A seasoned agent, dreading the prospect of marrying to keep his job, and a feisty woman determined to make her own way in life. Will they learn to trust each other and find their own happy ending?
Delilah Fulmer is bent on escaping the rowdy home of her childhood. With little to recommend herself besides scrappiness and grit, she answers an ad to become a Pinkerton agent. But after she arrives at the Denver office, Delilah finds out a rare stipulation for her employment—she must marry her trainer. And not just any trainer, but the man she bested in a friendly wager. Jack Davis takes the news of marrying a female agent like most of the other men employed by the Denver Pinkerton Office—with complete dread. However, when a feisty and particularly lovely woman shows up a day early, Jack begins to warm to the idea. But when so much is on the line, including their very lives as they try to catch a dangerous gang of outlaws, will Delilah and Jack be able to put away foolish pride for a chance at lasting happiness?

This series has been very good so far. I've enjoyed nearly every story that I've read.
In this story Delilah has lived with four very obnoxious brothers who gave her a very hard time. She hasn't been allowed to be a lady or even learn what that means because she spent all her time trying to survive the antics of her brothers and taking care of them and her father. She has had enough and after seeing the Pinkerton ad she goes off to Colorado to find her future.
Jack is at the top of the investigators but isn't real happy when this slip of a beautiful woman shows him up. It turns out they are paired and end up married to one another and onto their job, which is tracking down a gang of very bad men.
Kate Marie Clark artfully writes a story of suspense and romance about a woman who feels the need to prove herself and an agent who was hoping for a subdued partner he could mold. Together they discover that they are actually the perfect couple. I love the playful banter between Delilah and Jack as they face the many challenges of bringing down a notorious gang. I highly recommend An Agent for Delilah! * I was given an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
Jack was a Pinkerton Detective and his new assignment was to train his new partner, Delilah. First they had to marry to take on their first assignment together. Not exactly what either of them wanted , but what was required by the Pinkerton Agency. Would Jack and Delilah make it as Pinkerton partners and would there be any thing else between them? This is a very cute story with lots of adventure and excitment. You will enjoy reading it.
When you have to survive without your mother and being raised by a father and five older brothers you have to be tough. But is Delilah tough enough to be a Pinkerton Agent? And will senior Pinkerton agent be just the person who will help her to become one....oh wait will he be man enough to handle the red haired beauty? This is an entertaining story that will make you laugh and cheers for both of them. You won’t be disappointed by not reading this book but all the books in this series.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this series and the variety of stories and authors. Each woman comes with her own skill set and doubts. So does her Pinkerton Agent husband/partner/trainer.
From the text:”So much of love had to do with saying the right things and looking the right way. Delilah’s shoulders slumped; she wasn’t great at either. Her red hair was already so different, and she butchered her words.”
This installment of the Pinkerton Matchmaker series was witty, hilarious and suspenseful. The author's writing style drew me into the story right from the beginning. The main characters had an interesting dynamic between them and the case Delilah and Jack were involved with was plausible and their sleuthing skills believable. I hated to put the book down. I highly recommend this book for a fun read.
.....a frying pan, a book and a bag of flour! Unique? Well unique certainly describes Delilah, A defensive, firey, stubborn spitfire but then you see flashes of vulnerability too. When you hear about her upbringing it is not a surprise she is prickly and fierce, but as she gets to know Jack better we see the real Delilah and she knocks Jack to his knees! An enjoyable addition to the series which I read on Kindle Unlimited.
What a fun book! I loved the characters, especially feisty Delilah. Lots of action we the bad guys and of course the beautiful romance. This book had me in stitches and pride of how Delilah could defend herself. You will love this fun book with all the antics of Delilah I couldn’t put it down!
I really enjoyed the feisty, scrappy, pint sized heroine, especially when she first met the male Pinkerton agents. 🤣🤣🤣 If tv shows were as entertaining as this series I might watch tv occasionally. It would certainly help lighten up the selection available. Enjoy 💜
After growing up the youngest and only girl with five brothers. Delilah wants to prove she is just as good as a man. She wants to become a Pinkerton agent. But she finds ou she has to marry her trainer.
Delilah was raised with five brothers who were taught not to respect women. Jack was among the unwilling agents against women Pinkertons much less as a wife. Follow these characters as they find themselves enmeshed in action and finding friendship and love.
I enjoyed this clean romance about a feisty Pinkerton recruit and her partner/husband. Lots of adventure! I felt there wasn't a lot of chemistry between the two, however. Overall, I recommend this book. Interesting story of Pinkerton detectives.
This story is a pleasure to read with great character and storyline development that kept me totally captivated until the turn of the very last page. Action packed with a few twists and turns.
Kate Marie Clark has delivered a fun book full of action with a well-written plot! Very Enjoyable charters. Look forward to reading more by this author.
Delilah is a red headed fiesta beauty totally unaware of the power of her looks! This is my favorite so far in the series. Delilah had such a fun personality, and Jack is just a super hunk. The beginning scene Ruth the hat is probably one of my favorites. This is a fast paced, clean read, with adventure and just enough romance to be sweetly alluring!
Delilah came from a family where she was always trying to prove that she could do anything her brothers could. She joined the Pinkertons to show she could do the job of a man. When Jack found out that he was to marry and train Delilah, he was hoping that once they were married, she would be a typical homemaker. When it came down to kife or death they both realized they needed each other.
Delliah grew up with 5 rough brothers. She can handle being a Pinkerton Detective. But she wasn't prepared for having to marry one of the male agents in order to go on her first case. Her rough upbringing also didn't prepare her to go undercover as a rich woman while looking for bank robbers. Jack has his hands full training his new wife. Not my favourite in the series, but still a good and clean read.
An Agent for Delilah by Kate Marie Clark July 3, 2019 5 stars
Her life before the Agency prepared her in more ways than one, but this case will challenge her in ways, she'd never expected! I am impressed with the beginning scene and all the intriguing ways Delilah comes through for her partner! This story was a joy to read!
