A Dance For Christmas

Rate this book
Sometimes love could use a little push - Mrs. Claus is ready with a little magic for the Holiday Season
For the last ten years, Laura Chun put her heart and soul into becoming a physical therapist and sharing her love of dance with young students. When she receives an ornament and a mysterious message, she chalks it up to a Secret Santa – or in this case Mrs. Claus. It comes at the perfect time. A former student invites her to dance in the Nutcracker with her… & her father.
Matthew Benson would do anything for his daughter, Juliet. After they lost her mother years ago to a sudden illness it’s been just the two of them. Now Juliet’s earned the role of her young lifetime in a local ballet company. The only obstacle is that each dancer’s parents are expected to appear on stage. Juliet asks her favorite dance teacher to step in, and soon Matthew understands why his daughter thinks Laura hung the moon. He’s losing his heart to her as well.
Spending hours rehearsing together brings Laura and Matthew closer together and soon their onstage family may just become one offstage as well.
Will they take the chance and have… A Dance for Christmas?

Take The Chance And Dance
This is a love story, a sweet love story. A single father with an adorable preteen daughter and her former dance teacher. Soon after Laura receives an ornament from Mrs. Claus, she is reconnected with a former student and her father. They spend hours together rehearsing, getting to know each other, and grow closer. Sweet Contemporaries are one of my favorite genre Ms. Torres writes because she writes them so well. Take a break this crazy holiday season and enjoy A Dance for Christmas.

What a beautiful story! Two people, both suffering from losses, are brought together at Christmas through the love of a child. During a dance performance, Laura was injured when an onstage accident occurred. While she did recover, she can no longer dance at the level required for a ballerina. Matthew lost his wife a few years ago and is now raising their daughter, Juliet, alone.

Laura was Juliet’s first dance teacher. While Juliet is now studying with another school, she has never forgotten Laura. Her school is staging the Nutcracker and has asked the students to have family participate. Matthew has agreed to this and Juliet wants to ask Laura to also perform with them. After much discussion, Laura agrees. The three start rehearsals and begin to spend time together. As time goes on, and the performance nears, they all begin to recognize what is happening. Will they continue to move forward? Or, will something hold them back.

Reina Torres brings life and love to this story. Her words allow you to see the bond between the three of them developing, even when they haven’t yet. Through the magic of Christmas, and the love of a little girl, and even a grinch that threatens to disrupt the building relationship, the three come together.

A Sweet and Magical Christmas Story

I loved reading this book. If you enjoy Hallmark movies, then definitely check this book out because it was both sweet and heartfelt. The story centers around a Christmas classic with a ballet performance of The Nutcracker. All three main characters have suffered losses and have overcome them but are missing something from making their lives complete without being aware. A secret Santa gift and cryptic note will change all of their lives forever. Laura was on the road to being a principal ballerina when injury ends her career. But she found a new purpose and still shares her love of dance by teaching little kids. One such kid was Juliet. Juliet and her father, Matthew, are just bouncing back from the loss of his wife/her mother when fate intervenes. Juliet got a part in The Nutcracker and needs to dance with her 'parents' and without a mother, decides her favorite dance teacher should step in. The journey this book takes the characters on is emotional, realistic, and truly heartwarming.

Laura Chun may no longer be the ballerina she hoped to be, but she’s sharing her gifts by helping others in the way she was helped and by giving young aspiring ballerinas the guidance of her innate talent for dance. Juliet’s been given the chance of her young dancer’s life to perform in “The Nutcracker.” The family members participate in the performance as well, and Juliet wants Laura, her former teacher, to join them as the “mom” in their family participation. Matthew Benson’s primary desire is to do his best for his daughter Juliet, but when he meets Laura, it may mean more than just having her perform with them.

This is an enchanting Christmas love story. It has all the feels that you may expect, but so much more! Laura is an amazing person. She’s the teacher, the friend you want to have in your life. Matthew is a wonderful dad, and the kind of man you hope to have in your life. As a heartwarming, engaging tale, this will tug at your heartstrings, bring tears to your eyes, and make you feel like you’ve read your new most favorite Christmas tale. You must give this a read! I guarantee you will love it!!

Oh, how I loved this story. I think out of all the books or Ms. Torres I have read this one tops them all. I think this is the most wonderful, magical, moving romance story I have read of hers.
How does a little ballerina bring her old teacher and her father together by a dance in the Nutcracker? Unknowingly, as parents need to participate in this version along with their daughter’s performance, she gets her old dance teacher to come and be her mom for a few weeks of practice and the performances.
Since her mom has died, she had to find someone to take her place in order for her to be in the show. The dance teacher will also have to teach her dad to dance.
This is so delightful and such a wonderful read it is a Christmas must read.
I received this ARC from the author but did not have to do this review but I loved this story that I had to write this review. There was and will not be any compensation for this review.

