy. I felt manipulated (poor me, lol).

But if you're a big fan of emotional reads that tug at your heartstrings, then I urge you to start this journey. It starts off with an AWESOME bang!

The world wasn’t fair. It wasn’t fair at all. But sometimes…sometimes, it paid you back.

I have been eagerly anticipating the finale of the Stone Cold Fox Trilogy so when Fox arrived on my kindle I dropped everything and dove right in. It picks up immediately after Cold and the prologue is crushing. The first emotion I felt when I was devastation. I knew it would be an emotional ride and I was expecting heartache; however, I wasn’t prepared for how much happiness I’d feel as well before I even reached the end.

I adored Ivy from the beginning. She’s talented and puts her all into things. Caring and sweet to the core, she deserved to be happy, and when an unimaginable tragedy turns her life upside down, I cried real tears for her. Ivy’s vulnerability made her human, and the turmoil, guilt, and pain that consumes her felt so real that I experienced the emotions full force.

I caught myself just before the corner of my mouth could curve up. A hint of happiness, a glimpse into the past. The crushing blow of reality was almost soul-destroying.
I wasn’t ready to smile.
I didn’t
deserve to smile.

I can’t even imagine what she is going through and I wanted to take her pain away. She is so strong, though, and with the support of key people in her life she is able to handle the pain.

Somewhere along the way, I’d gotten lost in the floundering fight to be strong. But standing strong didn’t mean you couldn’t use the muscle of another person to do it.
And Levi had muscles in spades.

Levi is fantastic in this book. Swoonier, sweeter, and sexier than ever before and I couldn’t have loved him more. He is Ivy’s rock, providing unwavering support, and he proves his love over and over again.  I fell for him harder with everything does did and loved that we get to see how big his heart is.

From this moment on, I was a man at her disposal. I’d be her punching bag when she needed and her shoulder to cry on when she allowed. For her, I vowed to be anything and everything. Always.

Talk about a total swoonfest! I melted every time Levi was around. I couldn’t stop highlighting every sweet thing that ran through his head or that came out of his mouth.

Ivy Stone was my whole fucking world.
We’d been through so fucking much.
We’d had to deal with so much.
But one constant had always remained—I loved this woman madly.

Levi and Ivy hand over their hearts and give each other everything. They complement one another so well and I really enjoyed seeing Ivy and Levi work through the heartbreak together. They are a team in this book, a united force that refuses to let the tragedy ruin them.

From fighting to kissing to fighting and kissing.
From heartbreak and turmoil to love and adoration.
From absolute devastation to tiny miracles.
Somehow, someway, we’d managed to get
here.

Even though there is overwhelming sadness, there are plenty of fun moments with entertaining banter laced throughout to lighten the mood. The sexy time will make you hot and bothered, the sweet moments will make you swoon, the happiness and joy will soothe your soul, and their unending love will make happy tears fall from your eyes.

“I love you,” he whispered against my lips. “I love you more than I knew it was even possible to love someone. And every day, that love keeps growing. You’re my heart, Ivy. My whole fucking heart.”

Fox is not as angsty as the other books, but it was no less entertaining or emotional. There were twists that were jaw dropping and I experienced everything alongside the characters as the story took turns I didn’t see coming. I had trouble wrapping my head around it all and I felt the devastation, anger, pain, surprise, fear, elation, and so much more. The beginning will gut you but I loved that every part of this story slowly pieced my heart back together. I haven’t cried so many happy tears while reading a book in a long time. The feels are all over the place and I loved them all. It was perfect and my heart was so much more full than I thought possible when it came to these two characters. They’ve had more than their share of heart ache but in the end their life is beautiful.

Life had thrown us some serious punches. Some life-altering obstacles.
And there were days where it almost felt like too much to handle.
But life had also given us this.
These special moments.
These amazing people.
This sometimes chaotic and messy, but always beautiful, life together.
We were blessed.

Overall, Fox is an amazing conclusion to the Stone Cold Fox Trilogy and I loved it!

This is an interesting review for me to write. Fox is book 3 in the Stone Cold Fox series, and it "is* necessary for you to have read the other books first.

