She only has weeks to live thanks to a freak infection that totally and completely destroyed her kidneys.
Despite her family’s desperation, not a single one of them is a match.
In a last-ditch attempt, Oakley’s father takes to social media to beg for help to save his daughter’s life. ***
Pace Vineyard is lost. So lost, in fact, that he’s not sure he wants to be found.
But then a beautiful woman’s face is splashed across social media, and Pace finds a spark in his soul for the first time since a bomb went off beside him.
He’s already missing two legs. What’s one more kidney?
At least, that’s what he tells himself.
What he doesn’t expect is to give his heart to the woman, too. Or for the woman to run away with it and force him to follow.
Lani Lynn Vale is married to the love of her life that she met in high school. She fell in love with him because he was wearing baseball pants. Ten years later they have three perfectly crazy children and a cat named Demon who likes to wake her up at ungodly times in the night. They live in the greatest state in the world, Texas. She writes contemporary and romantic suspense, and has a love for all things romance. You can find Lani in front of her computer writing away in her fictional characters world...that is until her husband and kids demand sustenance in the form of food and drink.
Pace was the kind of man any woman would be not only happy and proud to call her own, but one every decent single woman in the entire universe absolutely deserves!! Oakley needed a kidney in order to live and she was lucky in that Pace had an extra one to give. Pace was former military whose life was changed forever by a bomb. But this man didn't let anything get him down. Not his rotten upbringing, not his leech of a mom and sister, not even losing part of his legs. He was sweet, kind, generous, and extremely loving. After falling for Oakley before he'd even officially met her, when he found out he could help her, he couldn't get to her fast enough. And from surgery to recovery, these two fell into such an easy way of loving each other that I couldn't help but give their story all of the stars I possibly could.
LLV has a way of creating stories that seem to follow a formula and yet I'm delightfully surprised every time. Not once do I feel like I've been here before or that her stories seem recycled. How she keeps giving me a fresh perspective truly baffles me, but I'm not complaining. From her, I can always expect super fine heroes and their equally superb heroines. Fast paced energy tinged with a bit of danger. This story had a stalker vibe and a scary climax, which at once felt strange and familiar, but it all added up to be one fantabulous read. I never wanted this story to end. I wanted to live in Pace's orbit for just a little while longer. I wanted more of him and Oakley and their amazing family. I'm blown away by how in love I am with these people and I feel so blessed to have found this author's books. After getting a preview of the next book in the series, Make Me, I'm so ready to dive back into LLV's words.
If you love your romance hot and sweet with a bit of suspense to stir things up, you don't want to pass on this book. Pace is a dirty boy on blades (honestly, this character is PHENOMENAL) and Oakley's an absolute sweetheart!
Oakley and Pace gave me those good vibes of a couple meant to be together from the beginning. I love the origins of their history and who was the first to fall for the other. Oakley was at a critical point in her life and Pace couldn’t have been a better knight. He was the total package and their chemistry was strong.
The plot caught and kept my attention consistently. The pacing and writing solid. Character development was good. I admire LLVs style because she makes every one of her many books different. How she comes up with such creative stories is something to be respected even if I’m not in love with every single book (though most are winners for me, don’t get me wrong).
All in all this was another great addition to the KPD series. I can’t wait to read what comes next.
Complementary copy received and voluntarily reviewed.