Thanks for a sweet second chance Christmas story. I loved it and expect even more books from this author. This is my first book by Ms. Torres and I was not disappointed. Being a novella, it was short, sweet and filled with “hope” for the future. Laura the dance instructor (and more), meets Matthew, the Dad of Juliet, one of her students. I had to laugh at Juliet as I found her sweetness and caring so charming that she made the book. Enjoyed the story-line!

I really enjoyed reading this book. This is a book about dancing. At this time of year, the main ballet dance of course is the Nutcracker. Many dance companies do some or all of this ballet.

Laura Chun is a physical therapist and former ballerina. Laura is also a dance instructor and teaches young students at the studio. Matthew Benson is the father of one of Laura's former dance students, Juliet. Juliet has been selected to dance in the Nutcracker. There is a slight catch, her father and mother must dance with her. Unfortunately, Juliet's mother passed away a few years ago, so a substitute "mother" needs to be found so that Juliet can participate. Will Laura help Juliet and dance with her and her father?

I liked this book because it was quick, easy to read and had love and happiness in the book. It is a perfect read for a cold snowy day when you are dreaming about love and life.

I loved this heartwarming story about Matthew a widowed father, his daughter Juliet and Laura the dance instructor. This is a sweet story with believable characters that pulled at my heartstrings. I loved the way Matthew fell for Laura the minute he saw her but he didn't want to ruin his daughters performance so he fought the attraction. A perfect Holiday read!

Such a sweet holiday romance that will put you right into the Christmas mood. Single/widowed dad, Matthew and his adorable daughter Juliet, who unintentionally played matchmaker for her dad and her old ballet teacher, Laura. The interactions between these three were so wonderful. They were all so sweet and cute together. This story definitely made my heart happy.

Sweet book with sweeter characters

Another in the ornaments series, this book reolves around a ballerina who might have been the best in the world, if not for a drunken accident. As such, her brilliant career ended and, phoenix-like, her new one began. She taught tiny toes to dance. One of her best former students returned to ask a favor of Laura. She needed a stand in for her recital concert that was to be held in a few weeks. Of course Laura was thrilled to help, even when she realized that she would be playing part of a couple with Juliet's dadas her mate. All went well, and it was time for their roles to end. Neither Laura, Juilet or her father, Matthew, was willing for that to happen. That tiny pair of peach slippers hanging on the Christmas tree was shining like a promise kept. Merry Christmas, everyone!
Great read, well-wtitten storyline.

I loved this book. Ballet is one of my favorite things to watch. Laura is dancer teacher. She is helping out one of her former students Juliet. Matthew is Juliet's dad. Both Matthew and Juliet have been hurt in the past. Matthew is afraid if he falls for Laura she will walk away. Matthew wants to know everything about Laura. He wants to keep Laura and Juliet safe. Laura loves seeing Juliet become a a beautiful dancer she is so proud of Juliet. And Juliet is Laura's biggest fan. Matthew feels like he is a better person around Laura. Laura brings joy to his life. Matthew and Juliet want Laura to take a chance on them. Laura realizes she want to be part of Matthew and Juliet's life. This is perfect Christmas romance story.

I was drawn in from the first scene. My daughter has a dance studio, so this story became personal. The characters were interesting. The tension good, and the plot flowed. I like this series.

A lost chance at being in some of the best Ballets. Now Laura teaches everything she knows to little girls dreaming of the big stage.
Matthew a big time lawyer, loses his wife and the mother of his daughter. Now he is spending more time with Juliet and her famous dance teacher. Can he start again? Will Laura start over again with a ready made family?
Loved this story! Second chance love is awesome and you really don't know the outcome! Great job Reina! You never disappoint with your writing.

An interesting story about dancers and their hard training and the lives around them.

Laura's world was getting busy and complicated with students and a certain parent of her pet student. Things were going along well with her relationships with Julie and with her father Matthew. Despite her efforts to try to guilt Matthew into severing his ties with Laura, Aunt Andrea was as unsuccessful as usual. Just very selfish. But it didn't work. Matthew, Julie and Laura formed a perfect circle and had a ba y boy.

I loved this book.. I have read Reina Torres's Historical books and have found this book a departure from those that I normally read! Exceptional. It showed the grit and determination needed to compete in the world of Ballet. It also brought love to two people struggling with their lives and needing something more. I highly recommend this book!

I received and ARC of this book and am choosing to leave an honest review.

This novella has no on-page sex and no harsh cursing.

This is a quick and easy read that is set around the ballet and it was a cute little novella about a sweet little girl, her single father, and a dance instructor that wins both of their hearts. If you are looking for a book that is very light on drama and heavy on happiness and hope, this book fits that bill.

This is #6 in a fun group of novels all written by different authors. The bond between a teacher and child can become very strong. This story highlights the bond between teacher and a very committed young ballet student. Sparks fly when the widower father is reintroduced to the former teacher. This is a clean romance fine for teens up to read.

I love this quirky series with books written by different authors with the common theme of a gift received from Mrs Claus foretelling a romance. To be honest dancing isn't my thing, however this story had me hooked from the beginning. Sometimes a sweet romance with that all - important feel - good factor just hits the mark to make you feel better.