After the dramatic cliffhanger endings of both of the first books, this one felt almost too... pretty and fill-in-the-box, if that makes sense. There wasn't that big mysterious entity lingering in the background, I guess you could say. I don't know...not much that I will say anyway, no spoilers from this chickadee. Overall though, I enjoyed this jaunt from the normal Rom-Com that the Max Monroe empire has become synonymous with. They are a powerhouse writing team and even in this quick read it is evident they can go from heavy subject matter to the more lighthearted banter we are more used to associating with them.

The awesome news...there is a soundtrack! Hooray for Spotify and hooray for writers that know how obsessed some of us are with their whole creative process.

I received this ARC from the authors in exchange for an honest review and did let them know of a couple typos noticed. 3.5 stars.

I loved the first 2 books in the trilogy, they were different, they were darker than I am accustomed to for this author, and I really was drawn into them, the story and the characters.

As such, I struggled a bit with this one. Yes, it was dark. After the cliffhanger on the 2nd one, it is hard to go anywhere but dark for the beginning of this one. But, at least for me, I felt that Levi and Ivy were drug through the plot in this one, whereas in the previous 2, I felt like the focus was on the characters. And, I get it, there were some loose ends to tie up, but once that was done, I really felt like the focus, the thrust of the original 2 books was lost in the shuffle with this one, and that the book was plot focused, and that the characters were left just a little behind.

I did still enjoy it, although some of it was a little predictable, and I do recommend it, but I think I wanted more from this one than I got.

And, I can't really tell you why, as all of the things I wanted developed more through the characters of Ivy and Levi are things i wanted to see resolved from the first 2 books, and in that discussion, we have way too many spoilers for me to really address it here.

We were promised an epic conclusion to the Stone Cold Fox Trilogy, and we were given just that!

Like the two previous books in the series, Fox reveals an entirely different and unexpected aspect to Max Monroe’s writing style. Whereas the first two were more suspenseful that included shocking and unbelievable cliffhangers, this book showcases extremely raw and realistic emotions and delves into the heartbreaking turmoil of loss and despair.

Fox is a devastatingly poignant expression of love and hope. The story concludes the turbulent journey of two people who’ve suffered some of the worst tragedies anyone can endure in life, encompassing the true value of the meaning of life and love.

This trilogy came out of nowhere and, in my opinion, is the best work to-date by the authors. Fox had me in tears more times than I can remember, breaking and healing my heart at the same time. All it takes is to read the first sentence of this powerful story to know you won’t be the same after reading it. The unimaginable circumstances and struggles both characters experience makes their unique relationship that much more intense and passionate. This conclusion is one to be remembered and leaves a breathtaking impression of unrelenting loyalty and devotion.

Read this book. Better yet, read this entire series. Suspense, heartbreak, love, and acceptance overflows the pages of this emotionally impacting romance series…you do not want to pass them up!

5 Stars!

Fox, the final book in the Stone Cold Fox trilogy, gave me so much more than I could have hoped for, in the conclusion to Ivy and Levi’s story. After that heartbreaking cliffhanger Max and Monroe left us with at the end of Cold, I can honestly say I wasn’t sure what to expect from this book, only that I knew I needed Ivy and Levi to somehow make it through all the heartache in one piece. And well, I hoped I was going to make it through in one piece as well!

What a wild ride of emotions this book took me on. Definitely a lot more ups than downs, but my goodness! There were happy tears and there were sad tears. It really was the perfect conclusion to what has been such a truly captivating series. As Ivy dealt with the loss of her sister, Levi was her rock. Even when life threw an unexpected curveball his way, he stood strong for Ivy, giving her his strength, showing her that no matter what came at them they would weather through it together. And together, they did. From enemies to lovers, to becoming a strong and loving couple, Levi and Ivy endured so much to get to a happy place. While nothing will ever be the same for either of them, I loved seeing them lean on each other and share the burdens of grief. And as life moved on and they learned to deal with their new normal, I couldn’t have been more happy.

Levi Fox has firmly cemented himself as book boyfriend material. He made a good play for it in Stone and Cold, but after finishing the heart-wrenching and life-affirming Fox, I can safely say there’s no doubt about it, he is true bbf material.

4.5 Stars!!!

When I first started the first book in this trilogy I didn't know what to expect. I didn't know what I was getting myself into. But that's kind of the idea, right? For an author, or in this case, authors to surprise you. And boy did these books do just that. Twists and turns at every corner. Just when you thought you knew where the story was headed, BAM, you were left with more questions. Honestly, Ivy and Levi's story was such a roller coaster ride, but I wasn't stepping off for anything.

