Tara Pammi can't remember a moment when she wasn't lost in a book, especially a romance which, for a teenager, was much more exciting than mathematics textbook. Before long, she was hiding romance novels within bigger textbooks, smuggling them into the home through her unsuspecting younger cousin’s school bag, and cycling more than a few miles to her favorite library to borrow more.

Through numerous ‘true’ loves :-) and traveling thousands of miles from family and friends, her attachment to books and especially romance novels stayed constant.

One fine day, toiling away as a grad student in a basement lab, Tara started typing the beginning of a story instead of her thesis. But it wasn’t until years later, encouraged by her real life hero, Tara realized what she truly wanted to do was to write.

Tara lives in Texas with her real life hero and her two little girls. When she isn't writing or reading, Tara can be found failing in the kitchen, watching TV or making resolutions to exercise more, or even a little.

A hot, sexy romance set in the high tech corporate world of cyberspace security and corporate espionage. The MC's are both tech geeks: the H's the billionaire owner of a cyber security company and the heroine is a maverick, young hacker.

Natalie, our intrepid 22 year old heroine, hacked into the H's corporate files as a favour for a man who had rescued her from teenage homelessness. Even though she hadn't stolen or transferred anything, her criminal act could still have landed her in jail.

This is the heroine, Natalie:

Massimo, the H, intended to have her arrested, but his plans changed after he met her. He ended up blackmailing her into a fake engagement of convenience. The reason: his obsessed ex mistress, Gisela, whom he'd dumped 6 months ago, was stalking him:

Except Gisela was still sending him alarmingly disturbing texts full of threats followed by sobbing messages. When she wasn’t camping outside the Brunetti brothers’ office building.

So, the heroine ends up being a useful fake fiancee, to hold the desperate Gisela at bay. The only minor problem with this storyline, was the lack of active page space devoted to this issue. I'd expected Gisela to be a crazed, delusional harpy, ready to claw the heroine's eyes out of unhinged jealousy.

Gisela wasn't even allotted any significant dialogue and was relegated to a background role. It didn't ruin the story for me, because there was a lot going on to compensate. But I just found it a little strange that she'd been built up to be this wacko stalker and then she just faded into the mists.

The MC's battle mutual distrust, while trying hard to ignore their sexual attraction. Massimo's sexy older brother Leonardo, thinks that she should be put in jail while the snobbish grandmother keeps whining about his break up with Gisela.

This is the H, Massimo:

The MC's were well matched, because Natalie wasn't a pushover. The basic plotline revolved around the cat and mouse game played by these 2, as the H sought to uncover the identity of the man who had asked Natalie to hack into his company's accounts. I was intrigued by this minor character - Vincenzo Cavalli.

He's portrayed as a villain yet he never harmed the heroine. In fact, he'd often acted as her protector in the past. His sole intent is to to destroy the H's family's financial empire. Vincenzo was also kinda sexy, when he made his one appearance and it's obvious he's also a billionaire - but a secretive billionaire, who kept a low public profile.

There seems to be a story just waiting to be told, about Vincenzo. His motives are not revealed in this novel so maybe he'll be the H of a future book. Who knows ? I'll be happy, as long as he's not paired up with the nice but dreadfully boring Alessandra. I'm also hoping that Leonardo, the H's gruff, alpha male big brother, might get his own story.

This was a sexual slow burn romance, but the sex scenes were explosively HOT and erotic, when the MC's eventually consummated their relationship. I also think this is the first HP where the H's penis is referred to as a "c*ck". I might be wrong, but my perverted brain tends to be great at detecting this type of useless trivia. 😊

Both MC's were emotionally damaged individuals, with an excess of issues related to their personal family history. Massimo had been the sickly, asthmatic and nerdy younger son, whose father had bullied him for being a disappointment. Natalie, on the other hand, was a motherless girl whose father had abandoned her to the care of Social Services.

The drama culminates in a great trainwrecky scene, where the H is led to believe that Natalie betrays him by selling his software secrets to Vincenzo. Massimo then kicks her out of his life, because this "betrayal" endangers a $100 billion deal that he'd been working on for ages.

In true Girl Power tradition, the ingenious heroine ends up using her super tech skills to save the day and enable Massimo to win back the $100 billion contract. This novel also has one of the best H grovelling scenes ever. I would've liked to know why Vincenzo hated the Brunetti family but maybe it will be clarified in a future novel.

The epilogue is set a mere few months into the future, at the MC's wedding. This wasn't the best novel by Tara Pammi, but it's definitely a vast improvement over her most recent book.

Safety: No cheating, a wannabe OW who basically served little dramatic purpose and no OM.

Because Brunetti men are monsters. “You act like you’re better than them all but…you’re the worst of them. You know better and you still cling to it. There’s a little good in you and you kill it every chance you get. “I fell in love with you. I was twisting myself up in knots that I wasn’t good enough for you…but you’re the one who doesn’t deserve me. You’re not the man I thought you were.
I've loved his cruelty but adored the heroine's made him eat crow. Go girl!
And I'm also excited about Vincenzo's story. I'm sure he is the half brother of Massimo and Leo. :)

Romance was sweet – two computer geeks finding each other. Their sex scenes were lovely and hero was very charming.

