Diana Gleason is determined to prove herself as a capable, confident, and essential Pinkerton agent, now that the agency had decided to bring women into their ranks. She’ll do anything to accomplish her assignment, even if it means marrying her partner and training agent. Wyatt McGrath is a handsome, charming, experienced agent, filled with Texas politeness and the patience to teach Diana what she needs to know.
But the more they get involved in the undercover investigation assigned to them, the more she discovers that her partner has secrets, and those secrets haunt him. More than that, those secrets could get in the way of their mission, and put them in danger. With growing feelings for Wyatt, and something to prove, Diana must decide if the mission comes before her partner, or if there is any way to save both.
I was born once upon a time, and I started making up stories right away. Eventually, I started writing them down, and never stopped! I have a day job, which gets in the way of my writing, but it pays the bills so I CAN write, so I guess that's okay! I am a bookworm, which I think is key to being a writer, and I am always looking for inspiration! I live in Indiana, am obsessed with hot chocolate, and I am on track to be the best aunt in the world.
Such a fun idea for a series! This was a fun book. A little longer then a novella. Rebecca is a great writer and I just love everything of hers. This series promises some great romance and lots of fun. I did wish we got a little more between these two, they were pretty busy getting the bad guys. There was the sweetest scene in this where he brushes her hair! Connolly is a master at the sweet subtle romance. I am so excited for this series! WOHO!
This book was delightfully unexpected. I love the mixture of action/adventure with romance, and this book did a great job with both. Diana and Wyatt were such fun protagonists, with hilarious bantering, sneaky spying, differing pasts, and such wonderful swoony moments that had my toes curling long into the night. I loved it and can’t wait to read more in this fun and unique series!!
Romance and mystery. I liked this story at the same time as I was disturbed by it. The mystery is finding out who is behind the bad stuff going on and I didn't figure out who it was before the reveal. But the bad stuff going on was the part that was so disturbing. Discrimination and using religious beliefs to justify what can only be called evil. If only one could believe that it was unrealistic but unfortunately we know that not only has it happened in our country's history it continues on in this time as well. And it is sickening.
But if you look beyond the horrifying truth of these events having happened in one form or another, the story is interesting and the romance is sweet. I particularly liked this hero in his charming manners. And Diana was strong and likable as well.
I love the banter and verbal sparring between Diana and Wyatt, for me the best quip has to be Diana's impromptu wedding vows 'I promise to run when you say so, to duck when you say so, and to only say derogatory things when you can't hear them'. Their ease with each other and quick word play assists perfectly in their cover, and they certainly need it for their hideous investigation. My only slight grumble is that their case appears unfinished, yes they have gained important information and knowledge but will someone else continue where they have left off? Will the leaders ever be brought to justice?
Book 10 of the Pinkerton Matchmakers series was another interesting story. I really enjoyed this one. Even though Wyatt was so against the Denver Pinkerton agency pairing their male agents with wannabe female agents and requiring them to get married with the male agents training and protecting the female agents in the field, he ended up with a fascinating partnership with Diana. They get along well and have both chemistry and a good friendship as they investigate a group of vigilantes who claim to be a n support of justice but are just using it to do what they want in regards to their prejudices.
I have recently discovered and fell in love with the tv series The Pinkertons. Imagine my delight when I stumbled onto this series while looking for a new western to read. And two big pluses are it’s availability on Kindle Unlimited and it has some authors that I absolutely love like this one, Rebecca Connolly. This book was really intriguing and the mystery just pulls you right in. I loved watching the story unfold. The characters were believable and so fun to get to know. I’m definitely checking out the other books in this series.
Another wonderful story by Ms Connolly! And another fantastic addition to the series. The perfect amount of action, romance and wit.

Wyatt was an excellent and experienced Pinkerton agent and Diaz was from well off parentage with a desire for adventure. She applied to be a Pinkerton agent, is accepted and is paired with Wyatt. They must marry to protect her reputation and may annul the marriage at the end of their assignment of the marriage has not been consumated. What will be their future? You will enjoy this book. I did.
