A Map to Destiny in Fortune's Bay

Rate this book

When small-town librarian Laney Lindstrom discovers an old settler's journal and map revealing the resting place of a historic shipwreck, she suspects she may be on to something big. To find out if she’s right, she enlists the assistance of Jack LaFlamme, a local college professor and underwater archaeology expert. Her first encounter with him leaves a bad taste in her mouth, but she needs his help if she wants to find the shipwreck.

Jack has been searching for the Livingston, an English merchant ship, for the last ten years without luck. When Laney calls his office asking for his assistance in locating a shipwreck, he wonders if it’s finally his time. After he arrives in Fortune’s Bay, he realizes he’s found not only a chance to find the ship, but a shot at love as well—if only he can change Laney’s mind about him.

Will the journal provide a map to their destiny—both in the history books and together?

Travel to Fortune's Bay from the comfort of your home and drink in the white sand beaches and crystal clear waters. The sun always shines in this fictional small tourist town in the South-West of Florida and soulmates always find each other.

This is a fun read about a couple who are both historically and marine minded. Laney is a librarian in Fortune's Bay. She uncovers some settler's account of a shipwreck in the area. She contacts professor Jack LaFlamme who specializes in Florida shipwrecks. After passing by each other in growing frustration, they finally meet in Fortune's Bay. They agree to hunt for the wreck. It seemed simple, yet the author shows the complications of two strong individuals who grow toward each other. It is a fine read and hope you may enjoy it, too.