Oakley and Pace's book. As I was reading this book last night,my husband came into the room.I told him I was reading a love story where the heroine has end stage renal disease, that dialysis is no longer working for her and she is going to die if she does not get a kidney transplant asap. The hero is a wounded war vet who is now a bilateral BKA due to a road side bomb. He says to me" how is that a romance?"I shook my head at him and carried on. So,despite this grim outlook for this couple, LLV managed to write a beautiful romance between this unlikely pair. The couple have a prior history via the heroine's brother who was in the army with the hero. She used to send her brother care packages and always managed to send something to the hero in a roundabout way.She once send as a gag gift to her brother, a toy bunny rabbit ,and as her brother was playfully throwing the toy at the hero, that was when the roadside bomb went off. When they found the hero,he was clutching the toy in his hand, and that bunny became his talisman and went with him everywhere. One day as he was on his social media ,he saw an appeal from the heroine's father about a kidney donation for his critically ill daughter, who just happens to be his friend's sister. He decides to get tested to see if he is a possible match. The hero turns out to be a match donor to the heroine as her family members were non match. The day of the surgery he turns up at the hospital much to the surprise of his friend and his family. They are surprised and overjoyed ,the heroine's Mom immediately claims him as part of the family. From the moment these 2 locked eyes on each other just before the surgery, that was it, and you saw the progression of their romance. The hero was so besotted with the heroine, you jyst know that he would do anything for his love. There were parts that had me tearing up ugly tears. Great epilogue with the hero running the Boston marathon and cheering him on,his 1 year old baby girl, his wife and her family.

Gaaahhhhhh! THIS BOOK, people!!! You NEED this book in your lives!!! It is PERFECTION!! Pace and Oakley are the BEST of the best together, the purest of #RelationshipGoals I tell you!!!!
This series is fast becoming my LLV fav, with all these swoon worthy heroes! From the very first page I fell HARD for Pace. He was what my literally dreams are made of. The way he was introduced, and is connection with Oakley even was written so incredibly naturally, that I FELT fate weaving their lives together, and after he sees Trance’s plead and jumps right in even after all the pain he had endured so far, wow, just wow. How could we resist?! We truly can’t, serendipity working its way, sure, but the devotion and full on adoration? That was all Pace! *heart eyes*
Something about Oakley Spurlock did things to my soul. Things that actually made me want to participate in life instead of just watch it pass me by.
“I think so, too,” he admitted. “I’ve done nothing but hold onto that goddamn rabbit for years now. It’s been with me everywhere. And every time I have it in my hand, I think of you. And when I saw that you were sick, days away from dying, I had this feeling that urged me to do it. To help you. Now, look where I am. I’m with you.”
My highlights are basically every single line that came out of his mouth, for real, this man was pure ‘book boyfriend’ gold! I believe he is now at the TOP of my fav LLV Heroes, and that’s saying a lot with how many times Ms. Vale made me fall ardently in love with her male characters. There is just something on how she writes them that they feel ideal, but yet so real and tangible, making them irresistible and oh so addictive.
“You’re beautiful and kind. You’re everything that I’ve ever wanted in a woman. I used to dream about the perfect life. And there was always someone exactly like you in my dreams. Someone that would love me for me. (…) You’re the most beautiful and precious thing I’ve ever had in my life.”
Oakley, daughter of one of my fav couples, Viddy and Trance, is just as fantastic as her parents were, I loved everything about her, from her quirks, to her bluntness, her sweetness and her passion, and as ever with Lani Lynn Vale’s female main characters, she was so relatable, that we can’t help but feel like she’s part of us, and feel right there with her and for her in her intense scenes. She was just as devoted and passionate as Pace, and gave herself so freely to this man and their feeling immediately after meeting, but we truly felt why, because it was meant to be. They we always meant to be. Proof in point, him being the perfect match for her kidney, and saving her life, just like in a way, she – even unknowingly – saved his. And they got each other in the end. Talk about Fate, ‘Silver Lining’, ‘Full Circle’ kind of thing. Epic love story right here!
“I love when you smile at me. I love when you throw yourself in my arms, knowing without a single doubt in your mind that I’ll catch you. I love that you talk to me like I’m your closest confidant and your best friend. I love that you called your dad to talk about us and not your mom. I love that you love me.”
