Switched at Birth by Christine Rimmer is a 2019 Harlequin Special Edition publication.

A light and lovely love story!

When Madison, a popular, well recognized movie star, discovers she was switched at birth, she needs time to process and adjust. She moves to Valentine Bay to be near the Bravos, but she keeps her distance from them, trying to screw up the courage to meet them face to face.

Meanwhile, Madison takes every precaution to keep her identity a secret. She also lusts after her buff neighbor, Sten Larson. She even devises clever ways get him to come over to her place. But, as nice and protective as Sten is, he keeps Madison at arm’s length, knowing that under the circumstances they couldn’t possibly have a future together.

I’ve been tapping my feet impatiently waiting for Madison’s story. I was curious to see how she would respond to the information about her birth family. This part of the story was handled beautifully, as most anyone would have felt intimidated by the Bravo’s and meeting a family you never knew you had. Sten’s gentle encouragement helps Madison make those first tentative steps towards her new family, which she definitely needed.

The romance is very light, sensual, and sweet. The chemistry between Madison and Sten is palpable, slowly building as they spend time together. The romance between an ‘ordinary guy’, with a blue-collar occupation, and the glamorous movie star might seem destined to fail in the long term- but when there is a will, there’s a way, and true love always conquers all.

This is a truly romantic story, but part of what makes this story so special, is the beautiful HEA, which has a touching long-term love story quality to it. I closed the book with a dreamy sigh and a big smile on my face.

This book is yet another reminder of why I never want to miss one of Christine Rimmer’s wonderful stories.

Madison Delaney is a successful actress who has won an academy award. She is known as America's Darling. Then her world tilts on an axis when she finds out she and another baby were switched at birth. So now she is in Valentine Bay to connect with her real newly discovered family. But she is hesitant to make the connection and keeps putting it off. She meets the handsome Sten Larson and is attracted to him but resists his attempts to pressure her into meeting the family before she is ready. Though Sten is convinced the romance can go nowhere given that she is a big tie movie star and he is happy in Valentine Bay, Madison insists it could work. But is he prepared to take that chance after a failed relationship in his past?
I deliberately chose this book as I wanted a light bit of fluff after two emotional reads. It started okay letting the words flow around me like water. But then it got repetitive and just went on too long. I started to lose interest and started to skim. As for the sex scenes, I skipped past them. Not interested in reading all the details.
So just an okay book that never reached any great heights. There are going to be readers who will love it. But let’s just say, in the end, not for me.

Wonderful entry in the Bravos of Valentine Bay series. I have been looking forward to Madison's story ever since the switch was revealed in Almost a Bravo. Unlike Aislinn, who had her whole family there to support her and help her through the crisis, Madison was alone. The family had been trying for months to get in touch with Madison, but have been stonewalled by her agent and assistant. They finally reached out to their cousin Jonas (The Bravo Billionaire) who was able to gain access to Madison's home.

Madison woke up on her birthday, ready for her tradition of setting her goals for the next year. Though she thought she had no idea what to put down, she was stunned by the goals her subconscious revealed. Her contemplation of those goals was interrupted by Jonas's arrival. Her world was completely upended by the news of the baby switch and what it could mean for her. Within a week she found a beach cottage to rent in Valentine Bay, where she could lie low, think about her plans for the future, and work up the nerve to meet her unknown family.

Madison's next door neighbor and owner of the cottage was Sten Larson. Sten shares his home with his father, widowed sister, and her son and daughter. I loved his close relationship with them all. His sister's teasing and "guidance" are spot on, and received with the expected appreciation . I especially loved seeing him with his niece and nephew. They were adorable, and it's obvious that he'd make a great father.

I loved the development of the relationship between Madison and Sten. It was cute to see how Madison watched him from a distance at first, believing that he was married and a dad. She was drawn to him but thought he was off limits. Once she discovered he was available, however, she was determined to get to know him better. She was a bit creative in her method, but it did get him to her house. It was fun to see how amused he was, but he was also intrigued. Once he found out about her connection to the Bravos, he tried to encourage her to take that final step and get to know them. I ached for Madison because she was so nervous and stressed over the idea. It created a little strain between her and Sten because he would sometimes push a little too hard. I loved the time that she and Sten spent together doing ordinary things, and how it reinforced her decisions about the changes she wanted to make in her life. The more time they spent together, the more the attraction and connection deepened also. Madison fell hard and fast for Sten, but he fought his feelings all the way. He had been badly hurt in a past relationship, and it affected the way he looked at what he and Madison shared. I wanted to shake Sten at times because he refused to see that Madison was nothing like Ella. I hurt for Madison and loved how she didn't give up on him. The ending was sweet and emotional as Sten finally broke free of his fears. I adored the epilogue with the look at their future.