Fox was the perfect ending to the Stone Cold Fox trilogy. After the ending to the previous book I couldn't wait to find out how everything would end. And I sure as heck was not disappointed. Ivy and Levi's journey was not easy. It was an emotional ride, but the end result was all that rewarding.

I definitely recommend this trilogy

Phew . . . I just finished Fox, the fantastic third and final book in the Stone Cold Fox Trilogy and O.M.G. Fox picked up right where Cold left me hang— . . . err . . . left off. And took off running!

I was really impressed with how Levi and Ivy reconnected . . . that Levi wasn’t going to let Ivy go . . . that he was going to prove that he would always be there for her regardless of the circumstances. And god, Ivy. Man . . . she broke my heart and Levi helped put both Ivy and me back together.

The road to their “happily ever after” was not straight, it was windy and sometimes completely blocked. But, man, it was so worth it in the end. I loved my time with Levi and Ivy and Fox was just the perfect ending to their story. ~ Missy, 4.5 stars

4.5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is the final book in the Stone Cold Fox trilogy and in my opinion, it’s the best of the series. This trilogy is very different from any other Max Monroe book but different can definitely be good.

The first 2 books, Stone and Cold are very mysterious and there was so much going on. Fox is kind of the aftermath and how everyone moves on from the tragedies. There were a lot of feels in this book. Levi was so great this time around and you can really see just how much he loves Ivy. You also really get to see how strong Ivy is.

My only complaint is that while we do get answers about Levi’s Mom, it seemed kind of glossed over. I would have liked more in depth resolution of that.

Overall, I really enjoyed this trilogy and I loved this final book of the series. I highly encourage everyone to 1-click!

Fox nicely wraps up Stone and Cold. I feel like the characters had come full circle and I was happy with the ending but I also feel like Max Monroe took a gamble in writing Levi and Ivys story and I prefer their other work much more.

3.5 stars. Fox is the conclusion to the Stone Cold Fox trilogy and Ivy and Levi's story. In books one and two, I was engrossed by their love story and could hardly put the book down. They had a really delicious tension and connection to go with lots of angst and suspense in the story. At the end of Cold, there is a cliffhanger and a tragedy occurs. In this book, Ivy and Levi have to figure out how to recover from this heartbreak and move on to a happy life together.

I have to say this was my least favorite book of the trilogy. There is a totally different feel. It was missing all of that tension and suspense that kept me mesmerized by the first two books. While it took a little bit for them to start to recover from the tragedy that occured, the rest of the book felt like a long extended epilogue. There was no real climax and weeks and months are skipped at a time.

Ivy was heartbroken over the tragedy that occured and she took it out on Levi. It made it hard to recognize her as the character I had adored previously. She had been feisty but sweet, but she turned bitchy, argumentative and cruel to Levi. And Levi, who had been alpha and sexy, was now a kind of bland, overly indulgent and sweet guy. I didn't feel any chemistry between them anymore. I understood that circumstances had changed them but I liked who they were before more.

There are a few things I want to address but they are spoilers for books one and two, so...

Overall, though, I am glad that Levi and Ivy got the HEA they deserved after having been through so much together. I liked this book, and even though I didn't love it, I did really enjoy this trilogy as a whole. Stone and Cold were also both really good reads for me. This series was a different direction for Max Monroe and I hope they attempt more romantic suspense in the future. I look forward to more from them!

The final book in the Stone Cold Fox trilogy answers all your questions, eases your fears, and lets you see just what Levi will do to protect those he loves.

I don't want to go into detail because it would be super spoilery. And no one likes spoilers.

But if you've read the first two books, you WANT and HAVE to read this one. It'll tie up your loose ends, it'll set your heart at ease, and it'll make you fall in love all over again.

