He likes her.
They say the third time’s a charm….

Hi, I’m Ryan Ringbloom, a Jersey girl who doesn’t write Alphas. I couldn’t if I tried. Social Media stresses me the frick out, yet I can’t seem to walk away from it. I love to binge watch TV. I think cats are awesome. I’m obsessed with coffee and Fireball. But never together. I am counting down the days until self-driving cars are the norm. And if there is ever a zombie apocalypse, I won’t even try to run. I will let the first one I see eat my brain and get it over with.

Whiskey Chick is notorious. A legend in her own right.

“I’m fluent in drunk.”

Adam Barclay, 29, is still telling the story two years later. But he might be entertaining family and friends with the filtered version.

Remi Kay, 30, occasionally lacks filters. She has been stumbling through life, but now she’s finally found her career calling and is on the road to adulting.

Told via their dual first person POV, I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about Remi since she was such a hot mess in the glimpses we got of her in her brother’s book, Whiskey Dick. But I ended up liking her, and rooting for her to get the one who almost got away.

I adore the fact that the author’s bio confesses that she can’t write alphas. Based off the heroes in this series, the regular guys are more interesting anyways. I really enjoyed the realness to them. It was far more enjoyable than over-the-top alpha-assholes. Adam seemed like a good guy. I just wish we’d have gotten a little more background on him. His narration was funny, even when he was stressed. Maybe even especially when he was stressed.

“It’s a five-point fix-up pentagram from hell.”

Despite the confusion, mix-ups, and fix-ups that plague this pair, I was swooning by the end. Adam sealed his fate as a sweetie.

“Forget dating, our tongues have just checked into a hotel that charges by the hour.”

Though entertaining as their “mating ritual” was, I do wish there were more detailed sexy times. This book seemed a little shorter than the first. But it was still an enjoyable and engaging read. I’m not usually a fan of bathroom-type humor, but it didn’t bother me here. I think because it was referenced rather than graphically depicted.

I was pleased when I reached the end and saw that The Whiskey Saga will continue.

While I thought Henry was kinda a douche in this one, I’ll keep an open mind because Remi worked out for me. Jenn was cool so I’m looking forward to her finding the one. And I gotta put in a plea for a sequel for Jax and Paisley. I’m dying to read about their next adventure in life. I need more books like this series. Seriously, I wish I could spend more reading hours with safe, funny romances like these.

Nothing good ever comes out of me and whiskey.

I swear I fall a little more for Ryan Ringbloom every time she gives me another book with even more characters to fall in love with. After reading Whiskey D, I wasn’t sure how I would feel about Remi. After reading Whiskey Chick, I’m not sure how I could not LOVE & ADORE Remi. She is an unfiltered blessing, and I love her. Her love interest... I also LOVE. I’m not going to say who, because I can’t recall if the blurb actually says who, and it’s fun to read this one blind. This story is sweet, it feels EFFORTLESSLY funny (which is funny because I’m sure the author worked very hard for real funny times), and it’s just plain good.

If you haven’t read this author yet, then Whiskey D and Whiskey Chick are a GREAT place to start. What are you waiting for?

My Rating:

4.5

Favorite Quotes:

“Don’t worry, they probably just saw me. On top of my bed. Doing a striptease. And they probably think I’m by myself.” First there was my questionable boner-hiding moment with my aunt and mom, and now this. “They probably think I’m up here doing some pathetic mating dance before masturbating.”

I look back out the window. My father and uncle sit by the fire and the rest are gone. I’m guessing they’re inside pouring bleach into their eyes.

My Review:

Another quick, engaging, and fun read from the delectable Ryan Ringbloom, which kept me smirking most of the way through. Remi was a hot mess, although, to her credit, she often tried, yet she just couldn’t seem to help herself, or keep a job, or maintain her focus, or find anything to hold her interest. Her social filter was missing, a condition that didn’t seem to bother her all that much except for that one appalling incident that had always caused her shame, she had been the blind date from hell after too much whiskey. Adam had never forgotten that date either and had recounted the story of the Whiskey Chick so often it had become a myth-like legend among his family and friends. Remi and Adam happened to meet up and square off again two years later with considerably better results, although there were complications, lots of humorous complications. The storylines were highly enjoyable and packed with colorful levity, steamy sensuality, and occasional bits of humbling angst. Ryan Ringbloom is good fun!