I loved seeing the other side of the switched babies story. Aislinn had such a hard time dealing with the news that I wasn't sure how it would go for Madison. Her initial shock was understandable. I liked that it didn't take her long to accept the truth. The hard part for her was taking that final step to get to know the family. Though Sten pushed a bit hard, he also believed that it was something she needed to face sooner rather than later. He offered her all the support she could want. I loved the first meeting between Madison and her siblings. It was especially neat to see the closeness between herself and Aislinn. There was an interesting twist involving one of her brothers that makes me very anxious to read his story.

Switched at Birth is the fourth book in Christine Rimmer’s The Bravos of Valentine Bay series. We were first introduced to Madison Delaney in Almost a Bravo (The Bravos of Valentine Bay #2) where we discovered she had been switched at birth with Aislinn Bravo. I had developed an opinion of the character back then and boy was I wrong. I loved Madison and her desire to set goals and change her life based on those goals. She wasnt a typical Hollywoodite, and I liked that about her. She was down to earth and knew she needed to change her life even before she discovered she’d been switched at birth and was now a part of the Bravo family.

Sten Larson is the guy next door. He’s strong, caring and loves his family and he knows the Bravos. He’s been hurt by a past relationship and that baggage carries through to him and Madison. Sten does his best to guide Madison towards her new family. When Madison’s true life gets in the way, she realizes that she doesn’t want to drag Sten and his family into her chaotic lifestyle. Will she walk away from Sten and her new family? Will Sten put his past behind him?

I absolutely loved Switched at Birth and couldn’t put it down finishing it well into the early morning hours. This is a standalone book, but I also suggest reading, at least, Almost a Bravo to learn about some of the backstory. The entire series is well worth your time. I’d like to disclose that I received an advance copy and it was my decision to read and review it. This is my honest opinion. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

I loved this latest book, it's the 4th in the Bravos of Valentine Bay series. I have been waiting to read Madison's story and I wasn't disappointed. Madison Delaney a famous Hollywood actress and Aislinn Bravo were switched at birth. This book can be read as a stand alone as well as a continuation of the series.

Madison is informed on her 27th birthday by a neighbor and unbeknownst to her a Bravo family relative, that she was part of a baby switch. He gives her a memory stick that includes the names and phone numbers of her Great Uncle Percy and Great Aunt Daffodil as well as her four of her brothers (there is a fifth brother but he has been missing for years), and her four sisters which also includes Aislinn.

Madison is considering giving up acting when her next two contactracts are fulfilled and so she decided to rent a cottage and ponder what to do with her life as well as to eventually meet and get to know her new family. She travels to Valentine Bay, Oregon where she has rented a cottage in Sweetheart Cove from owner Sten Larson. Sten, who works with his dad in the family owned business named Boatworks, is also a house flipper. Also living in the same house which has two fully contained levels is Sten who has his own space and his dad, sister and her two children who share the lower level of the cottage next door.

She had requested privacy when renting the cottage because of her celeberity but she is accosted by Sten's Niece Colleen (Coco) who recognizes her from a Disney movie in which she played a princess. The two bonded immediately. Sten came to "rescue" Madison from his niece and nephew. There was an instant attraction between the two. Madison had seen Sten working in his workshop next door and was interested to learn more about him. She purposely broke the chain in her toilet so that she could have him come over and take a look at it. It worked! That was the beginning of a budding relationshiop.

As their relationship progressed Madison told Sten the real reason that she was in Valentines Bay and that she was apprehensive about meeting them. Sten explained to her that he and his family knew the Bravos and that he and his sister Karin had gone to school with two of the Bravo siblings. He told her that they were good people and that she should not put off meeting them.

After meeting the rest of Sten's family Karin, his widowed sister started matchmaking the two. Sten liked Madison a lot but he was hesitant to take the relationship further because of a recent breakup that ended badly. They decided to have a relationship but only as long as she was in Valentines Bay which was about a month's time.