I’d Rather Not, with its perfect balance of emotional charge that brings tears to your eyes, but you know without a doubt it will be worth it; funny and lighthearted moments that leave you warm and happy; steamy, scorching hot sex scenes and moments that will leave you hot and bothered; and that trademark Lani Lynn Vale gripping suspense, that give you heart palpitations and right on the edge of you seats, this book was without a doubt one of my favorite reads of this year. So packed full of deliciously intriguing and enticing secondary characters – beside the Trance and Viddy’s scenes which I soaked up to the max, lol – like Ford, Justice and Lock, that leave us begging to know their story, these books are as addictive as they get. Case in point I NEED of their books NOW!!! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
“I’d give up my life for just one of your breaths,”
“Keep dreaming, Pace.” He squeezed me tight. “I don’t need to dream, baby. I’m already living the perfect life.”

I have such a hard time with this author's books lately. I'm honestly now sure why, or what changed...but they're so hit or miss for me.
I didn't hate this one, but I can't say I loved it either.
I have to say that the beginning was good. I enjoyed getting to know Pace. I actually really liked him. I'm not sure I really felt the connection between him and Oakley though. And I'm not quite sure that I ever really got to know Oakley. When she was first told she needed a new kidney, she was lamenting about what she was going to lose (her job, the life she currently had), which was fine, normal even...I had no problems with that. But she commented twice about how she had worked so hard to get her degree and the job she'd wanted...but I never know what that was, what she was really losing. It was all just vague and it left me feeling like I didn't really know her.
I found the middle of the story to be a little boring, it seemed to drag a little. Oakley really wanted to sleep with Pace, but he was trying to take it slow and I was just a little bored with it. That was Oakley's biggest concern.
Once things started to pick up with Pace's family showing up again, things started moving quickly and they got really interesting.
The other complaint I have, is that the author is now focusing on the second generation characters, and because she has so many books, I'm having a hard time connecting the parents with their own books. And when the parents, aunts, uncles, MC club members start showing up, I feel like I need a diagram/family tree to keep all of them straight.
Overall, this wasn't a bad book, and I'm sure to be in the minority on my feelings about it, so give it a try, you'll probably love it.
Lani Lynn Vale rocks the house with this epic book. This is one hot, page turning, captivating and drama filled storyline that really make the grade. This book hooks you from the start and reels you in for the duration of the story and leaves you wanting the next book right now. Lol. The characters are intriguing, complex and realistic and perfect for each other. Love this author and this series, which is one of my favourites by her. Nearly all of them are a favourite of mine as she brings so many emotions, drama and romance to her stories that just has me coming back for more and will do in the future too. Happy reading!!
"Everything, when it came to Pace Vineyard, was big. His heart. His Cock. The orgasms that he gave."
Tell me, who could read the synopsis for this book and not want to devour it? It's a swoon-worthy, heart-melting, laugh-inducing ride that you don't want to miss out on, guaranteed. How the author manages to always tackle such serious topics that inform the reader while also providing nonstop entertainment is noteworthy. I can't get enough of her storytelling, she's amazing.
Oakley has a big, loving, supportive family that would do anything for her. But, unfortunately, they aren't a medical match for what she needs. Her father is so desperate to save his baby-girl that he reaches out over social media, hoping for a miracle. As time is running out, the last person any of them expects to save the day shows up with a smile and a kidney.
Pace is perfection. No, that's not just my opinion. Oakley thinks so as well. And if you were to take a poll, I'm sure that a large number of the women that love to ogle him in his tight-fitting KDP Motorcycle Patrol uniform would cast their vote too. He's got the goods and the heart to match. Who could resist?
Well, there is one person who doesn't hold him in such high regard. Yeah, just wait until you meet that jerk. The line for those wanting to punch him in the face would wrap around the block a few times, if it actually existed.
These amazing characters that the author has created feel like family. This story touched me deeply. I'm still sitting here patting my chest to ease the ache, with a smile on my face. I can't wait to meet Royal in Make Me. The line forms here...
Lani Lynn Vales stories are legit kindle crack for me. I love the romance, the swoons and how they make me feel. Oakley and Pace's story was amazing. I laughed and teared up. I love how different this author's storylines are but are so engaging and compelling you can't help but become addicted to the story at the first glance.
