From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Heather Graham comes a new story in her Krewe of Hunters series…

Any member of the Krewe of Hunters is accustomed to the strange. And to conversing now and then with the dead.

For Andre Rousseau and Cheyenne Donegal, an encounter with the deceased in a cemetery is certainly nothing new.

But this year, Halloween is taking them across the pond—unofficially.

Their experiences in life haven’t prepared them for what’s to come.

Cheyenne’s distant cousin and dear friend Emily Donegal has called from London. Murder has come to her neighborhood, with bodies just outside Highgate Cemetery, drained of blood.

The last victim was found at Emily’s doorstep, and evidence seems to be arising not just against her fiancé, Eric, but against Emily, too. But Emily isn’t just afraid of the law—many in the great city are beginning to believe that the historic Vampire of Highgate is making himself known, aided and abetted by adherents. Some are even angry and frightened enough to believe they should take matters into their own hands.

Andre and Cheyenne know they’re in for serious trouble when they arrive, and they soon come to realize that the trouble might be deadly not just for Emily and Eric, but for themselves as well.

There’s help to be found in the beautiful and historic old cemetery.

And as All Hallows Eve looms, they’ll be in a race against time, seeking the truth before the infamous vampire has a chance to strike again.

**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series.**

description Every year around this time I get excited because I know this author will release her annual 1001 Dark Nights Halloween themed novella. I love everything about these books, and this years offering was no different. This one takes place in England at Highgate Cemetary. As per usual, we have an already established couple as our mains. Something I much prefer as I feel like this author's forte isn't the romance aspects of her books. The mystery itself was well done. Especially considering how short the book was. It kept me guessing right until the end. And of course, the history and background stories about Highgate were stellar. All in all, this was a great read and gets two thumbs up from yours truly. 👍👍

Blood Night
Krewe of Hunters Novella
By: Heather Graham

*REVIEW* 🎃🎃🎃🎃
Blood Night is a new addition by Heather Graham to the 1001 Dark Nights Collection. As a novella, a lot of entertainment and mystery are packed into a convenient fast read. This time, a couple of the Krewe of Hunters' members travel to London where a family member in distress pulls them into a murder mystery. This story is rife with intrigue, strangeness and rumors of a vampire?? I have enjoyed every novella so far in the series, and this latest is no exception. It's another well written mystery with the same excellent characters. Carry on!

BLOOD NIGHT by Heather Graham is a Novella that is a part of the Krewe of Hunters Series. I haven't yet read the books in that series but I did feel I was able to make this a standalone book. It was a great dark Halloween type read. Dealing with Andre and Cheyenne who speak to the dead and seem to hang out in cemeteries to advance their cause.
Enjoyed this book.

A wordy detective story with some supernatural elements.

I'm sorry to anyone who really enjoyed this book, but.. it is just so boring.
I was interested when it mentioned vampires, but there were no actual vampires in the book.
The detectives, who are also a couple, went overseas to help the MFC's cousin. They had tons of conversations and went to several different places.
The only interesting parts were when they spoke to a ghost, and at the end when everything comes to light and the action picks up.

Maybe I would have enjoyed it more if I had already read the Krewe of Hunters series.
Also, the detectives get to her cousin's home to help investigate murders happening that her cousin and her cousin's husband may or may not be involved in- and promptly have sex multiple times. Great idea, guys. I don't mind some spicy scenes, but these weren't even good and it seemed unnecessary with the situation at hand.

Conversations with the dead, vampires, London, and investigative work - what more could I ask for in a novella? This one is definitely packed with lots of interesting aspects.

I have been a Heather Graham fan for years, reading many of her books including the Flynn Brothers Trilogy and Hurricane Bay. She has a way with words that sucks you in from the beginning and keeps you reading without realizing how much time has passed.

This novella is no exception - I devoured it in one sitting. Cheyenne and Andre travel to London to help Cheyenne's cousin who is in quite a predicament. They have experience in this area as members of the Krewe of Hunters but can they clear her name and solve the crime while having no real jurisdiction out of the United States? Why is her cousin being targeted? Is there really a vampire? You will have to read this one to find out!