Madison finally gets the nerve to meet her family and so she goes to visit. The entire family converged all at once to meet her and she was a little overwhelmed but in a good way because these were very nice people. Madison had been all along because her parents who raised her were both now deceased. She learned that her natural parents George and Marie Bravo were also deceased but she had many siblings, nieces and nephews and her Great Aunt and Uncle.

Madison and Aislinn bonded immediately because of their shared experience. Aislinn was now married to Jaxon who turned out to be the adopted son of the man who actually switched them at birth. She and her husband lived on the farm where the switch occured and she invited Madison for dinner. At the dinner Aislinn showed Madison the around the house and in particular the place where the switch took place.

There is so much more to this story and I am sure that you will love reading about how it unfolds. The Bravo family is a wonderful close knit family. I am looking forward to reading the next brother or sister's story. Read Switched at Birth. You won't be disappointed.

Madison Delaney is dealing with shocking news. She was switched at birth and the parents who raised her weren’t her birth parents. She has a large extended family she knew nothing about, until now. She decides to take a break from her successful movie career to come to grips with the news. She meets Sten Larson and they connect, but Sten has trouble trusting in a relationship.

This is a read that delivers everything you expect to find in a romance book. It kept me entertained to the end. If you are looking for a light romance to pass the time this is for you. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

Ever since finding out Madison Delaney is really a Bravo I have been waiting to read her story. I was not disappointed! At first I thought she was too wishy-washy, but after she deals with everything that had happened in her past, she drops the Hollywood persona she has been hiding behind and puts her Bravo on and goes for what she wants. It was a delight to watch her adjust! Thank goodness for Sten Larson who manages to overcome all his internal ojections to reach for happiness for them both. Cannot wait for the next Christine Rimmer Bravo book.

Imminently readable, but ultimately extremely shallow and boring. This is no friction in any part of this story: between Madison and Sten, or between Madison and her heretofore-unknown-but-newly-discovered family of the Bravos. There's some manufactured drama to necessitate the final chapter split and Grand Gesture, but there was never any doubt that the romance was going to keep following the tried and true formula.

There was so much potential for this book that was never realized, which is very disappointing. Instead, it is a completely brainless and mindless read. Which is fine, but not exactly what I was looking for.

Madison Delaney has had a perfect life for the first 27 years. She followed her dream and became "America's Darling" and has a great acting career. Then came the news that she had been switched at birth and goes on a quest to meet the family she never knew she had. Add in a hunky neighbor and his adorable niece and you have a great story to read. I really enjoyed Madison's quest to find out who she is and to find the family she always wanted.

This is first novel I've read by Christine Rimmer and I enjoyed it so much. It was fun to see the life of a movie star and how that is impacted by discovering such a big secret. I liked the interaction between the characters and I am looking forward to reading the other books in this series.

Another great read! Madison Delaney finds out she was switched at birth and the parents who raised her are not her real parents. She decides to travel and find out she has a huge extended family. There she meets Sten Larsen. He has definite trust issues when it comes to relationships. This was a great read and a wonderful romantic story.

I would divide the book in three parts. The first four chapters were really entertaining, especially Madison's personality was the great factor, she's quirky and funny and even if she's a famous actress she's down to earth, she's very likeable. Then we have the middle part, when it's been two weeks since she arrived at Valentine and just a week and a few days since she made real contact with Sten and she's thinking she loves him. That was the moment the story let me down a little. I might have believed that if it was at the end of the almost four weeks in which the story takes place. From there on, the building of their relationship was a bit dull, for me. Even if Sten has his own POV, I honestly didn't feel his presence in the book so much. His insecurities annoyed me. Finally, the story picks up towards the end. Mainly, because Madison says the "L" word and Sten's a chicken. Like I said, I truly liked Maddy, even in her inexperience with men she knows how she feels and what she wants and goes for it. The piece of drama made the last chapters interesting.