"God, this man, he was my rock."
In Book three of the "Stone Cold Fox" Trilogy tragedy strikes in the worst way possible and learning to cope with the guilt inside and the crushing loss is a huge obstacle that Ivy and Levi have to overcome. Ivy healed Levi in the previous books, now it's his turn to return the favor and become her biggest and strongest confidant. But in life when you reach the lowest of lows and hit rock bottom, you can only move forward and start repairing the broken with a whole lot of love, patience and adoration. From absolute devastation, slowly but surly, small miracles will help them recover and move forward, healing the scars on both their hearts... together they could survive anything. Such a touching a moving trilogy that has your head spinning with all the life altering situations but it keeps you addicted till the very end. 5 Painful Yet Soothing Stars for "Fox"... a love story about fighting hard for the one you adore and never giving up.

It seem like forevvveerrrr since we got book 2 Stone, even though it has only been a few weeks. I have been anxiously waiting this final installment in the series, biting my nails wondering what was going to happen.

WOW, Max Monroe, just WOW!

I knew this was going to be an emotional read after the way Cold ended, but boy oh boy did Max Monroe tear my heart out. My heart literally ached for Ivy, hurt for Levi and I just wanted to hug them and tell them it would all get better.

I also felt so much anger along with Ivy, I just wanted to throw my Kindle at the heads of people whom I felt were doing her wrong - and there were a few of them.

There were some really big WTF moments that completely blew my mind. I was totally not expecting them!

There were also some other things that I kinda guessed along the way, but didn't know for sure until it was revealed.

I adored Ivy and Levi even more than I thought I could after the first 2 books. They have wormed their way into my heart and found a place to live there forever.

Now I can't wait to see what this duo brings us next.

Max Monroe finishes up this suspenseful trilogy with an emotional ending dealing with pain, grief, loss and moving forward. Once again the ending of Book 2 left me in shock and reeling as well as desperate for the conclusion.

Ivy's world has been rocked and this time we have Levi stepping up to be the hero and let me tell you he is incredible. Of course we all got to find out through Books 1 and 2 how his pain has affected his life and how Ivy pulled him from his darkness. This time around the roles have reversed.

This book was sad, it was emotional and it was also heart warming and healing. I love how this story ends and I loved this relationship. These two came into each other's lives at just the right time and it almost felt like it was fated. I will tell you that I'm not a crier and damn this book had me on the verge. It really hits you in the feels.

Wow it's been a while since a series has captivated me like this one. To say I was shocked with how Cold ended would be an understatement. This book is so emotional. Ivy's adrift in grief and Levi is an absolute hero when it comes to her. I knew I was reading a book because he was certainly too good to be true. Levi's patience and love for Ivy overflow from the page. It's amazing to watch and even more amazing when Ivy can be there for him in return. This final part of their journey is wonderful to watch. And when they finally get some joy to celebrate it's even better. After all if there are two people who deserve a fairy tale it may be these two.

Fox is the final book in the Stone Cold Fox trilogy by Max Monroe, and the one we have all been waiting for, after that cliff hanger of ending in Cold.

We pick up with Ivy and Levy after those horrible events, and we watch as the story unfolds and everyone deals with the fallout of such tragedy.

I enjoyed this book, but it didn't pack the same punch for me as the first two did. I think because this one is more about moving on moving forward, rather than the intense connection between Levy and Ivy. For me, this was a much lighter read.

Don't get me wrong, its emotional in parts, but it lacked the same intensity as the first two books. I think it was written really well and in such a way that we could all deal with the characters and what had previously transpired.

Levy was fantastic in this book, if at times a little too easy compared to what we're used to from him. But he's exactly what Ivy needs, and one of the few people around her who can totally understand what she's going through.

There are a few little surprises along the way, one of the bigger ones was dealt with fairly swiftly, and possibly could have developed a bit more, but I understood the reasoning behind it being a cut and dry aspect of the book. The main surprise in this book, brings everything together really nicely, and is the perfect ending for these two characters and the perfect way to help them heal.

All in all I think this was a good way to end this trilogy and I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone. I loved this change of pace in stories for Max Monroe and I hope that they write more books like this in the future.

3.5 Stars - I need to start by saying that I absolutely loved the first 2 books in this series. They were full of suspense, passion, and tension. Furthermore, this series showed Max Monroe's versatility with their detour from the comedy that we're used to reading. That being said, I felt like this final book in the trilogy lacked that certain something that had me on the edge of my seat while reading the other books. Instead of building on the strength and passion they created in Levi and Ivy, their ending, while sweet, was lacking the fire I'd come to love in their relationship. After quickly moving the story through the fall-out of the cliffhanger in book 2, it felt like an epilogue. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed seeing Ivy and Levi happy; it was a long time coming. However, the story and characters seemed superficial in comparison to their beginnings.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Readers Copy of this book.

