Everything’s coming up Daisy! Her residents are flourishing, classes are great, and she might even go on a date soon. She is 1000% over Ingrid. It doesn’t bother her at all that Ingrid has already moved on. Not even a little.
I finally got to read some more Giant Days and I can assure you I still love this series so much! I think I will always love this series and that it may have earned a special place in my heart. I recently learned that John Allison has a new graphic novel series coming out (that is not Giant Days) and I am so excited to give that series a try and see if I love that one as well!
SPOILERS AHEAD
In this issue of Giant Days, we see our friends facing some all too familiar adult life problems! Susan is facing the challenge of living in an apartment with super annoying neighbors (which if you have lived in an apartment or dorm you have definitely been in Susan's shoes at some points). While Daisy is facing Ingrid post break up. Things are going great for Daisy living in the dorm and being an RA however, she is seeing Ingrid around town and Ingrid has already moved on, or has she? When the trio attends a party and Daisy (dressed up as the best lion you will ever see) overhears a conversation she is not supposed to hear, it seals her opinion on Ingrid!
As I have said before because I am so far into the series I keep these summaries/ reviews/ spoilers kind of vague as to not give away too much about one of the best graphic novel series ever. I wanted to highlight some things I truly loved in this issue, for example, the costume when the trio went to the party! These costumes were amazing and Daisy as a lion was killer! I would literally get them in these costumes as a print and I really wish this was the cover of the issue. Susan's plague doctor costume was definitely a close second to Daisy's lion. Since I have already spent most of this review gushing we all already know I am giving this five stars on Goodreads!
Yes! Daisy has fully kicked Ingrid to the curb. Ingrid better not become nice and try to win her back. HATE INGRID! Also, when will Esther realize the life drawing model is her odious roommate Dean?
“why is there so much of her?” comment made me sad :( also esther’s costume was awful and i wish they didn’t put that in. this issue made me like her and the comic series less which is a shame...
I really need to keep track of these releases better! Great addition to the series with continued character dynamics. I’m just worried that it’s all going to be wrapping up...
This continues to slay me and be absolutely perfect. I love these characters, especially Susan and McGraw, and I cannot wait to see what happens next!! Also Esther and Daisy are too precious for words and I LOVE how Daisy stood up to Ingrid in this one and stood her ground. Fantastic, as always!
Err.. what? I think this is the first time I've ended an issue craving the next purely based off of the fact that #41 was flat, boring and did nothing for me. Fix offically not fixed. What is happening with this series?! I hope it doesn't stay like this..
I'll never grow tired of this series. I cherish each issue as the end grows nearer with every release. I'll be sad to see it go, but for now I will enjoy the shenanigans of these goofy uni kids until the bitter end.
I love plague doctor Susan and the adorable, supportive relationship between Susan and McGraw even though they are very indepedent people with very different hobbies.