Christine Rimmer knocked it out of the park with this book and I was hooked from the beginning and I felt like I was a part of the Bravos. Madison Delaney is having an epiphany on her 27th birthday and realizes she wants a “life “ which includes retiring, losing her virginity and falling in love. While she is pondering this Jonas Bravo comes over and tells her she was Switched at Birth. She decides to rent a beach cottage in Valentine Bay while she gathers courage to meet her family. She is intrigued by her landlord Sten Larson but she thinks he is married with children. Coco and Ben come over to her one day because Coco thinks she is Princess Eliza. Sten goes to get his niece and nephew from her because he had to sign a NDA to rent the beach cottage to her. He tells her Coco and Ben are his sister Karin’s kids. She decides to send her bodyguard and chauffeur home. She wants to do things on her own for the first time in her life. She was so creative in getting to know Sten and I loved when she broke the chain to get his attention. She tells him about the Bravos being family and he really wants her to get to know them. He also becomes her chauffeur and she enjoys going grocery shopping. She finally gets the courage to meet her family and they couldn’t have been nicer but it is still overwhelming for her. The person that she becomes closest to is Aislinn because she is the one person that truly understands. Madison and Sten decide to enjoy each other while she’s there but what happens if one of them falls in love? Will Sten believe her or believe his feelings after Ella did a number on him a couple of years ago? Will Madison really give up acting for Sten and to be closer to her family? I highly recommend this book and I could go on and on about this book but I am trying not to give any spoilers away. This book can be read as a standalone but I would read this series in order. I received an ARC and volunteered to write a honest review.

Madison Delaney , Hollywood actress and usually referred to as America's Sweetheart has a secret. She has found out that she was switched at birth by Martin Durand with Aislinn Winter. How can it be that her real parents were George and Marie Bravo? She has come to believe this but she still wasn't ready to meet her brothers and sisters. George and Marie Bravo died during a trip to Thailand so she would never know them. Yet here she was stayimg in a rental cottage in Valentine Bay. It was peaceful here - no paparazzi to deal with. She was just relaxing and enjoying watching her sexy landlord Sten Larson working next door in his workshop. It was so pleasant fantasizing about him and seriously considering her plan to end her acting career. Then his niece, Coco saw her and recognized her as Eliza in the Disney movie The Wild Swans. Thus began a more intimate relationship with Sten Larson.

For his part Sten Larson couldn't bring himself to believe Madison really planned to leave her acting career and move to Valentine Bay. He knew Madison loved him and he was falling in love with her. But could this really work? Could they really have their HEA?

Switched at Birth by Christine Rimmer is part of her The Bravos of Valentine Bay series. The author has done an excellent job of writing a sweet yet sexy story of two people falling in love. Both Madison and Sten have obstacles to overcome but true loves does seem to always find a way. This is a lovely story and I really enjoyed how the author wrote two characters who were meant to be together and how they found their way. Christine Rimmer is to be commended on her story-telling ability.

You’re America’s sweetheart. You have a ton of money. You live a charmed life in Los
Angeles. Then you find out, you’re a fraud. You’re not who you think you are, and the reality of your ‘new’ family is getting closer. You’re also burnt out and tired of the Hollywood scene. Should you take a chance and see what your biological family is like? Madison Delaney must make some difficult choices, and soon.

You’ve always done what’s expected. Your family depends on you. You’ve always been the steady, even tempered person that everyone looks to for advice and help. You’re not sure you’re that person any longer. Sten Larson finds himself looking at the woman renting his cottage next door with more than neighborly thoughts. Where will this lead?

With the angst Madison feels when she decides to go forward with introducing herself to her birth family, and understanding how she was switched at birth, Sten is by her side. When the Hollywood photographers and gossip mongers find her in Valentine’s Bay, Sten is by her side. Sten is sure he’s not right for Madison. Madison is not sure where her career is going or what will happen in her near or distant future.

This is a perfect addition to the Valentine’s Bay Bravo family. I love that Ms. Rimmer brings back some of the earlier characters from this series so we can ‘catch up’ with what’s going on in their lives. Spend some time with old and new friends in Valentine’s Bay. A very enjoyable read.