This story was so good. When Pace Vineyard decides to donate a kidney to the sister of a friend but he never thought Oakley Spurlock would change his world. After having lost his feet in an explosion, he never thought he'd feel the spark in his heart like he does when he sees Oakley. When the opportunity to help her comes along, he doesn't hesitate.
GAH!! Overall, I loved this story!! The sass and swoons and everything in the middle. This is another LLV winner! 5 stars! ~Ratula
When an author I love and trust starts a blurb out like that it simultaneously catches my attention and makes my stomach drop. I was slightly scared to start I’D RATHER NOT but I’m so glad I went on this amazingly emotional, sweet and sexy journey with Pace and Oakley.
I’D RATHER NOT is about a lost man finding a dying girl, about fate, family and friendship. It’s about loving someone more than you love yourself. Most importantly it’s about HOPE and LOVE!
In almost every Lani Lynn Vale book I enjoy the humor and the connections between everyone in the story. The same goes for I’D RATHER NOT however I really enjoyed the conversations between Oakley and Pace they had honesty and trust between them from the get go. The sexual side of their relationship was a slow build and it perfectly fit them, but once they got there, woooweeee! Hot, hot, hot, I loved their sex talk as much as I did their day to day talk.
I’D RATHER NOT is part of a series but can be read as a standalone.
This book was great. I have been really excited about this hero Pace and without having any idea what his story would be about I have been waiting for his book. This story did not disappoint. I loved the story line in this book and how Lani Lynn Vale tied everything together. This is a great read with two great characters who have an amazing story of falling in love. This is just one of those sweet romance reads that just worked all around.
When I started reading this author's books I simply loved them all but unhappily I was displeased as many OW dramas began to be added to the point that I totally gave up. I was really reluctant to start this series but the feeling I have now is pure delight. Almost a nostalgia for a time when I could read a novel and end up with a light and thrilled heart .. Believing in love and believing that there really are decent people out there. I think my biggest criticism of novels and my greatest pain is that the authors simply seem to discredit that love really exists. Love that worthy of being dreamed, admired, lived, reread or revived. And because I truly believe in this love I feel so angry when I read someone who tries to misrepresent and discredit it because of these corrupted values. This book is special and has everything I admire most in a story, strong characters that make their weaknesses a reason for their growth and not an excuse to treat others in a disrespectful and insignificant way. I admire that in my real life and even more on the books I read. I think the biggest challenge for writers today is really reaching the hearts of readers in a deep but good way after all any bad news in the papers can irritate and indignate us. So thank you Lani for making me believe again. This book is beautiful. Thank you for bringing me back the feeling of reading with pleasure and finishing a reading with a light heart. It makes a lot of difference in people who love romance and it seems to me that you know that very well.
And for you girls who in real life want to send some of these special packages there is a website http://www.anysoldier.com/index.cfm (I don't know if it really is a valid site but I think the intention is beautiful so if any of you succeed tell us!)
Glad to see Trance and Viddy' s(from Kevlar To My Vest) kids were all grown up. H and h were both so strong, esp H, never did he feel self-conscious about his situation; instead, he saved h and encouraged her whenever she needed. Moreover, I liked how they stayed together and no push-away. Great epilogue, too!
If you’re looking for a sweet sassy sexy laugh out loud read with characters that will make your heart melt then this is the book for you.
Lani Lynn Vale creates characters that just feel so real. The banter is off the charts.
Oakley and Pace were perfect for each other both in body (specifically kidney) and soul. Throw in Pace’s crazy mother and sister....a jerk of a boss and you have shenanigans galore.
This book is the perfect read while lounging at the pool or just curled up on your couch. It just made me smile so hard.
“You’re crazy,” I told him. “I’m nothing special.” He swirled his tongue around the peak of my nipple and laughed. “You’re everything special.”
I am obsessed with Pace and Oakley’s story! Hands down my favorite LLV novel. From page one I was hooked and there no letting go. I adore the sweet and kind nature of Pace. I LOVE how he made me swoon with his actions, because sometimes words are meaningless. So say that I am obsessed is an understatement.
