After reading “Crescent City” and trying to get over a major Book Hangover I decided to give “Throne of Glass” another go. But this time I started the series with the novellas “Assassins Blade”.
I must say though I love Feyre and Bryce , Celaena has become my most fav SJM protagonist.
TOG is a series you save up and give your kids to read when they are old enough. Celaena is someone you want your girls to grow up with.
She is fierce and brave and loyal to a fault. Where the story in the beginning shows how she is hiding her true self and running from her destiny, you will also see how fiercely she loves her friends and would do absolutely anything for the people she cares for, for the people she chose as her family.
The series is addictive, adventurous and thrilling. It kept me on the edge of my seat and “One more Chapter” or “One more page” has never been more realistic then while reading TOG.
The story is packed with amazing characters, and as soon as you find a favourite character, BAM another one drops in. I couldn’t choose between the whole gang. I love them equally.
I don’t want to get into the plot as you need to get in blind to truly appreciate and fall in love with the world of TOG.

Five stars because I can’t fault this series, at all.
I could NOT put this series down from the moment I started it.
I started by reading Assassins Blade first, as it was how it was listed on Maas’ website and I was so pleased I did, as she integrated the themes and characters of the book throughout the series.
Celeana Sardothien is a total badass character, and I’d have to say the best assassin character I’ve read. Her character grows and develops throughout the series, and so many other fantastic, diverse, and interesting characters are introduced as the series progresses. I don’t remember the last time I read a series with so many LOVEABLE characters.
Not only were the characters all so interesting and the writing style so enjoyable, but the author planted so many surprise ‘omg’ moments that I was constantly interested. All the loose ends and mystery characters that were introduced had their stories neatly tied up and it was so satisfying.
I don’t want to give away any spoilers, but I heartily recommend this series to all fantasy lovers. There is also plenty of slow burn romances, and a few squeal-worthy ‘smut’ scenes scattered throughout.
Can’t believe I haven’t read this sooner!

I have to review these as a whole because there’s no way to separate them from one another once you’ve read them all. Maybe I should’ve reviewed after each book but that would’ve required slowing down…

The first two books were slow for me, but my love for SJM and knowledge of how she likes to world build kept me going. By book 3, I was hooked. Empire of Storms? WRECKED MY SOUL. Honestly one of the most incredible books I’ve ever read and arguably my favorite of the whole series. Tower of Dawn is SEVERELY UNDERRATED and I loved it. And Kingdom of Ash had me crying every few chapters.

“You cannot pick and choose what parts of her to love.” He pitied Chaol, he realized. His heart hurt for his friend, for all that Chaol had surely been realizing these past few months. “Just as you cannot pick which parts of me you accept.”

We hate to love Chaol and I LOVE to see a redemption story.

“Even if I had my choice of any dream-realities, any perfect illusions, I would still choose you, too.”

Rowan…. Arguably the best of all of SJM’s “territorial male bastards”? A love story to keep you begging for more and dreaming of Rowan and aelin living peacefully.

Manon… I hated her then loved her and “Live, Manon” CRUSHED ME. Also…”till darkness dies”?? Like WHY IS SJM SO QUOTABLE!?

I’m rambling. Ultimately freaking read this series and if you don’t love it there’s something wrong with you.

For my smut readers: spice is like a 1 but she was also a child when she wrote this and STILL nailed the slow burn sooooo.

This book is just magic . Mass has once again outdone herself and I just can’t get enough every book has a completely different plot following the same outline of the story and that is one of the most daring qualities in a writer . From Aelin Galathynius Asryver to Celaena Sardothien to Aelin Galathynius again , the journey of this assassin-Queen is just addicting to the point of isolation. I recommend this to all YA fantasy lovers and even those who don’t read this genre . Try it and fall in love with Mass’s writing and enter a new world full of faes and magic and politics and love .

I just finished reading this series for the second time the other day, and I am totally in love with these books. For a second time read, I was just as engaged and hooked in the series as the first time I read it. I was on the edge of my seat waiting for the next plot twist even though I already knew what happened. The characters have such strong personalities that make it very easy to fall in love with them, and the plot never becomes boring or repetitive. The Throne of Glass Series is one of my all time favorite series, and I am already finding myself reaching to read them again.

This is the type of genre I like to read. I love magical creatures set in a time not like today, lands, castles, etc. I know I like to read teen like books, and I should expect the main characters to be young, but it's hard to believe that a 19 year old to have done so much. I could believe it a bit more if she was even 25. It was good, and I did hurry to purchase the next book, but I would not rank it in my top favorites.

I’ve just finished re-reading the series in preparation of Kingdom of Ash.
I am so glad I did, so many characters and plot twists I had completely forgotten about! Major ones too. I have no idea how I could have forgotten most of them.
I’m so excited now that everything is fresh. Can’t wait to start.

I read this whole series and I LOVE everything about it. It was so amazing to go on the journey of the main character changing from one character to a different one in each book, until she finally becomes who she needs to become. I loved seeing the transformation she went through and the story line that follows.

While it took me a little to get into this series and there are parts that weren’t my favorite (as well as some of Sarah’s writing) overall, this is one of my favorite fantasy series I’ve ever read. I just fell in love with the characters and the world is so full. I went through so many emotions reading this series and I loved it so much.

Aelin is my favorite character of all time. Her journey of finding herself truly healed something in me and it felt like we were taking that journey together. Aelin is the standard and she changed my entire outlook on life. I love Aelin and Rowan with everything in me and the cadre is like a found family.

One of my favorite fantasy series: It had memorable characters, a thrilling plot, a heartbreaking backstory, and a beautifully uplifting ending. What's not to love? (I reviewed each book separately on their individual pages where I go much more in-depth.) ^_^

An intriguing set of novels. Even though it is considered a YA series I would not recommend to anyone under the age of 17 or 18 due to adult relationships and interactions that really could have been left out.