Two out of two! Both winners and who would have thought it!

I love any book that has romance, humor and no cheating or OW/OM drama. Those three are my go-to in fictional romances and boy does this one have it all!

Again, I have to thank my friend BB for referring it to me! Her review is awesome so check it out as I am too lazy again to write one of my own....

Yet another fun romance read. This is a companion to Whiskey Dick which follows Remi, the sister of Jax from book one. This is her unlikely romance with her friends brother Adam.

Remi and Adam met two years on a blind date that ended awkwardly for the two of them. After two years neither heard from the other until Jenn, Remi's friend, tries to hook her up with her brother Henry. In doing so Remi meets Adam, Jenn's other brother, and they rekindle.

Remi is a loud, obnoxious girl with a sweet heart. She made me laugh with her silly ways. Adam is a sweet guy with nothing but good intentions.

I loved reading about their unlikely first date and seeing them blossom into a beautiful relationship. Together they were like fireworks.

I enjoyed this read!

This is the next book after Whiskey Dick. It is a stand alone & follows Jax's (main character from Whiskey Dick) sister Remi.

Adam was set up on a blind date two years ago. When he tells the story he refers to his date as Whiskey Chick. She drank too much. And after the night was over she wasn't seen again- but the date makes for one hell of a story. Cue present day. Remi's best friend Jenn trys to set her up with her brother Henry. What Remi doesn't know is... Jenn and Henry have a brother. Named Adam.  Which Reminds finds out during a drunken night at Jenn's family cabin... so what happens when Remi and Adam come face to face for the first time in two years after their failed first date?

This book picks up shortly where Whiskey Dick leaves off (and you do get a little more of Jax).

Remi may be thirty years old and still trying to figure out her life. New job, new look, new best friend. And sworn off alcohol after the blind date disaster. She agrees a weekend trip to Jenn's family cabin is just what she needs. When she hears news from her brother that may put her out, drinking with her best friend is just what she needs.

This book was cute, funny, and even had a touch of cringe. Their first encounter may not have been what either was hoping for, but it was definitely memorable. And although I'm not one for the insta-love type relationships this was still a fun, cute read. 4⭐ out of 5⭐.

Remi...OMG...this chick is a hoot and a half. I was already a little in love with her kinda crazy from the few scenes of hers in Whiskey Dick, so I was more than happy to find this was her book. And it was awesome. Sweet, funny, awkward, sexy and with just a little dash of angst, Whiskey Chick is another completely fab Ryan Ringbloom RomCom read.

Light, easy, fun -- but I didn't love it! Probably just me, but I just wasn't into any of these characters. I'm in the minority -- most readers have loved it and the book has received many 5-star reviews.

Funny, feel good read!

Whiskey Chick is just as good, if not better than the first book, Whiskey Dick. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story. Remi and Adam are a perfect match!

** ARC kindly provided via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review. Thank you so much!

WHISKEY CHICK by Ryan Ringbloom is a second book in Whiskey Dick series. I think that it can be read as a standalone, as I haven’t read the first book yet and didn’t feel any confusion with this story. But after this fun time, I should get to previous one as well.

When I requested this book, I thought that it could be an OK read, something light and funny. But NO! I was so wrong. This was a GREAT and very entertaining 4 star read.

Remi getting all drunk on a first date was fun to read about. However, the scene where Remi and Jen got silly drunk was just so ridiculously stupid that I couldn’t stop laughing. What’s wrong with me? I was actually crying from laughing. I don’t remember when was the last time I had so much fun reading a book. And that was not all, there were sparks flying, steamy moments mixed with some disastrous moments, misunderstandings and the legend of the whiskey chick.