Rebecca Connolly writes an intriguing story filled with mystery, suspense, humor and romance. Diana joins the Pinkertons to leave her life as a socialite and is paired with an agent who is a self proclaimed Texas Gentleman with a secret which affects their assignment. Together they protect a family and get more than they bargained for. I was rivited by their story until the very end which was actually the beginning of their lives together. I highly recommend An Agent For Diana.
This installment or the Pinkerton Matchmaker books was funny, witty, and well crafted. The author's writing immersed you into the story. The characters were interesting and the case Diana and Wyatt were involved in was plausible and their sleuthing skills believable. I hated to put the book down. I highly reccomend this book and anything else Connolly writes. I am never disappointed!
A smart beautiful witty agent who also has a mind of her own.
Diana was from a wealthy family I'm Baltimore but signed on as a female Pinkerton agent. She wasn't excited about the wedding part one bit. Wyatt McGrath was probably the most outspoken agent against marrying the female agents. Until he saw his bride. They go under cover to find the leaders in a powerful vigilante group in Indiana. Greatvstory with lost of action and sweet romance.
GUESS IM TOO SPOILT WITH ROMANCES WITH PASSION AND THIS ONE WHILE I ROOTED FOR THE MCS FELL SHORT FOR ME BECAUSE THERE WAS NO PASSION. WHILE IT IS ROMANCE, THEIR RELATIONSHIP WAS JUST BORING AND BY THE END OF THE BOOK, THEY STILL FELT LIKE STRANGERS TO ME. TELLING A PERSON YOUR SECRET OR DEMONS DOESNT MAKE YOU BEST FRIENDS THE NEXT MOMENT.
Wyatt and Diana are as different as can be, like most of the couples in this series. But once in the thick of things, Diana comes to realize two things. She's fallen in love with her husband, and he's determined to "fix" the problem, even at the cost of his own life.
First book I have read by this author and I was impressed. She hooks you from the first paragraph until the last word. Intense story of vigilante justice and life events that shape us. Wyatt and Diana are very different people from very different backgrounds but no matter how hard they try not to they fall in love. A must read
The story of Diana and Wyatt was fun. She is a fun and spunky lady. He doesn’t know how to handle her. Funny what little things can turn a man’s head. And she finds it. Then they find a little girl who needs help. They finally come together as one, but the way is strewn with misunderstandings. Overall this was a fun story. I recommend this series.
I really liked the playful humor between these two characters, but there were also some very serious parts as well. The subject of the case that these two detectives are on is a lot heavier of a subject than the other cases in the series, but it is still a quick read. Other than a few typos that I noticed the writing was really good.
I enjoyed this quick read and I was actually imagining Gal Gadot and Chris Pine as our leads! 3.5 stars for a sweet romance and a touch of history/visit to Salem. Ideally, this book should be read as part of the Pinkerton series, but does work as a standalone. Just a thought - the model on the cover is wearing such heavy makeup!
Well was wondering what Diana will tell her mom about her marriage and her being an agent.now that they have a seen to pick up a child and will they stay being agents so many questions lol I would recommend this book
There is meat on them bones! A book that tells a story that you can sink your teeth into, and yet there is more to it than meets the eye. Hmmm, what could possibly happen next?
I’m thoroughly enjoying this series. This one is set in Indiana and is primarily an investigation. A reminder that law and justice have had growing pains throughout the country.
I've had trouble reading Rebecca's stories in the past and just hoped that because everything so far in this series has been clean, her's would be too. I was barely into the story when I ran into a cuss word. Oh well!
Rebecca has conquered another genre and joined a delight series based on female agents and their counterpoints/husband agents. This one proved to have a perfect balance of romance, adventure and delightful characters and conversation. A must read.
Paired up by Pinkerton Agency as a married couple Diana and Wyatt start their first assignment. It is a doozy! Going into the heartland where their is a religious cult that takes justice into their own hands. - Babs
I enjoyed Diana's book. Not many women during that time period would have been so daring as to want to become a Pinkerton, but this character dared what few would dare to do.
I am loving this series. I am used to Rebecca Connolly's books being set in England. This was a nice change of setting and circumstances. She did another great job.
Wou!d give this one 10 or more 🌟 . My mom's family were mainly from Ireland and like many groups in American history had their problems fitting in here. This was so good 👍
