When Claire and Matt find the first clue in the drainage tunnel along with a dead body all kinds of things happen! Will the competition continue? Will Claire and Alyson join together to solve the murder? Will Claire and Alyson still be at odds and finish the Treasure Hunt with the prize being $5000 on the line? How is the murder connected to the hunt? or is it? Will the grand opening of Troy's controversial mall still go on? And what will happen when it opens? How will Troy handle the ribbon cutting? You just must read this 6th book in the series to find out! And of course there is a cliff-hanger at the end making you crave Book 7! The Annual Treasure Hunt in Eden Bay was supposed to be a fun event, which involved all the townsfolk, but it is a deadly serious event for most of the competitors, especially as this year's prize is $5,000. And deadly serious is certainly the word to describe it, more emphasis on the deadly unfortunately when a dead body turns up at the place that the first clue points to. Alyson and Claire, former besties are on opposing sides, both determined to win the prize for the Treasure Hunt and both determined to solve the murder as well. Unfortunately, when it comes to competitions, neither will stop at anything, including dirty tricks. But there is more than the Hunt at stake, a killer is also on the loose.

Another fun read from Stacey Alabaster. I do like how when the chips are down, Alyson's true self shows through, and there are certainly some bits that are not very nice. But Claire can give as good as she gets too, so it sort of equals out. I received an ARC and this is my honest opinion.

Being overly competitive can cause problems. The Eden Bay Treasure hunt is the event of the year. Practically everyone in the town participates. Each team is made up of two people and there are rules that must be followed. The event is 24 hours long. The object is to find a clue and follow the directions to the next clue. The event is immediately marred on the first clue. A dead body is discovered. But as soon as the site is secured by the police, the race continues. The hunt goes on with everyone still following the clues, but others are thinking about the death of Brett Falcon. Things become strange as the day turns to night and it appears that people are dropping out of the event. All the answers are discovered as they discover who and why Brett was murdered. A good cozy mystery, read to find the answers.

This book was so funny. It starts out with Alyson and Claire fighting, so they each needs a partner for the treasure hunt. Alyson chooses Troy, Claire has gotten Matt to go with her. However it wouldn't be a cozy mystery without a murder. Both teams discover the body in the tunnel at the skate park along with clues to the next stop on the hunt. Alyson goes on, while Claire and Matt stay and wait for the arrival of the police. So what is more important to the girl's, winning the treasure hunt or solving the murder? Ms. Alabaster takes us on a winding roundabout way to do both. You will need to read the book to find out the answer each of those questions.

Treasure hunts can be fun or murder. What happens when you combine two super competitive women in a race? Murder and mayhem, of course. Competing against each other to win the treasure hunt, Alyson and Claire almost ruin their friendship. Oh, and finding clues to how and why Brett was murdered was also part of the competition. Will Eden Bay ever be the same. So much is changing and mysteries surrounding the new mall abound. Cannot wait for the next book to see how everything plays out. Could Alyson possibly run for Mayor? Would anyone vote for her if she did? The truth is yet to unfold.

Claire and Alyson, best friends have had a falling out. So instead of being partners on the Scavenger Hunt, they pick different partners. At the first clue, a body is found. So they try to outdo the other and solve the murder first. This is a fun series and is told from the perspective of the two main characters.

Not a fan of the book or series. Tried to like the book, wanted to like the book but that is honestly not going to happen. Giving up on the series. The best friends relationship of Claire and Alyson just didn't work for me in the believeability department. Given their almost constant bickering the best friends label is too far of a stretch for me.

I love Alyson and Claire and matt and can't wait to see what they get into next if you love a great cozy with characters you will love and a story that keeps you turning the page then this one by Stacey Alabaster is a must read

Loved it, kept you on your toes. Alison and Claire are at odds with each other, partnering with unexpected characters while trying to solve a homocide and the annual treasure hunt.
