There is just something about the Angel Pack that just resonates within me. I love all of the characters, I am invested in their well-being, and seeing such big men, and quite a few tiny ones, live their authentic lives in this crazy, paranormal universe just warms me up inside.
The last book was very apocalyptic, but this one showed us that almost everything was back to normal for the guys…almost. As per usual, nothing is ever easy for our men and their mates. They tend to have to walk through hell, sometimes literally, before they finally get to their happy place. In this case, ginormous Fae warrior, Sasha, and petite and nerdy, Samuel have accepted each other as mates, but have not officially consummated their union due to past issues with Samuel’s horrific past. And then, just as things are starting to look bright for their future, in walks Mike.
Mike is the old friend of Jesse and Taylor, the one we always heard about, but never met…until now. And he comes bearing secrets and throws a big monkey wrench in the mating of Sasha and Samuel. Yep, typical Angel Pack, which is why I love it so much. Read this series, it is fun and romantic and a little unrealistic, but isn’t that why we read in the first place? Go for it, I dare you.
So happy to finally be able to get this book. It’s just as good as the rest of the series and ends with a cliffhanger...more to come! I loved the story and follow up with other characters. It had some interesting developments that I can’t wait to read more about, but I won’t spoil the story for others. If you have read the series, this is great. If you haven’t, you should start from the beginning. Before the next book, I plan to reread all of them.
Rating: 3.5 stars It was good to get the gang back together and read about the Angel Pack again. I liked the book okay, but it wasn’t without problems. I think my main one was the use of flashbacks to tell the story. At one point we just jump ahead into a confrontation with no setup and then later we flashback to what happened to get to that point. I hate that kind of writing. I don’t mind when flashbacks are used to show a different person’s perspective but don’t just skip major plot points and then decide to tell them in a flashback. Also, I just wasn’t feeling the chemistry between Mike and the other two in the triad. Sasha and Sammy were great together, I just didn’t care for Mike. So while there were parts of the story that I liked, there were definitely parts that I didn’t.