I was super excited for this book after the cliffhanger at the end of Cold. Upon having read it, I enjoyed it a lot but it was also a little bit of a letdown. Not majorly, but enough to only give it four stars.
Throughout the first two books, Ivy and Levi had all of this tension and anger as they were working through his past, and their past together. During that whole time, Ivy was this strong, confident, generally rational woman who I really respected and liked. In this book, she kind of went off the deep end. I can understand, after the events of Cold, why she is having a hard time moving on back to her normal life, but the things that she is asking for throughout this entire book are unreasonable. Also, her treatment of Levi is downright abusive, particularly at the beginning, and she turns around and blames her grief for her poor treatment of the world. It did not seem to be in character for her at all, considering who she has been up until this point.
Similarly, Levi has been this taciturn wounded hero throughout the first two books who hadn't dealt with his own past. This book, despite being titled Fox, had practically nothing to with Levi at all. He was constantly just giving in to whatever Ivy wanted, just to keep her happy or because she needed the coddling, while at the same time forcing her to recover faster in an effort to maintain their relationship. It just did not feel or read like the Levi who existed in the first two books.
Also, the entire book was not as cohesive as the last two were. Somewhere in the middle, other factors, such as the screenwriter, and dealing with the unexpected surprises that came with and after that, some good and some not so good, were seemingly unrelated to the rest of the story. I was okay with it because it moved away from Ivy being unreasonable and just mean, but as far as the story goes, it ended up feeling like three separate pieces as a result. This also left me with a lot of questions relatively unanswered, and more which were technically answered but had no substantial follow-up or explanation.
Despite all of those complaints, I did really enjoy this book. It was satisfying to see Levi and Ivy end up happy together. By the end of the book, particularly like the last chapter or two, they both had become the people that I am used to them being and were settled into their happy bliss together. Also, while I had some issues with the structure of the book, the writing itself was amazingly well done, as I have come to expect from Max Monroe. They did a terrific job overall of wrapping up this trilogy. It was more heartbreaking than most of their books, making it all the more impactful upon reading it. I look forward to more from them!

After the ending of book two, I seriously had no idea what Max Monroe had in store for Levi and Ivy in the final book of the series. I was hesitant to begin because I already knew that Ivy’s world was going to be rocked just as painfully as Levi’s was all those years ago when he lost someone who meant everything to him, and I just didn’t see Ivy being able to come back from that kind of loss, especially given the reflection that stares back at her every time she looks in the mirror.

Max Monroe illustrates Ivy’s emotional instability in a way that resonates from the pages. Ivy lives and breathes grief and guilt on a daily basis, not knowing how to heal her wounds or how to stop the pain and heartbreak from eating her alive, and even though Levi is ‘well-versed’ in trauma and loss and stands by her side regardless of the hits he keeps taking, Ivy’s still not coping well, even if she has no choice but to survive.

I love how steadfast Levi is throughout FOX. In the first two books, he seemed to be more of a wildcard than Ivy, which makes sense given the nature of why Ivy came to Cold, Montana, in the first place, but in book three, Levi’s strength never waivers…his love for Ivy stands strong. He refuses to let Ivy push him away; in his mind, it’s him and her against everyone and everything else, and it’s his protective nature…his strong shoulders…his knowledge of what it takes to endure that helps Ivy to cope…to heal…to live.

Ivy and Fox have both been through more trauma than most, so the fact that Max Monroe doesn’t create even more devastating circumstances in book three allows the couple’s focus to turn more towards coping and living instead of simply existing, and as long as they keep fighting together, keep moving forward instead of backwards, keep standing as a united front and healing wounds with love and comfort, they’ll get through it all and be the person who holds the other one together regardless of what comes their way.

Max Monroe’s Stone Cold Fox Trilogy is different than what their readers are used to, but the fact that they created such a complex, intriguing, suspenseful, and dramatic series - one that captures readers’ attention and never lets go, speaks to the kind of diversified writer Max Monroe is and proves that their skills are not limited to only sexy and comedic storylines.
