Gabrielle Williams has done the impossible. She pierced the Veil, entered the Beyond, and located the long-lost leader of the Echo Team, her husband, Cade.
But the world they return to is not the one they left behind. All they fought for, everything they sought to preserve through their sacrifices, seems lost. As they struggle to find familiar faces in an unfamiliar world, one question burns in the forefront of their thoughts.

In reading this series I discovered that a group of angels is called a scream. You know what else is a scream?
The sound I made when I realized that this was the last book released, it’s not the end of the series, it’s a cliff hanger, and I have no idea when the next book is coming.
I was bereft when died, and utterly wrecked when I thought we had lost . What, Cade gets his wife back (not a spoiler, in the book blurb), but loses everyone else? I have a heart condition, I should not experience this much stress.
I’ve been burning through these at the rate of one every day and a half or so, and to get to this point and not have access to the next installment is making me twitchy. I’ve clicked “follow author” buttons and set up account alerts for when the next book drops.
All of this to say, although your heart will break with each cliffhanger and each death, if you’re not reading this series and you’re a urban fantasy fan, you NEED to be.
The material is exemplary, and the story and characters are very engaging, as I’ve come to expect from this author. However, there is a problem with the editing. It is as if he used speech to text, didn’t proofread it, and used the first version. Words are misspelled, or a similar word or phrase is used, which has a different meaning. Occasionally, this will happen in any book, but it was consistent throughout this book, which hasn’t happened in his prior installments of this series. It is very distracting from the book content, in my opinion. This is the only reason I gave him less that a five star rating.
Love this series. Been waiting awhile for this book and it doesn't disappoint. Cade and Gabrielle come back from Beyond and the demons are in charge and the Templar Knights are beaten down to a few renegade troops fighting a guerilla war against the Seven and their demon troops. Wow!
This story is getting better and better! The author is not afraid to kill off characters and doesn’t sugar coat the vile acts of demons. It’s a straight forward book with a great story line. Cade and Gabrielle find themselves back from Beyond only to discover way more time has passed than anticipated. But it’s def not over yet.
Can't believe it! Reily survived, I'm sure with the help of Uriel of course. Proof reading in this book could've been better. Another action packed chapters & the highs & lows of hardships in every chapter. On to book 8, come along for the ride of your life in this series.
