Anna Gray has exhausted herself taking care of her family. Try as she might, she simply doesn't know how to meet the needs of her ailing mother, her self-centered sister, and her distracted father. She longs for some help, and perhaps even an escape, but there doesn't seem to be an answer to her dilemma.
Liam Mason, experienced Pinkerton detective, has returned to his Denver home after being away in New York City. His first case with the Denver office sounds like just what he needs - a protection detail to escort a young lady to England to be married. There's a catch, though - he needs to bring a female agent along to be a companion to that young lady, and he needs to be married to the agent.
The only girl he can imagine himself marrying is Anna Gray, one of his good friends from college, but he hasn't even seen her in quite some time. Is she still free, and would she consider becoming his wife just so he can fulfill his assignment? If anything were to happen to her . . .

Amelia C. Adams is a wife, a mother, and a novelist. She spends her days dreaming up stories and her nights writing them down. Her biggest hero is her husband, and you might just see bits and pieces of him as you read her novels.
She loves all things historical and enjoys learning about days gone by, but she's glad she was born more recently (she won't say how recently or not recently) because the Internet is awesome, and she's glad she doesn't have to wash her clothes by hand in a galvanized tub. She has hit Amazon bestseller status twice, once for A Clean Slate and once for A Clear Hope.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story! Anna needed someone in her life who would appreciate her. Liam needed someone to complete him. A perfect match! While keeping their clients daughter safe, they realize they have to stay on their toes! They also realize the hasty marriage vows they spoke may be the best decision they ever made. Come join them on their trip from Denver to New York.... You will be glad you did!!!
Liam and Anna set off on their first assignment expecting one thing and finding themselves in the middle of something else entirely! But they work together perfectly, totally in sync, it is probably a bonus that they were friends first, they understand each other, how they think and how they feel...well apart from how they feel about each other! It is clear to everyone else with every look, every action, just how much love they have. Another sweet romance with a side of intrigue, a great addition to the Pinkerton Matchmaker Series which I read on Kindle Unlimited.
This installment of the Pinkerton Matchmaker books was sudpenceful. The author's writing immersed you into the story. The characters were interesting and the case Anna and Luam were involved in was plausible and their sleuthing skills believable. I hated to put the book down. I highly reccomend this book and anything else Amelia C. Adans writes. I am never disappointed! The only thing I did not like about the book was the poorly done prologue by another author.
Liam has an assignment to escort a wealthy young woman to England to marry Lord Wescott, but he needs a wife to do the job. He needs to find his own wife not like the agents before him. He asks his college study partner and friend Anna. She accepts. They run into more trouble on this assignment than anticipated. They have adventure, excitment, danger and maybe they find love. This is a fun story and you will enjoy it.
I love this series. The Denver office has been ordered by the Pinkerton Agency that they are to hire female agents. In order to be trained they have to be trained they have to be married to their partner. They seemed to be paired with the wrong agents until they all seem to fall for each other.
Or would that be Denver? Anna was totally surprised when Liam came to her asking for help. And I think they both prospered from this agreement. Thank goodness that they were able to work together to keep Veronica safe. Great job Pinkertons! Love this second round of books! 💞
Anna had no interest in being a Pinkerton Agent, but she does have an interest in Liam who is an agent in need of a bride. Their assignment is easy, provide protection for a wealthy woman on her trip to her betrothed in England. Of course nothing is as easy at it seems. Anna and Liam have a history together, and that makes being married a tricky business too.
If you enjoyed the first series of Pinkerton Matchmaker stories, you will also enjoy this one. If the series is new to you, it’s okay to start here. You can expect a new story every week until spring. Or go back and read the first set which has about 10 books to it.
I really like the story and the connection between these two characters. But I felt like the prologue was unnecessary. I get what the author was trying to do by including it, but it really wasn’t needed and didn’t really fit with the rest of the book. Other than that I thought it was very well written.
I fell in love with this story with the different premise. I guess we're on to a second round of books in this series, and how these couples get matched up is completely different, at least this one was. The cover model is gorgeous and I couldn't wait to read this story. I definitely wasn't disappointed!
Liam hates the idea of getting married for a job and then ending the marriage. Anna doesn't like the idea either, but still barely hesitates when it comes to helping out her old friend.
This was meant to be a routine bodyguard job, except the marriage part, but things are not routine right from the start.
Wow it started off different and I'm glad Anna had a chance to leave her home. Liam was a new agent who was a friend of Anna and had a choice to find his own bride. Loved all of these series. Have not been disappointed yet
Can Liam find a woman he can marry in time for his assignment? Can Anna get out of the rut of being the eldest daughter? Follow along as they find their dreams.
College study partners reunite when Liam needs a wife for a Pinkerton assignment. Escort a young woman to England to marry but something is off she keeps getting into skirmishes. - Babs
I have read several of Ms. Adams' books and have enjoyed them all. This is a fun series and I was happy to read yet another of the set. Great characters, entertaining storyline and well written.
This was a fast, clean, enjoyable read. Just enough excitement to keep it from being borrowing, but not so much that it feels really stressful. A fun read, likeable characters, just enough surprise.
I enjoyed reading about Liam and Anna. I firmly believe that friends make the best spouses, so Liam approaching her felt right. Then there was the wonderful twist that opened and solved the case! Good job!
Another new agent an adventure to solve the mystery and protect someone while discovering that it was more than friendship taking them on this journey.
What another great book by Amelia Adams. The characters were fun and charming.a great plot with a wonderful ending. A must read. Was given a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.