But.

I really had a problem with the heroine’s ethics. The initial hacking was bad enough. But then the heroine lied to the hero – often.

I really came to dislike her by the end of the story. Her self-righteousness about going behind the hero’s back because of “loyalty” to her benefactor was hard to take. Same when she played the poverty card to trump hero’s abusive (but wealthy) childhood. For that reason I cringed through the hero’s grovel. He *was* to good for her and had to do the forgiving over and over.

I also had to skim all the computer jargon and business talk – especially at the beginning.

I don't think I'm the audience for this one.

Here are a couple points/thoughts I had on the book.

I loved the first half, but the second half I struggled with. Seemed to lag and not have as strong a storyline.

A little different feel for an HP, can't put my finger on why.

I struggled with the heroine, I liked her but didn't love her.

I really liked the hero.

I liked the hacker storyline though.

More a little later.

Massimo Brunetti is stunned when he tracks the hacker who infiltrated his system and puts all his and his big brothers hard work under threat. Naïve and gorgeous Natalie Crosetto was not what he was expecting - but he is determined she will help fix what she damaged and reveal the name of the person hellbent on ruining his company. Keeping her close he doesn't realise the threat she is to his heart until its too lat.

I liked the hero in this - Massimo was hot, the heroine was ok, but he made the book an enjoyable read.

There is reference to Massimo's dad being abusive when he was younger - something that could have been more compellingly integrated into the story.

Overall this was an easy one time read.

Once Massimo Brunetti tracks down the hacker that invaded his company, he finds himself drawn to her. Natalie Crosetto might be behind the cyberattack, but he knows she did not come u with the idea herself. And while she is unwilling to tell him the name of the person behind the attack, she is willing to pose as his fiancee while Massimo determines exactly what to do with her.

Ok. Just, OK.

My inner geek did a little dance while reading this book.

Loved that the h was a NYC hacker and the H was a computer genius. (All sorts of shades of Elliot from Mr. Robot.)

Great storyline giving the reader a tiny taste of computer programming, while keeping the main focus on the relationship between the h and H.

It was a fun read. Felt more modern than most. I really enjoyed this one.

I was hooked immediately into story with jumping right into the action with the breach in the company and was quickly followed by an adrenaline rush as Massimo tracked down Natalie, who was to be believed as the hacker. Even though this plot point has been done in Presents before, it was different and added a new spin to this trope because it was set in the cyber world. I really dug that, and I really enjoyed that it brought Massimo and Natalie together in many different ways aside from the obvious.

What was strongest about this story was the connection between Massimo and Natalie. It was so strong and on so many different levels. They had a lot in common even though they came from two different worlds. One of the biggest commonalities that they had was that they were both super smart geniuses that knew there way around a computer. In fact they were both brilliant at it, and it was the reason they met when Natalie hacked into Massimo’s security program, which was said to be impenetrable, but she did. Yes, he wanted to make her pay for breaching his system, but it also was more than that. He was intrigued by her before he ever met her, or even knew that she was a woman in the first place. She challenged him in a way no one else had ever done. It kept him up at nights just thinking about this hacker.

Once he did discover who Natalie was and met her in person their connection just grew even more because of the attraction between them. It was more than a physical attraction too, though were very much attracted to one another from the start with that pull, it was a bond that drew them to one another. An understanding and respect for each other that just translated so well throughout the entire story. I loved that there was this intense and immediate connection between them that went beyond the physical, and it felt totally genuine and not forced at all. Their connection was natural and flowed very nicely in progression as they got closer and closer to one another. Their connection really was the heart and soul of the entire, which is how it should be in romances but rarely ever is. It was amazingly well done in this story.

Not only did they have this insane connection, but they had some insane chemistry going on too. They had this great flirty/banter type of relationship that was really entertaining but really sexy at the same time. I loved how they bounced off of each other really nicely, and it was really fun to see play out. Just their chemistry was just so, so good and made for a very riveting read. And the fact that this happened throughout out the course of the entire book really added to the anticipation between Massimo and Natalie before they finally got into a physical relationship.

The love scenes were amazing as well and very satisfying especially after all the build up between them. Their first kiss between them was hot and sexy and came pretty early on, but previewed what was to come. Plus it showed off their chemistry to a tee. That kiss scene was hotter than some full blown love scenes that I have ever read before in Presents, and it was so good. But then after that kiss scene, they really don’t have a sensual scene until fairly later on in the book, which was okay because they had some sexy banter going on throughout the story so I didn’t mind plus like I said it really upped the anticipation level between them. The elevator scene was a very heated and sexy and passionate embrace. That was doozy of a scene, but also showed off that there was more than just the physical going on. They cared about each other. They wanted that connection with one another both physically and emotionally, which was really amazing and very satisfying. When they got to the full blown love scene, it was worth the wait it took to get there especially for these two. It was a sensual, tender, adorable, loving, and very steamy. It was amazing love scene that was truly about a loving connection that lead to even more closeness between these two. It was a truly special moment for them both, and even if the words weren’t spoken rooted in caring and love. There was another sexy love scene in the shower that once again was more about the intimacy and closeness between the two of them than just wanting to be focused on the physical side of romance. It was more than that.

