Come with Me

Rate this book

Walk into your office to meet your new boss (you already hate him because he’s been hired for a position YOU deserved), and guess what?

He turns out to be your ex!

No…get yourself together girl, you don’t need an office romance to complicate your already complicated life!

And certainly not with the man who broke your heart five years ago.

I am trying hard to fight my heart, it still does a somersault in my chest.

And suddenly, ‘boss’ begins to feel too formal.

The intensity of his eyes makes me want to squirm,

Not in a scary way, but in a god-I-need-you-to-touch-me way.

Being with him feels so right.

And his playing with my four year old feels just perfect.

I should be the happiest woman alive.

Wasn’t this how I wanted it to be? How it was supposed to be?

The problem?

Well, let’s say that he’s been so completely honest and open with me and I?

I’ve acted like the biggest jerk, keeping the biggest secret of my life.

A secret that would probably rock his world, hopefully for the better.

But would he be able to forgive me and take a chance with me once again?

Or would this ruin my so perfect happily ever after?

What I don't like is that she let her son believe that his father is dead. Just because he not in relationship with her doesn't mean he bad father after meeting him at work. She refuse to tell her son that Alex is his father.

[0.5 star] i totally hate this book. it actually started out ok but the more i read, the more frustrated i get.

i hate the self-questioning & self-answering. hate it in every books. it like the actual answers will pop out by asking themselves *double roll eyes*

what can be solved by just talking & hashing them out is being drag on and on and on and on till forever. (author have no ideas what to write??) the characters keep reaching to the point where they should be discussiny what happen in the past but end up either having sex or doing some other shit.

my god, i was so drained out when i finally fucking finished this damn book. never ever read another book from this author again if this is her writing style. i guess i'm the minority who did not like this book since there is so much good reviews. (note to myself: no bad reviews doesn't mean the book is worth a read)

I really liked this second chance romance. Michaela ends up working for the guy who got the job she should have received and to top it off it is the ex who left her pregnant and alone. Fast-paced read with loads of drama, had they just talked things might have been cleared up years ago, but can they move past it now. Fast-paced read with great chemistry. I liked it.

Alex and Michaela

They got their second chance five years later after events caused their hearts to come apart. The story is of them meeting again with Alex being hired at the company Michaela has worked for much of that time. They have issues from the past to resolve, family relationships to consider, and in the end is a poignant love story that gives all the feels.

Michaela Green and Alex Landon are reunited after a misunderstanding tore them apart 5 years ago in this second chance, secret baby romance by Katy Kaylee.

Passed over for a promotion at the winery she works for, Michaela is surprised when the new CEO turns out to be her former lover, Alex. They'd been lovers right out of college but when they both went to separate grad schools on opposite coasts there was a misunderstanding and they broke up. Being led to believe that Michaela had cheated on him,  Alex broke it off with her by text and blocked her number so she was unable to let him know a few weeks after their breakup that she was pregnant with their baby. Now she makes a life for herself and their son AJ, who is now four years old.

Passion explodes between these two the same that it had 5 years ago so they obviously still have a spark for each other. The love scenes I'd rate 4.5 out of five for steam and heat. (But take out the love scenes the story is pretty thin.) The misunderstanding that drove them apart is pretty obvious from the beginning, at least it was for me and the timing of events from 5 years before was a little hard to follow. Who broke up with whom first wasn't quite clear.

Small rant here. Why do authors write stories about curvy heroines and go out of their way to show them eating unhealthfully?

Come With Me is well-written and enjoyable.  It's my first Katy Kaylee romance and I'll be happy to read more from her.

Thanks Booksprout for the opportunity to read and provide my honest review of this story.

I wanted to like this book. It had so much potential. Unfortunately, I was so taken back by the forth chapter, I wanted to put the book away. I forced myself to finish reading the book because I knew it had to get better. First, you haven't seen a man in 5-years and are hiding a big secret. Then the first time you practically see him, you have "relations". What in the world?! Then you spend weeks with the guy, but you can't tell him your HUGE secret?! The book just got worse and worse for me. To say I was disappointed was a major understatement and do not recommend.

