James Hampton's only desire is to find someplace warm and sunny far away from the madness of the Christmas season. He's worked his fingers to the bone in the party planning business this season and needs a break. Christmas is his least favorite holiday of all and when his best friend and partner suddenly married a rugged cowboy at the height of the season he'd had to marshal the troops and finish the year with a smile. A warm beach and a sunny breeze are just what he needs to recover. Brittany Marshal is full of big dreams as she works to finish her MBA in hospitality. When she decides to take a semester off to work on a tropical island everyone thinks she's lost her mind, but perhaps she's only beginning to find her heart. When she meets James, a party planner, over a pineapple mishap things really start to heat up. Can two people both on track with their own careers find something special together or will a devastating revelation separate them forever?
Danni Roan, born in rural western Pennsylvania, has always loved the country life. Her first work published under her real name, Paula Liddle-Beem, is a collection of folk essays about childhood in the lush, green mountains of PA. Being a teacher of English and English as a Second Language for the past twelve years has only inspired Danni’s love of writing Western Historical Fiction. After receiving her Masters of Education in Teaching English as a Foreign Language she determined to indulge her passion for fiction writing. Teaching both in the USA and abroad has exposed Danni to a wide range of people from all walks of life and she tries to capture that unique character in her work.
James is a party planner with his two good friends whom have both gotten married in the last couple of months. This has left James tired out from working so hard to pick up the slack. He journeys from Colorado in the midst of Winter to a tropical island to lounge on a beach. Brittany is taking a semester off from working towards her MBA in Hospitality. She just happens to be working at the hotel James is staying at. When the two meet, it is fates hand stepping in with a whoosh! James meets two people from his past and is blown away at his discovery. He decides to leave immediately and his last ditch communication with Brittany is somehow lost. Cupid arrives and he and Candy team up to bring this star crossed couple back together. Will they be successful? This book is a beautiful short and sweet story about Love and Life. I received and ARC of the book and am choosing to leave an honest review.
This was a cute story with characters who include Mr. and Mrs. Claus as well as Cupid, previously ordinary people now taking their turns playing these important roles. The young couple who fall in love are believable characters and the setting is idyllic. However, this book has serious problems with missing or misused punctuation and the substitution of homonyms or near-homonymns for the right words, such as where for were or wondered for wandered, it's (which is a contraction for "it is" and never indicates posession) for its, your's (should not have an apostrophe), and multiple uses of alright, which is a common but incorrect spelling of "all right" which makes me shudder. There were others I can't remember right now, too many to write down. Please hire a proofreader! Or start a group of beta readers to try to catch these mistakes. They are really distracting and lower the quality of the work.
Most definitely! But it is a fun and quirky crazy tale! James is strong and confident when it comes to running an event, but in his personal life he doubts he is worth love, nobody would look twice at him...would they? Brittany is a workaholic, not even noticing the men around her, until she bumps into James. Suddenly he is all she can think about, but does he even like her? He doesn't flirt and seems very shy, however when she kisses him, his kisses leave her dizzy...men are so confusing! Mrs Claus and Cupid have their work cut out for them with James, which means they need to be more hands on...and that has repercussions too! It is nice to see James get his story, which I read on Kindle Unlimited, this book does however have a number of typos, which is a little disappointing after reading the earlier books in the series.
Danni Roan delivers yet another gorgeous tale. By the time the holiday season is through, party planner James is worn out and would just like to unwind on a warm beach. Brittany, who is pursuing a master's degree, decides she needs a vacation and takes a few semesters off from school to work in a beachside hospitality setting. Love blossoms after their chance encounter over a pineapple spill. I love the fact that I learned who is behind the ornament deliveries . Definitely a lovely story. On to book 4 now.
Danni Roan is a new author to this avid reader. The Ornamental Match Maker series is a fun holiday read. Danni Roan's short paragraphs with lots of dialog moves the plot along with a few unexpected secrets or twist. Enough of the back story is included. Some mystery - who leaves the ornaments, which lead to romance. Some romance and the meddling matchmaking four L's (aunts). Definitely a beach read.
A fun read. I liked the whimsical story with sweet characters. The Clauses were sweet and warm. Mr.Q was hilarious and had me wanting to read more of him in the story. The romance was cute and all together the story had me smiling and excited for more. Was given a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.
What could,a pineapple possibly have to do with Cupid and Mrs. Claus? If you need a brief vacation every book in this series has been great. There were several totally unexpected surprises in this story. Each book in the series builds on the other yet I think most could stand alone.
James- party planner on vacation Britney - taking time off from college working to make sure this is what she wants. I enjoyed reading this engaging story that is well written with charismatic characters and magical/mystical sub characters. Their story has a sweet HEA but left some questions at the end.
Who knew falling pineapples could lead to love? But when Mrs. Claus is working her Christmas magic on a beautiful sun-filled beach, two lonely hearts don't have a chance to resist. Come fall in love with Ornamental Matchmakers series and find your happily ever after. Highly recommended!
Pineapple Persuasion, another fantastic book by Danni Roan! Such a beautiful story and wonderful characters. I am really enjoying this series, so I'll cut this short so I can start the next book. I am very happy with this authors work!
I love the new Mrs C. She is going to be a hoot. Mrs. Claus and Q/Cupid team up for action youse won't believe. You'll be surprised at who Mr. And Mrs. C are.
This is a tough couple! Mrs. Claus had to call for backup from cupid. Will the dynamic duo of Claus & Cupid get the job done? Mrs. Claus is also recognized for her true self. Will it stay a secret? This book is begging to be read!
