Best part of this was the written piece at the end by Bryan Young about how each viewer's interpretation of Ben Solo is deeply personal, with no interpretation being invalid.
I’m a comic book novice, so I don’t feel like I can critique too much. I enjoyed it and how they captured the Solo snark. I do wonder if anyone will be able to capture how Adam represented him on screen though, visually and in character.
4.5 This was my least favorite of the Age of Resistance: Villains collections, mainly due to the lack of focus on Kylo Ren. The Snoke story felt more like a Kylo one.
Loved seeing the shadow of vader still following his grandson. It's interesting to see the ways in which kylo is outsmarting vader, i think it's definitely something we'll see play out in the rise of skywalker.
Amyway, it feels very reverse anidala-esque and i'm here for it!
I know Kylo isn't the most well rounded character. He's flawed, very flawed, but I think that's what makes him so interesting.
Can I just say that Zillo Beast was wild! I loved it! Obviously I knew Kylo wasn't going to die, but it was pretty cool!
I just strongly dislike the constant need to follow in Darth Vader's footsteps, but appreciated the fact that Kylo says he will surpass where vader failed. I thought that was a good bit.
Again, I don't care for the art style on Kylo's face. Again, I will say that no amount of artwork would do Adam Driver's face justice, but still it looks a bit off even more a comic style.
Either way, that was my only thing with this comic. I loved it and Kylo/Ben is a badass! Love him!
The art didn’t do justice to Adam Driver’s looks. His face was poorly drawn. I have read a ton of comic books and I am used to people being drawn differently, but this was insanely, out-of-question, wrong. Also, he looked way older than Kylo Ren is supposed to be. Other than that, I loved the story.
I laughed so much while reading this. He is such a dumbass, but I like his sense of humor. This adventure was simple and fun. But why is it so hard for artists to capture Adam Driver's likeness? They seem to be doing just fine with anyone else, but Kylo Ren always ends up looking like wrinkly middle-aged man.
I wasn't a fan of the Zillo Beast episodes of The Clone Wars, but it was nice to see one pop up. It would've been nice to find out that this was the cloned beast that Palpating wanted, but there is no such mention, as far as I can tell. This issue actually shares parallels with the first issue of Darth Vader: Dark Visions. So it was interesting to see a similar theme. And there are bits of good humor.
A nicely done Kylo Ren comic. - 3 out of 5 star rating.
Heavy emphasis on Kylo following in Vader's footsteps. Pretty cool alien world/race introduced in this one as well. I'd be curious to see more of them and what happens next with the aliens more so than Kylo. Kylo... basically behaved per usual as a young Sith trying to 'prove himself to a dead man.'
A really nice story although after what the Rise Of Skywalker did with the character making him be only a reboot of Vader, this comic that, shows that Ben could achieve what Anakin did never, becomed pointless.
Interesting links to past ages in the Star Wars universe. Not necessarily a memorable story, but it pushes the character in what feels like the right direction.