Blood Night is a novella in the Krewe of Hunters series by Heather Graham. Seeing it been listed as part 29.5 of the series is a shock to me since I only read the novellas from the 1001 dark series, but I am glad the author is doing so well. The main characters of this novella also have a full-length novel called "The Stalking" (book 29 in the series), so the majority of the romance happened there. The novella is more focused on the mystery-solving and less on showing us how the couple is fairing after they got their happily ever after. Personally, I didn't mind and I enjoyed this novella as a stand-alone story. I am familiar with the world the author has built and I was able to dive in and enjoy this book. I would recommend Blood night to everyone who is looking for a short, paranormal suspense story. Or just a good way to spend their evening.

A vampire has returned just in time for Halloween, but this time the Krewe must go to England. We spend more time with Cheyenne and Andre in this novella which I love. Each Krewe couple is interesting and fun so I love these novellas and how they show the progression of the individuals and couple.

Cheyenne has another cousin who is in trouble and the Krewe is going to help. Adam of course knows some people so two of the Krewe are able to go overseas and work the case unofficially. The potential killer list is long and the details of the victims covers a lot of information. The history of an area and cemetery, as well as how another country celebrates a huge American holiday was entertaining.

As with the other Krewe stories I enjoyed the couple, the plot and the twists and turns along the way. The guilty party was somewhat clear from the beginning but still held some surprises. This story can be read alone, but to truly experience the Krewe, Adams ability to finagle situations and this couple I would recommend reading the series in order.

Thanks for the chance to read this book and share my opinions!

Celebrate All Hallow’s Eve in London with Krewe members and hunt vampires in a cemetery

Halloween is coming up fast, so I enjoyed reading this Krewe of Hunters novella. Caveat: if I hadn’t read the “Stalking,” which is book #29 in this series, I might’ve been confused or a bit lost regarding the protagonists—FBI agents Cheyenne Donegal and Andre Rousseau—especially about their relationship and shared history in New Orleans.

The atmosphere is wonderfully evocative of London in autumn, including pea-soup fog, which I have yet to experience. The rather quirky characters are mostly likable and include unconventional Scotland Yard detectives; a sham psychic; a randy banker; an internet media star, and a spiritualist-cum-fake bishop of a “church.”

Unlike most Krewe stories, this takes place in London during the week of All Hallow’s Eve, with hopes that the protagonists live to see All Saints’ Day. Cheyenne and Andre attempt to help the police capture “the Highgate vampire” who hunts, kidnaps and drains his female victims of blood. This is a short read of 114 pages, and although I found the clues that gave up the culprit, I read to the fun end.

Another Triumph!

Another excellent and spooky read by Heather Graham. This involves Cheyenne and Andre from the Krewe of Hunters. Cheyenne has a cousin, Emily, who lives with her boyfriend, Eric, in Highgate in London where they are suspected in the murder of an old girlfriend of Eric's. There have been several murders of women apparently by a vampire an, of course, it is close to Halloween! There is a problem since the Krewe is not invited to work legally in the UK so they are working on their own but have let the police know they are available if needed. There are so many suspects besides Emily and Eric that they interview and are trying to figure out how everyone is involved. It is interesting that Highgate is famous for a very old cemetery and it seems to be the center of action. So are Cheyenne and Andre along with the English police able to solve the crimes before there are any more deaths? I recommend that you read this awesome book!

Cheyenne Donegal's cousin Emily and her fiancé Eric have a problem. A murderous one. Bodies have been showing up in their neighborhood and one just showed up literally on their doorstep. Unfortunately for both of them it was Eric's ex-girlfriend's body.

Always up to the challenge, Cheyenne and her partner Andre Rousseau travel across the pond to assist in the investigation. Unofficially of course.

A tense situation with only a little cooperation from the locals that quickly begins to escalate the closer they get. Of course getting some help from a spirit is always a plus. Not helpful are the Vampire rumors that go so well with the exsanguinated bodies.