“I love when you smile at me. I love when you throw yourself in my arms, knowing without a single doubt in your mind that I’ll catch you. I love that you talk to me like I’m your closest confidant and your best friend. I love that you called your dad to talk about us and not your mom. I love that you love me.”
The story was so touching. Their love grew and grew and it made my heart so happy! I was literally swooning! Pace and Oakley were PERFECT for each other. I also adored Oakley’s protective nature. SHE WAS SO KICKASS! Girl stood up for her man and DIDN’T back down! Hands down the best!
“You taste good,” he said. “What do I taste like?” I teased. “Like mine,” he growled. “I am yours,” I agreed. “I’ve been yours since the very beginning.” “Damn straight,” he said, trailing his tongue along the valley between my breasts. “You’re always going to be mine, too.”
I've been loving this series so much and I've been devouring every single one like candy. I'd Rather Not was such a heartwarming read and you can't help but swoon over Pace, a little bit. A man who has lost so much, but offers so much more. He's definitely a man with a heart of gold.
I loved Oakley as well and every single person that surrounded her. She's just pure gold and has endured so much with her life because of her failing kidneys.
The love between Pace and Oakley was inevitable and a bit of an insta-love. Seriously, when it comes to these two, you just get this warm feeling about them. They couldn't be more perfect for one another and the immense support that they got was beautiful.
Be still my beating heart this book is so damn special to me!. Honestly Trance and Viddy are my second favourite couple ever or Lani's so it's only fitting that Pace and Oakley are up there with them right?. I thought so to.
As parents we would go to the end of the earth for our children right?. So what happens when the life of your child is completely out of you control and there is absolutely nothing you can do to save them?. Oakley needs a new kidney to live and the man who saves her is the man she unknowingly saved in someways herself. You know when two people and just ment to be? That is Pace and Oakley.
Pace is a phenomenal character. Selfless, determined, headstrong and so fucking sweet I swear women pray for me like him every damn day of the lives. Oh and did I mention dirty? Like the naked sweaty good kind of nasty?.
Oakley is just a sweetheart. She most definitely follows her mamma and I so love that. Kind and strong that girl got the soul of a warrior. Despite everything she had endured she keeps going!.
This story will leave you feeling all kinds of raw and exposed emotionally. The characters as always are wonderful and give so much life to the story. The story itself hits you right in the feels with so much emotional depth you forget for a short while that it's fiction. As always it brings Lani's classic witt, saucy romancing and heartstopping emotion. It's a rollercoaster so be prepared for that ride.
This book made me realize one thing, and that is that I absolutely need that angst and stress of a romance novel. I need to feel like the main characters are well and truly fighting to be together so I can essentially feel all the emotions that they are feeling.
Sadly.. I’d Rather Not does not do that. While I get the appeal of a straight to happily ever after novel.. it just makes me feel like I’m reading something so fake and unrealistic. To me, a good book is marked by the parallels you can make to real life (unless it’s fantasy of course), by the emotions that scream off the page. Having the characters be in love with each other before they go on an actual date after one donated a kidney to the other? It all sounds like a heavy dosage of pain medication and misplaced gratitude not a true love story.
This author may just not be for me, but if you love straight to HEA stories then you’ll love these books.
This one really pulled me in from the start. I liked that Pace was smitten with Oakley and he didn't know her, just what he could glean from Ford.
I hated that Pace had to go through the accident and what happened afterward, you could tell it affected him in many ways. Later when he was on the mend and back to living a life I was in awe as that he didn't even think twice about getting tested to see if he was a match for Oakley nor about giving her one of his kidneys.
Now you wouldn't think that something so invasive like this would change his life like it did, but giving away his kidney was the best thing for Pace. It brought him back to his friend Ford, brought Ford's family to him (loved how they immediately adopted him) and it also brought him Oakley. Their romance was slow, but I think it needed to as both had issues. They danced around their issues for a bit, but once they addressed them it was full speed ahead with Oakley's family firmly in their corner.