You know how some actors and actresses change their names when they begin their careers for one reason or another? What happens when you are America's sweetheart, favorite actress, and you find out the name you have had all of your life, is not your real name? That is what happened to Madison Delaney on her birthday when Jonas Bravo comes and tells her that her Valentine Bay family had been trying to reach her. He tells her there is reason to believe she was switched at Birth. Now this leaves her feeling, she had already planned to take time off from her busy career, but now she really needed it, so she goes to Valentine Bay to check out this new family of hers. She rents a cottage but is really hesitant about meeting this whole new world of hers. She meets Sten, the owner of the cottage and there is instant attraction, on both sides. He lives in the house next door with his dad, sister, and her two kids whose daughter is adorable. Sten and Madison forge a connection that is strong something she has never had, he helps her see she needs this new family. They confide in each other, fall in love but don't admit it to the other. Stern sees this as just a passing thing, Madison will go back to LA and forget him. She wants to quit her movie star career, he doesn't believe her. When the press find out where she is, her vacation is over, she tells Sten how she feels about him, will be tell her he feels the same or let her go? Loved this book, especially the epilogue!

I really enjoyed “Switched at Birth,” the latest installment in the Bravos of Valentine Bay by Christine Rimmer. This is Madison’s story. Already rethinking her future in Hollywood, Madison Delaney succumbs to Jonas Bravo’s (The Billionaire Bravo) personal request that she travel to Valentine Bay to meet her siblings. There she rents a cottage from Sten Larson, but still isn’t quite ready to meet her newly discovered relatives. (As usual, of course, there is a character in Ms. Rimmer’s book that I would like to Gibbs slap, and in this book that is Sten. But he finally gets over his emotional baggage and……well, you need to buy and read the book.)

I liked how Madison and Sten developed their relationship and I think you will, too. I got a kick out of Sten’s niece, who lives with him in the house next door to the cottage. She is quite a character and I hope Ms. Rimmer will jump to the future in a few years and write her story. Speaking of the future, I also enjoyed the peek into Madison and Sten’s future in the epilogue.

And before I forget, you will like the relationships Madison begins to build with her sisters and brothers, especially Aislinn. All in all, this is a fairly lighthearted – and very enjoyable - story from Christine Rimmer and, yes, it’s going on my “keeper shelf.”

What would you do if, after the deaths of the people you thought of as your parents, you learned that they really weren't--at least not genetically? Madison Delaney has made a name for herself as a top-drawer actress and has the money and the security detail and housekeeper, etc. to show for it. But she's tired of all that and she's just plain curious about the family she should have had. If only she hadn't been switched at birth. So, off she goes, to vacation at the little Oregon beach town where that family lives--at their invitation.

She is hesitant to meet with them, but her landlord of the little beach cottage she rents, one Sten Larson, convinces her to do so. After gathering up her courage, she does just that. But that's not all that she wants on this so-called vacation. All is going well until papparazzi find her. She decides--no matter that she now is madly in love with Sten--that she has to return to Hollywood to protect her newly found family and special friends. Can Sten, will he, convince her otherwise when what has haunted him is a past relationship gone dreadfully wrong?

Next in the series 'Bravos of Valentine Bay' is Christine Rimmer's book "Switched at Birth." This is Madison Delaney's story. She just found out that the parents she knew growing up were not her parents and on the night she was born she was switched. Movie star and America's Darling, Maddy comes to Valentine Bay and rents a cottage from Sten Larson and his sister Karin. She is there to meet her family, and finds herself attracted to the man next door. The Bravo clan welcome her with open arms and she feels a connection to Aislinn. Sten isn't looking for any sort of relationship since he ended a 2 year relationship over a year ago when the woman he thought he was going to marry decided to leave him for her husband. Being burned before he doesn't trust easily. Even when Maddy says she wants to leave the Hollywood life he can't fully let her in to his heart. This is their story, and the author does a great job letting the reader know about the family. It can be a read alone, but I highly recommend the series.

Switched at Birth was a book that I found hard to put down.
It was a well written story that can be read as a stand alone or as part of the Bravos of Valentine Bay series.
Madison Delaney, a Hollywood actress, was hit with shocking news that the parents she thought were her parents possibly were not. She went to Valentines Bay to contemplate what her next move would be, and to contact her potential family while laying low out of the spotlight. Meanwhile Madison is not getting any younger and she has been giving serious thought to her life goals and what she will do about them. Sten Larson and his family rent her their vacation home in Valentine Bay, Oregon on the beach. They stay in the house next door. Seeing Sten and talking with him makes her question everything she wants her life to be. Can a Hollywood actress settle down in a beach town in Oregon and make her dreams come true?