Suspenseful, Spooky, and Fun. This is a Perfect Halloween Read!

Well, isn't this a timely release?  I read this during my commute to work, and I found it to be a proper Halloween treat - no nasty tricks to be found at all.

I really enjoyed Andre and Cheyenne's dynamic.  They had a really easygoing, and natural interaction, through which the depth of their feelings for each other was plain to see.  That was overlaid with a decent plot - a real "whodunnit".  And though you may guess the culprit (I didn't, I confess), I genuinely don't think that would impair your enjoyment of the story at all.

This was, simply put, a delightfully spooky read.

I haven't read much from this author at all. Clearly, I am missing out.  I must get on and rectify that omission.

Another winner for the Krewe

Always a fan of Heather Graham's Krewe of Hunters series, this novella is no exception. This time, it is in the UK and not on home turf in the USA. Andre Rousseau and Cheyenne Donegal have answered a call for help from Cheyenne's cousin Emily when one of the recently murdered bodies ends up on her doorstep. Not able to act in any official capacity, they however are allowed to assist in finding the murderer. I must admit I did have a little trouble keeping some of the characters straight in my head and then realised it was because several started with the same letters. Maybe I need to take notes when I read? Overall however I did enjoy this fast paced novella with it's interesting characters.

Novella from the Krewe of Hunters series. Andre and Cheyenne converse with the dead and spend some time in the cemetery. This Halloween they end up somewhere different because they were called to London. Cheyenne's cousin, Emily, has called her that bodies have been found outside a cemetery drained of blood. One was found outside Emily's doorstep and things point to her and her fiance Eric. They are fighting against an infamous vampire and they need to wrap this all up before they are all in danger of losing their lives.
This was a quick read and I enjoyed getting to know these characters.

Fun mystery

Cheyenne and Andre from the famous Crewe of Hunters take a brief sojourn in London to help Cheyenne's cousin and her boyfriend who are suspected of murder. Along the way to solving the crime they meet an interesting assortment of suspects and at least one helpful ghost. The heat level is pretty low, but that's ok because it leaves more room in the story for crime solving. I like this series and the little novellas are great additions.

Spooky Fun

When Cheyenne and Andre go to England to help Cheyenne's cousin, after she'd been questioned about a the murder of her boyfriend's ex-girlfriend, they promise to do all they can to help find the truth. After another woman goes missing, the race is on to find. Will they be able to stop the madman in time? Maybe....with a little help from a ghost.

I love both the Krewe of Hunters series and the 1,001 Dark Nights series. Together, they always guarantee a great read.

Very excited to pursue other stories with Cheyenne, Andre, Emily and the whole cast of wonderful characters!

A perfect yarn for a cold October night.

As always I enjoyed Ms. Grahams writing style, sense of humor and attention to details. I love old cemeteries and the descriptions in this shot were really great. There are so many Krewe of Hunters books it easy to get confused but this picked up right after the full novel that the main characters were involved in. So even that was great. Highly recommend this series of you are someone who likes a serious book with a fun twist.

3 stars.

A short pre-Halloween tale of a Krewe couple going to London where her cousin and fiancé are suspects in a series of murders where the female victims are drained of blood.

It looks like the Krewe's reputation is known across the water as well. There's a convenient group of "persons of interest", a few conversations with each and then a suitably suspenseful finale with a bit of help with a friendly ghost. It's a pretty typical Krewe book, just shortened.

I read this during a time in my life that I was on auto-pilot as some of life's personal endeavours unfolded/were resolved and living in a semi-closed world due to Covid. Part of me even wonders what format I read this one, but I would quess Kindle or NOOK due to the library's being closed.

But, but one quick note: I read this in a day and did so quickly because it kept moving from one event or situation or character story to the next.

4 out of 5 stars.

I really enjoy paranormal books and bonus points if there is “talking to the dead”. This book was a mystery and I honestly had no idea where this was going. It was twisty and I had so many ideas on who the killer was, but inevitably I was wrong in the end. I really love these novellas. They are just the right size for a quick story to keep me on my toes!