I could have done without the drama at the end, but when Pace was getting to Oakley...man got to me. I was so glad that these two were able to find their HEA and take full advantage of it!!
Lani Lynn Vale has created the most refreshing love story! I'm quite new to her books; however, it's like a breath of fresh air when starting. Let me tell you, Oakley and Pace have the sweetest love story! They truly make my heart melt. I loved every page, and devoured it completely this weekend. LLV jams her books full of humor, sweetness, HAWTNESS, and a little dash of suspense. I'd Rather Not is the complete package.
Oakley and Pace have quite a unique meeting. They don't have a typical love story, it's one that wrapped my heart up in a huge hug! Oakley is one strong boss babe. I love her hard! She stands up for herself, she goes after what she wants, she's a fighter. Pace has longed for Oakley for years. His chance to sweep her off her feet comes in the most unusual way. A way that has them bonded for life, while creating the perfect opportunity for them to fall in love. I literally squealed everytime he took care of her.
This book had me melting, swooning, and giggling hard. I loved every bit; LLV's writing is spot on. I'm so addicted to these characters, I'm dying for more. I can't wait for the next book in the series.
I’d Rather Not is one of those books that is emotional, passionate, soul-stirring and will have you besotted with Pace and Oakley from the very start. We also get to visit with a few of our old favourites along the way. Their story is packed full of heart, family and sacrifice. I cried, laughed and cried some more. Pace was one of those characters that you couldn’t help but give your heart to. The only thing I’d rather not do was have this story end. If you want a romance story with it all, that will take you through every emotion and leave you feeling like you just ran a marathon and won then what are you waiting for.
Lani Lynn Vale always hits the mark on the perfect man! Elizabeth @Carolina Chic's Read
Another perfect man .... Sighs! How do we always get a home run? Pace fell for his girl with one look at her photo. When he has the chance to save her life, he jumps and fall he does.
Oakley is hanging on to her life but only for a few days, then a miracle happens by the name of Pace. She didn't expect to fall in love with him at first sight.
This series has just been missing the mark for me. This book had some really great moments - including Oakley and Pace’s first meet and at the climax when he is fighting to protect her. However, it got boring in the middle. There was not a whole lot happening.
I’ve been reading Lani Lynn Vale’s work since she released her first book, and I’ve read them all. I’m completely invested in this world that she’s created in East Texas and Louisiana, and her books are the literary equivalent of must-see TV for me. I’ve been reading about these characters, their stories and their communities for years now, and each book is like catching up with a group of old friends. The KPD Motorcycle Patrol series is a next generation series based upon the stories of the children of the lead couples from Vale’s early series, KPD SWAT and the Heroes of the Dixie Wardens MC.
One thing Lani does exceptionally well is matching her couples. I’d Rather Not pairs a double-amputee hero with a heroine in desperate need of a kidney, and I was riveted by their story. There were so many connections between this couple before they even met, and their love story had a strong fated feeling to it that I absolutely loved. These two needed each other, in more ways than one, and the two of them were kindred spirits of sorts. The lengths that Pace went to in order to save Oakley’s life were the epitome of a grand gesture. Kind, patient, protective and generous, Pace was an utterly swoon-worthy hero, and Oakley, the one woman who saw beyond his physical imperfections to the perfect-for-her man beneath, was his ideal match.
This romance begins an unconventional first meeting, but Pace’s feeling for his friend’s sister began years early as he lived vicariously through him to experience Oakley’s love and care. For her part, she learned about the lonely soldier in her brother’s unit from him, and she started to include things he’d like in her care packages to her brother. Years later, when Pace learns about Oakley’s plight, he doesn’t hesitate to find a way to help. This is where Vale creates her magic–by delivering a knee-weakeningly romantic love story rooted in, of all things, an organ donation, and as strange as that sounds, it totally works. She peppers this story with plenty of screen time from Oakley’s parents, fan favorites, Trance and Viddy, and weaves a suspenseful subplot into the background that brings more favorite characters into play.