A second chance for Alex and Michaela who were college sweethearts separated by a manipulative girl. Five years later fate brings them back together again when he becomes her boss. Emotional at times and heartwarming at others. Secrets and some twists add to the drama. A good book that I enjoyed as an advance reader copy via Booksprout and voluntarily chose to review.

A misunderstanding, heartbreak, secrets, drama, angst, twists, hot chemistry, passion, forgiveness, well-developed characters... everything an office/second chance romance should have.

I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.

Ok read

There wasn’t too much to this book, they were either having sex or whiny about their past. I felt the only adult characters were the sister Daniella or Alex’s Mom. Not a lot of substance.

Misunderstanding between people that claimed to want forever together. Why can't they just talk?
Needs more editing.

4 years ago, Alex and Michaela were in love. He was going off to New York to grad school - only 2 years and then they'd have forever. Except not long after he left, dear friend Cami showed Alex a picture of Michaela cheating on him. He blocked Michaela's number and went on with his life. Meanwhile, dear friend Cami showed Michaela a picture of Alex cheating. Two people who were looking at forever together never checked to see what was going on. What is wrong with these people?

And so, a new hire for a job Michaela was hoping for turns out to be...Alex! It isn't long before they are picking up their relationship - although both are thinking the other cheated. They don't talk about the past. It takes some time before the truth comes out. Not to mention that Michaela had Alex's child. She is afraid to tell him because she doesn't want him to leave again and hurt their son. Anyway, Alex eventually has to decide if he will let the machinations of dear friend Cami win the day, or if he will forgive and embrace love.

Easy, quick read. Questionable decision making on everyone's part. But, fiction. Enjoy.

Cute second chance story

Realistic tough struggles when college graduate Michaela Green finds out her parents are killed in an auto accident, the love of her life leaves for graduate school on the opposite coast, she's pregnant, gets a breakup text from baby daddy/love of her life. She still needs to finish graduate school. Obstacles galore doesn't stop Michaela but it takes knowing her new boss is also her baby's daddy is epic. It all comes to head where Michaela must make a choice to tell her new boss, Alex Landon he is the father to her son, AJ. Of course no good story is without conflict. So add in an ex girlfriend and hateful female coworker. As these two rekindle their love they do fine to face adversity and the reason why they broke up. It's a good story. A bit heavy on the sex. Some minor typos. There is comedic lines that make the story enjoyable to break the tension and seriousness of the content. There are scenes that get the main characters back on track and offer a kick in the pants or advice. It's something I'm glad to have read once but personally it wasn't what I'd expected.

A second chance romance worth reading!

A second chance romance worth reading! Such a wonderful story, it was enjoyable from the start and only got better as the story developed to more with the surprises that kept me interested in Alex and Michaela journey. Their characters were likable and had great chemistry. I loved their HEA!

Consuming

This story was consuming. I loved Michaela and Alex but AJ made it even better. Katy’s mind gave us some real evil with Cami for sure but she turned fate around and love prevailed. I absolutely loved this story. Second chances are my favorite books to read and this was one of my favorites.

Finding out you didn't get the position you deserve at work sucks, but finding out it went to your ex can be pretty devastating! Especially the way Michaela and Alex left things. But when the sparks fly again, they both can't deny what they feel for one another. And when Michaela's secret is revealed, it forces Alex to make an important choice.

Loved it.

This is a really cute story. Some wasted time and miscommunication led to problems in their relationship but both MC’s worked hard to overcome them to a very satisfying HEA.

This can be a tear jerker

Good story. I can understand why Mic didn't tell Alex about AJ. They were both in the wrong, but, Camo is the real culprit. Cali is so lucky that Michaela is such a good person. She got off easy. In the end it all worked out.

This was a good book I would of enjoyed it more if she had of put Gloria in her place for always talking bad about her. Cami really needed her butt kicked playing all friendly while being a backstabbing bitch.

Loved Michaela!

I loved that Michaela was so strong! I loved that the chemistry was still there. The fact that AJ took to Alex was a plus. Michaela and Alex had a lot to work out. They made it to the other side.
Thank you Ms. Kaylee for another great story.
