A pretty fun volume of the my little pony comics. Not as good as the other volumes I’ve read but still a lot of fun. I love all the Cameos that show up in this series and the jokes and stories as well. I’m super glad that I found this comic series.

Wow! Cosmos is a very interesting yet crazy villain. I really enjoyed reading about her.

As a parent of young children, I’ve read a fair number of comic books based on licensed properties, and I think the best of the bunch is “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.” The writing takes the source material seriously enough to allow for real stakes in the adventures of the mane six, while also maintaining the lighthearted humor of the television series, which means lots of winking references for adults. Plus, the art is always fantastic. While MLP may never achieve the artistic heights of the less commercial graphic novels currently available for young readers, MLP is consistently dependable and satisfying, even after 17 volumes.
This particular volume starts with a heartwarming, one-issue story about imposter syndrome (but of course they don’t call it that). The rest of the book features a multi-issue story arc about Discord’s ex-girlfriend attempting to take over Equestria. Discord is a sort-of chaos muppet with the ability to alter reality, not unlike Q in Star Trek: The Next Generation (in fact, the actor who played Q also voices Discord on the MLP show). Discord is one of my daughter’s favorite MLP characters, as his powers give writers and artists a chance to be really creative, and they don’t disappoint.
