I enjoyed this installment of the Kaliss series. I liked the introduction of the new characters. It will be interesting going forward to find out what each of these new species of paranormal really are. I will say that the mating in this book took back seat to the story. While that didn’t bother me and I rather enjoyed it, it made it almost impossible to feel any real connection between the three MCs. The fact that Jael could attack his mate even though he felt he had cheated on him was troubling. I also didn’t like the way they treated Helio’s use of magic, even though they explained the reason behind it. Overall, I did enjoy the story and am looking forward to the next installment.
