When Skye Fargo, The Trailsman, stepped in to save Charity Keller from a bullet's deadly path, he didn't know this fiery-tempered, sensuous lady would soon be leading him on a fool's errand into the heart of Comanche country.
But with gunslingers hot on their trail, and Charity's urgent need to find her father before the hired killers did, there was nowhere for Fargo to go but on. And when Charity agreed to pay Fargo in a currency far older than coin, how could he turn her down, even if it meant riding straight into a war party of bloodthirsty Indians...
An early Trailsman book. Skye Fargo is hired to escort a woman named Charity into Cherokee nation to find her Father. Throughout the journey they are attacked by bounty hunters and dangerous Cherokee warriors. A lot of action and other adult themes (this is an adult western). Good dynamics between Fargo and Charity as they initially distrust each other and grow closer as the story continues. The ending was a lot of fun and action-packed. I believe Jon Messmann wrote this one as he is usually credited for the early Trailsman novels.
