She wanted death. She found a body. The most wanted man in Britain floats adrift in the ocean. Moments from death, James Stone is rescued by a young woman with demons of her own.
The kindness of a stranger pulls him back from the void. But death follows him like a shadow, and as he recovers from his injuries, the scythe swings again and claims an innocent victim.
Beat, broken, and plagued by a darkness inside his mind, Stone can't let the woman who rescued him die in vain. Someone will pay, and he will find them. No matter the cost. With the police close on his tail, Stone knows it's only a matter of time before he becomes the target of every law enforcement agency in the country.
But who will find their target first, the police, or Stone?

This was a fast paced action thriller that kinda introduces the main character to a new series. Unfortunately, it never really describes the man or much of his background or even why he is supposedly the most wanted man in the United Kingdom. That was left hanging like a carrot. The action scenes are well choreographed and believable. The first person style of writing is good and the editing is clean. This is a stand-alone story and I look forward to reading more in this series.
I understand that Aftermath is the prequel to No More Shadows. A fast pace well written book. Imagine the scene the woman wants to commit suicide and saves a drowning man. More information about James Stone or back ground would be excellent, but otherwise a very interesting book. I will definitely be reading the next books in the series and recommending an author unknown to me to my friends.
Aftermath is the prequel novella to No More Shadows. It's well written, moved along at a fast pace and caught my interest from the start. James Stone is an intriguing character and I can't wait to read the next book to find out what his story is. Good start to the series.
For those who want to know: This one has violence.
James Stone is fished, unconscious, out of the sea by a prostitute who was about o commit suicide. While he is asleep, she is beaten to death. He hunts and finds the killer, all the while talking to the imaginary Wolf.
Aftermath is a brief prequel to No More Shaddows by Robert Clark and is an interesting and often violent read.It describes the main character James Stone as Britain’s most wanted criminal, but doesn’t go into any datail of James’s past and why he became Britain’s most wanted but perhaps more will be revealed in the next full length.Although a short read I would be be tempted to read the next in the series.