This was definitely a funny, enjoyable story and a wild ride. It was light on drama. It was kind of a sweet second chance romance, as their first date was a disaster. Then after a couple of years, some mix-ups and set-ups, they get a chance at a second date, which doesn’t turn out that well. However, giving up is not in their cards, so maybe HEA is still possible for them ;) This book saved me from the doom of reading slump for the time being.

If you are looking for a quick, light and entertaining read then this short and funny Romantic Comedy is for you. Just a perfect RomCom book. I can’t wait for Jen and even Henry’s stories. I liked Jen, Remi and Adam, hopefully, Henry will grow on me as well.

Loved this story. I liked that it took an atypical look at a bad date. While in other books this would be the horrid date that the future H or h comes after, instead we have a second chance romance that is both sweet, spicy and very funny. This book is the second in a series, and reads as a standalone. Overall, a great rom-com. *I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and this is my voluntary and honest review.

4.5/5

I met Remi in Whiskey Dick, and I must say she is really a character. She's Jax's twin and pretty straightforward. The only problem is that she's still lost, didn't know what to do with her life and still live with her parents. But, in Whiskey Chick, she finally knew what to do. She enrolled herself back to school, and found a new best friend, Jenn who wanted to set her up with her brother, Adam, and invites her to a weekend in their cabin.

What she didn't expect is meeting Adam - the blind date disaster she had years ago, the reason why she doesn't drink whiskey anymore.

The Whiskey Chick story is notorious in their family, and it has been retold countless times. Adam has a blind date years ago with this Whiskey Chick which ended up in a disaster. The girl drank too much whiskey and by the end of their date, she was already drunk, and I'll let you read the rest of this infamous story.

What Adam didn't expect is to meet this girl again! And no way her sister is setting her up with Henry, their other brother. He saw her first! And he was getting his second chance now, he wasn't going to let her go away.

I love that Remi is starting to put her life back together. Of course, it wasn't insta - she was still with her parents but is planning to move out soon, and her father is still footing the bill of her cards - but she has concrete plans now and she has Adam. Meanwhile, I like Adam as well. He might not be the favorite of the family, but he's nice and he's determined to get the girl.

It's short, uber-fun, sweet and fast-paced. Their first meeting might make you wince, but Adam made a really good speech and another version of his Whiskey Chick story that would melt your hearts.

I am completely in love with this series. If you want a break from all those heart wrenching, tearjerker books that breaks you apart, these two are REALLY GOOD breathers!

Although Whiskey Chick was too short for me (I NEEDED MORE BADLY), I had to give it the perfect rating because how the amazingly talented Ryan Ringbloom changed my mind on Remi Kay with her story. In Whiskey Dick, by the time that I had really met Remi, I can honestly say that I didn't care for her all that much, but Whiskey Chick completely had me under her spell. She's known as the Whiskey Chick, when a blind date went oh so wrong, but luckily, she hadn't seen that man since. However, as fate would have it, Remi becomes close friends with Adam Barclay's sister, so they came face to face again years later, and she doesn't know that she's the star of a hilarious story in his family. And it didn't just stop there, even more went sideways, as Remi's friend was trying to hook her up with her & Adam's other brother. So the laughs were on, as so many realistic situations happened, and not many authors make food poisoning that hilarious, so I found it hard to breathe with all my laughing. And the cherry on top of that ice cream sundae?! Adam & Remi were HOT together, so sexy times were on point. Again, I really wish that Ms. Ringbloom would make these stories longer, or keep on putting out more when it comes to Adam & Remi, and Jax & Paisley (hint hint) because I crave more badly! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

4.5 Hilarious Stars! Better than the first one in the series, this one has me laugh out loud on several occasions! Even the OTT moments were more on the funny side than being stupid!

Remi and Adam met 2 years ago on a disastrous blind date, which earned her the name of Whiskey Chick! While neither of them met again after that, both the MCs have often thought about one another! The Whiskey Chick has become an Urban Legend in Adam’s family but no one knows her real identity!