Christine Rimmer does it again with her wonderful new romance Switched at Birth. Beautiful actress Madison Delaney's life is turned up side down when she learns that she was switched at birth. She immediately decides to head to Valentine Bay, Oregon to meet her new family but encounters more then she bargained for at her lovely beach rental.
Sten Larson is the gorgeous carpenter living next door and Madison's new sexy landlord. Madison finds herself falling in love with Sten's adorable niece and nephew and wildly attracted to their hunky uncle.
Madison decides to not only get acquainted with her long lost family but to dramatically change her isolated, lonely, Hollywood existence. Sten figures largely in her new exciting life plans.
I just loved Christine Rimmer's new exciting Bravo romance! Switched at Birth is full of passion, romance, and family drama. A wonderful captivating read! I can't recommend Switched at Birth by Christine Rimmer enough!!!

A very different buy buy buy book.

While I cannot say this book fulfilled all of my wishes, I can say it was a very good read. It has a plot line that is different, Characters that are likable and the way the story flows is good. I could of wished for a stronger heroine in some ways , but in others she was perfect. I loved the hero. He was a dream. I enjoyed the book due to the fact the plot line was not of the normal everyday variety. It has so many different layers of emotion and actions through out this entire story it made it captivating to me. The writer is truly talented in bringing the readers imagination to life. You need to buy this one and clear your mind and just sit and enjoy a very different book. While I received the ARC via NetGalley, all opinions written here are my own and totally voluntary.

Christine Rimmer's "Switched at Birth" was an excellent read and addition to the Bravos of Valentine Bay Series. It's a story about Madison Delaney and Sten Larson. Madison is a famous actress and American's darling who recently found out that she was switched at birth and has a whole family of siblings she has yet to meet. She travels to Valentine Bay to meet them but is having mixed feelings about it. She rents a cottage from Sten Larson. While she is dealing with all that life has thrown out her she finds comfort in Sten arms. They start seeing each other, but Sten feels this is a temporary relationship and believes she will go back to her acting career. Can Sten get past his past to move forward with a relationship or will he loose the girl. Read "Switched at Birth" to find out!! Happy Reading!!

I really enjoyed Switched at Birth, the fourth installment in the Bravos of Valentine Bay by Christine Rimmer. This story is Madison’s story. Celebrating her birthday and re-evaluating her life in Hollywood, Madison Delaney gives into a request from her new found cousin to travel to Valentine Bay to meet her siblings. She quickly finds and rents a cottage from Sten Larson, who is also her new neighbor along with his wonderful family. Madison may be in Valentine Bay but that doesn’t mean she is ready to meet her long lost siblings.

I liked the development of Madison and Sten’s relationship even when I could have gladly strangled each of them. The relationships with both families are expertly woven through the book. I really enjoyed how the switched at birth women developed a relationship with each other.

As usual, I loved the story and the characters and didn’t want it to end!

Switched at birth has always seemed a fanciful notion to me, but, as a kid. As an adult celebrity, I can't imagine that it is one that you would hold on to. Madison is that celebrity who feels uncertain about her life, her future and she knows she must go meet this family that she has acquired unexpectedly.
Not sure of how she will handle meeting them, she takes time off her career to go to Valentine Bay, figuring that the needed courage will come when it's time. But for now, she will get settled in at a rental on the ocean. The view isn't bad, especially of the hot neighbor.
Christine Rimmer is a pure writing genius! Her characters are real, down to earth, and approachable, someone who makes you feel like you're part of the story, and leaves you wanting more. The story is wonderful and has you on the edge of your seat ready for the next book!

Another wonderful Bravo of Valentines Bay story! I have been looking foreword to Madison’s story ever since I learned about her switch in Aislinn’s story, Almost a Bravo! I really liked the hero Sten. He’s a very down to earth hero who loves his life and his family. Madison & Sten have a magic between them from the start. This story explores Madison’s discovery of her heritage. She has a huge family. It is very intimidating to think about meeting all of them. She comes to Valentines Bay incognito & proceeds to slowly learn about the family as she musters the courage to approach them. She and Sten are fascinated with each other. Their relationship unfolds into love and commitment amidst this unusual situation for Sten’s Family and the Bravo family. Looking forward to both Connor’s and Liam’s stories coming up this year!