There was a few modes of tension and conflict between them. The main one was her being a hacker that hacked into Massimo’s security program, which brought in whether they could trust each other or not. This theme was carried all the way through as they both questioned it. It was a beautiful moment when she was vulnerable with him and basically put her heart in his hands, showing not only her trust in him but her loyalty as well. It showed where her heart truly laid. That was a great moment.

I do think the ending was a little abrupt especially with the blow up they had at the end after everything they worked through in the story only be blown up again at his lack of trust. It was a little rushed at the end to get to the conclusion, but Massimo did do one epic grovel in the end so I can appreciate that and it made up for the rushed ending.

This was a beautiful story between two people that came from two different world, finding a really deep and meaningful connection that lead to love. They connected on so many different levels it wasn’t hard to see how or why they feel in love. Falling love was gradual, but grew and developed the more and more they got to know each other and craved closeness with each other. Their progression to fall in love felt very natural, and I loved the progression between these two. It was fun and entertaining, yet deep and became the heart and soul of the story. It was an amazing journey to go on with Massimo and Natalie, and it was a very satisfying ride. I just adored this one.

I will be rereading this one again in the future and go on the journey with Massimo and Natalie again as they go on the journey to fall in love once more.

I really liked the premise of this book. As opposed to the simpering females that usually get dished out, we finally get a woman of the modern era who has survived the foster system to come out the other end as an IT genius who just hacked one of the most secure systems (and she is even better at programming than the male lead who built the system).

However, the execution of the book was a little off. The pacing felt wrong. It was too rushed in places. Too slow in other places and I felt that there was too much time dedicated to setting up a series story line with the other Brother and Vincenzo (none of which is resolved) and you can't do that in a book that has less than 200 pages without damaging the main story arc.

There were aspects of the heroine (feisty, brainy, confident about her IT skills etc) I really liked, but the reality is she lied, cheated, deceived and withheld information throughout most of this book and you can't come back from that. So in the end I felt like telling the main guy to run for it. Also, don't get me started on the safe-sex issue (he had a condom, but didn't use it because she SAID she was on the pill and he SAID that he was clean - seriously? Use the bloody condom!).

A great modern concept. Not so great on the execution.

An Innocent to Tame the Italian by Tara Pammi is a sexy workplace romance for a tech savvy heroine and the man who hires her to work for him, and play the part of his new fiancee.

When Natalie Cresotto hacks into Massimo Brunetti’s company at the request of a long time and trusted friend, she never expects Massimo to be able to track her down. But her second infiltration of his software left one too many clues and now she’s been caught out.

Instead of having her arrested for her illegal forays into his company, Massimo has a better plan. First, he wants her to work for him as a cybersecurity expert to find any other loose ends that could cause him problems. There have been a string of bad luck incidents lately, and he wants to figure out who is behind them. Second, his attraction to her makes him think of another plan that will be benefit him – Natalie can pretend to be his fake fiancee to get his interfering matchmaker grandmother off his back. Natalie doesn’t have much choice since she knows the alternative is jail. But how long can she resist the sexy Italian on his own turf?

You have a rich sexy gorgeous tech billionaire and a poor beautiful orphan with a past so no way this story is going to let you down. It really takes off nicely and I loved the sexual tension of Massimo and Natalie. It’s a good story with lots of great banter between the two. I hate Silvio and not sure how I feel about Leonardo- can’t wait to read his story. I loved the ending, I’m a sucker for a good ending. I give this book four stars because Vincenzo asked Natalie to hack Massimo’s company and he’s cause so much damage to this family but in the end Ms Pammi gave us no clue of why. I know she’s saving it for her next book but damn! I still recommend this book, it’s a good read.

One of the most modern, fun Presents I've read in a while!! I loved how spunky Natalie was and how easily Massimo admitted that she was brilliant and cleverer than him!!

And the love scenes, oh WOW, the love scene was HOOOT...LOL! Somehow she always manages to imbue even the hottest scenes with so much emotion at the same time!! Really hoping she'll write Leo's story too...

Ok. I am guy. I also work in cybersecurity. They had me at that. Besides for the romance novel tropes, the information technology parts are actually pretty accurate. Though ladies, unfortunately the best firewall designers are in the US, not Italy. I give four stars because its awesome when your profession is in the zeitgeist.

Yep, I read a Mills and Boon book. I picked this one up because my partner is Italian and thought it would be a laugh. Fairly easy and light hearted read. I even learned a few Italian words and phrases. $5 well spent I say 😉

This is very enjoyable to read. The hero met the heroine because she had hacked his company website and ruined the deal with his client. He asked her to come to Milan and become his fake fiancée in exchange for her not to go to the jail. However, the chemistry between them cannot be avoided.