I’d Rather Not is an engaging mix of the past and the future, and Vale fills the pages with all of the heat, heart and humor that her suspenseful romances are known for. I loved everything about Pace and Oakley’s love story, and this series is quickly becoming a favorite. I’d Rather Not by Lani Lynn Vale gets five smooches from me! ~ Danielle Palumbo
Ok WOW I'd Rather Not was amazing loved everything about it it's written by one of my all time favorite authors Lani Lynn Vale and it's part of the KPD Motorcycle patrol series and it's a next gen series ( Kevlar To My Vest couples daughter ) . This can be read as standalone I do recommend that you read every one of LLV books you don't want to miss them . I really liked the characters and the storyline like I always do when it comes to this authors stories but this one has to be one of my favorites . There is everything in this book from shocks you don't see coming to , sex scenes that are fire HOT , characters that you really connect to , and of course humor you will die laughing while reading the shenanigans this people get up to . I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book **************************************** hero=10 heroine=10 secondary characters=10 Chemistry=10 steam=8 romance=8 humor=7 darkness level=4 action=4 mystery=4 enjoyment=10 angst=3 story line=10 Story ending=10 character development=10 pacing=10 cover=10 Blurb = 10 Stars =5 Is this part of a series =yes Can it be read as a standalone = yes would I recommend this book=yes would I re read this book=yes would I read future books by this author= yes
Instead of saying I’d Rather Not, for me it’s an I’d rather yes! Okay so the book whore is a big dork but still I loved it. Sometimes fate intercedes when it is needed and for Oakley it happened at the right time. Pace, god I fell in love with this man big time. The hell he has gone through, you would think that he would be hardened but the goodness of this man will surprise you. With every Lani Lynn Vale book that I read, the more that I absolutely love her books. The males are swoon worthy, the females are hilarious, and together they end up being the total package and absolutely perfect for each other.
Normally I write this long review for her books, but I honestly believe the next sentence is enough. If you are looking for a romance that makes you believe it fate and soulmates, I’d Rather Not is the book for you, it is one of my favorite books from Lani Lynn Vale and one I highly recommend!
This third book in the KPD Motorcycle Patrol series was touching, funny, sexy & heart-warming. It made me catch a case of the feels (especially in the first half) & had me eagerly anticipating the epilogue in the second (because I really wanted to hear the pitter-patter of little feet for these two).
I loved Pace. I loved Oakley. I adored them together. They made for a cute couple & had such a believable & easy-going chemistry with one another that it made me really want to hang out with them in real life.
It was awesome getting to spend more time with the rest of the Spurlocks & Luke Roberts, as they are some of my favorite characters in Lani Lynn Vale's books.
My only real complaint... It wasn't long enough. I felt like they had more story to tell, so I was disappointed when it came to an end semi-abruptly.
Looking forward to the next book in the series, Make Me, featuring Justice! Really hope his parents share some page time with him because I love them!!
Side Note: LOVED "She can't be left alone with cake. -My Jeans" chapter heading. *snaughles*
Let the book hangover begin. Lani Lynn Vale took a bar that was already set sky high, laughed at it and leaped 100 feet higher with I’d Rather Not. She’s knocked all my favorite book boyfriends to the side a firmly planted Pace as number one king of Book boyfriends. She went and shoved all my favorite heroines to the ground and put Oakley in the number one spot there too. What I’m saying here is this is my number one favorite Lani book ever. (It hurt less than I thought it would saying that BTW) Saying Oakley and Pace are sweet is the understatement of the century. They’re like a giant cupcake with a a mountain of frosting, covered in sprinkles and topped with cotton candy. I legitimately cried over how sweet they were. Especially Pace. The love he has for Oakley shines from the pages of this book before they even meet. Then it just continues to grow into one of the most selfless and beautiful loves I have ever read. This book is an absolute must read!
