Tilly Cassidy receives a lovely gingerbread star ornament from Mrs. Claus with a note that claims her next wish upon a star will lead to what her heart desires most. It’s way too bad all her biggest dreams fall into the impossible category — like her foolish wish for a train ticket she can’t afford in order to attend her best friend’s wedding in Pinetop, Arizona. Then there’s her wish to find a little joy and happiness of her own along the way.
The moment the hardworking maid dares to make such impossible wishes, everything in her upside-down world changes. Soon the only thing standing in the way of true love is a villain from her past. Fortunately, the new and dashing sheriff of Pinetop is anxious to assist her, and she begins to wonder if she was wrong to stop believing in happily-ever-afters.

I loved this story. Mystery, with tension-filled scenes. Characters filled with character. Great story.
The gingerbread star ornament Tilly found wrapped up on her porch had a message written in spidery handwriting enclosed. It said for her to wish upon a star to get her heart's desire. Tilly didn't believe in magic wishes, but she was becoming desperate. And she wanted to go to her best friend's wedding in Pinetop, AZ, more than anything. Her entire savings amounted to the cost of a train ticket to Pinetop, but it would leave her completely destitute. Resolutely, she decided she really had nothing to lose and walked over to the house where she worked parttime and resigned. Then she went and purchased her ticket. Maybe wishing on that gingerbread star would change her luck. All Tilly really wanted was a family and the opportunity to make a home for herself and them....who knew what she would find in the Christmasy town of Pinetop??? Loved this latest read from the Ornaments series. The writer continues the tale of Tilly's friend and concentrates on Tilly's advent into society in Hilltop. All the excitement and romance anyone could ask for rolled into a sweet story. Thanks for a really goodread, Ms Grafford!
Ah! A whirlwind meeting and courtship for Tilly and Jackson, one packed with danger, intrigue and the performance of their lives. It is lovely to return to Pinetop and especially to attend the wedding of Willa and Angel, but with both Tilly and Jackson being new in town will Pinetop protect them as their own or will they turn against them...blame them? This is a lovely series which I am thoroughly enjoying, the whole series is available on Kindle Unlimited. Unfortunately this book has a small number of typos in it, Willy instead of Tilly, etc. I have read a number of books by Jo Grafford and not come across this before, so I can only assume this is an anomaly and not the norm.
The Ornamental Match Maker is a intriguing series with a unique Christmas twist. Part romance, part mystery. Somebody keeps sending handcrafted Christmas ornaments with personalizes messages. This story can be read as a stand alone but Book 4 Angel Christmas Cookie starts the story between a small town dinner theater owner (Angel) and a home town access (Willa). Book 7 Star Studded Christmas is a historical romance. Tilly Cassidy wishes upon a star and tasks the risk of a lifetime to attend Willa's wedding in Pinetop, Arizona. Tilly and Jackson Winter are believable characters. Unexpected conflicts moves the twist and turn plot. Jo Grafford's story is a delightful story. Looking forward to Stolen Heart Valentine.
After her favorite client, Willa, leaves Tombstone, Tilda is lonely. Willa had made her maid more than an employee, she's been her dear friend. When Tilda receives the invitation to Willa's wedding, she knows it would take every penny of her savings to travel to the wedding and she would be jobless and without funds. Whether the gift from Mrs. Claus had any part in her decision, we'll have to see. A surprising and scary, fun, sweet book that will warm your heart.
Tully wishes she could travel to the wedding of her dearest friend. Unfortunately, if she buys a ticket it will leave her virtually penniless. Deciding to go and beg a job from her friend Willa after the wedding, two things happen; she finds a wanted poster offering $100.00 reward for her arrest, and she meets the most handsome man she's ever seen. A man who happens to be a Sheriff.
This time Mrs Claus seems a star ornament to Tilly, a young girl who has fallen on hard times. She spends the last of her money to travel for her friend's wedding and on the way mets a handsome stranger. This series has never failed to give me that warm, fuzzy feeling that you get when reading a good old feel - good story, one of our movie channels is running a Christmas in July season and these fit right in. Now to download the next one from my TBR list...
Tilley was Willas best friend. Tilly takes a train to her wedding and finds a wanted poster for herself. She is scared but she confides in the sheriff who is sitting acrossed from her. Jackson is smitten with her but believes her story. What happens is super intriguing and so special. Jackson an. Tilly fall hopelessly in love.
A wonderful sweet story of wishes and dreams coming true with a little bit of Christmas magic for a young girl who spends her last penny to see her dear friend get married. Never dreaming the adventure she was about to depart on that would change her life. I highly recommend this series and this author. I can't wait to read more of her books.
Right from the beginning this book draws you in and you can't put it down, literally!! Loved the characters and the storyline. What a great addition to a great collection!
A great story that will keep you guessing until the end!
I couldn't wait to read Tillie's story! It was worth the wait! I love Jackson he is the perfect Sheriff! This book I couldn't put down. Had me guessing right up to the end!
Jackson- new sheriff in town Tilly - Willa's ex-maid who traveled to see the wedding. I enjoyed reading this engaging historical western story that is fantastically written with charismatic witty characters. Their story has an amazingly sweet HEA.
This was like a roller coaster ride for me. It started out near hopeless. A glimmer of hope and a large step of faith led to an amazing adventure which leaves you near breathless with how great it all ended up.
I'm really enjoying this series and all the stories. Mrs Claus as a matchmaker makes for a very interesting read. I loved Jackson and Tilly's story and look forward to more books in the series.
As a fan of Willa and Angel already, I enjoyed this sweet, wishful tale a little extra. Both existing and new characters combine to create a story I couldn't put down.