When the book begins Remi is close friends with Adam’s sister, who sets her up with their other brother, Henry. What follows next is a hilarious series of events as Remi spends a weekend with Henry’s family, bumping into Adam once again!

All the characters are endearing and yet, flawed in their own way! Since this is a part of a series it’s best to read this after Book 1…

Dual POV

Safe for me - Rémi has been set up with Adam’s brother but that doesn’t go anywhere . It looks like both the MCs have dated in the 2 years since they met but there is no mention of other people.

When reading this book the first thing that comes to mind besides humor of course is the song Every Day Is A Winding Road by Sheryl Crow to be honest this book reminds me of parts of the song. It relates to this book because of the circumstances, trials and tribulations this couple has gone through not to mention the pure humor that makes them relate to one another like none can.

Author Ryan Ringbloom brings so much more to a basic hamburger and fries like no other she takes it and brings new life to the plain every day iconic meal. She does this with her characters as well the plain jane girl with the take no prisoners streak brings this book to a happy scrumptious work of art.

I was so happy that the author brought this second book. If you haven't read Whiskey Dick yet then get to it. Fall is here and our comfy spots are awaiting for us to fall in love with Ryan's delectable new and old favorites.

Happy Sexy Reading

OMG! YES!!!

I freaking LOVE this book. I don't get much time to read but with this one, I found I was making time. When I couldn't make the time, I often thought about the story and how it would unfold. As a matter of fact, I woke up shortly after 5 on a Saturday just to finish this book. As I write this review (for the second time because I somehow lost the original while proofreading), I know my baby will be waking up within 30 minutes but the exhaustion will be worth it.

The humor is amazing. There's one chapter that I laughed almost the whole time while reading it. I think Remi and I could be BFFs. This is a MUST READ!

I absolutely love and adore Ryan and her books. Books, Blogs and Reality has been my favorite by her for a long time (and high up on my all time favorites) but I believe this one has passed it. Thank you Ryan for another FABULOUS book!

Whiskey Chick
Whiskey Dick, Book 2

I Picked Up This Book Because: Continue the series.

The Characters:

Remi Kay :
Adam Barclay:
Jenn Barclay

The Story:

Remi is a hot mess. But, she’s a mess that has finally found the right track. I found this book to be laugh out loud funny in some parts but I didn’t get the same engagement that I had with the first book.

The Random Thoughts:

Favorite Quote: “Don’t worry, they probably just saw me. On top of my bed. Doing a striptease. And they probably think I’m by myself.”

Even though this book is part of The Whiskey Saga series, it can easily be read as a standalone.

It was a nice, easy & flirty read. It was a bit on the short side, and light on the character development, but it was an entertaining and fun filled romantic adventure that was hard not to like.

So overall, I enjoyed passing a couple of hours in the company with the "Whiskey Chick", and had some very cute LOL moments with it.

Whiskey Chick was probably my favorite book out of the two Whiskey Dick books. Remi is the sister of Jaxson from Whiskey Dick. She killed me I loved her! And Adam has a small history with Remi...

This book. It was too funny and I absolutely loved these characters. Their story was so good I already want to reread it. Remi is definitely someone I could relate to since she was basically starting over with her life.

I loved the romance even a fast one like this. I loved Adam and I definitely enjoyed Remi. This book is one I am happy to recommend.

After reading Whiskey Dick, I did not think that much would top the entertainment value, but my word, this one certainly did. This talented author has penned another amazing tale which is light-hearted, fun, humorous, and with a tad emotional angst. I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and this author will certainly be at the top of my list for a romance comedy, and I highly recommend this authors’ work for all!

Whiskey Chick is now my favorite book by Ryan Ringbloom (so far)! Remi is so LOL hilarious - the things that she says and the situations she finds herself in make me want her as a bestie just so that I can save her and laugh with her all at the same time. I love how the author write a book that was so hilarious without being over the top and unrealistic - I could really see these things happening IRL. I also love how, once again, Ryan Ringbloom manages to bring the humor and the heat in such a short package! I can't wait to read another book by this talented author. They just get better and better! 4 out of 5 wine glasses.
