A dating app from supernaturals. When finding your true mate is the only lasting connection you can make it makes dating hard. Dakota wants a little fun and is using a dating app to make it happen. After her night with a dragon shifter she can’t get him out of her head. The Reluctant dragon mate is about believing in love and taking a risk.
I’ve listened to a few books narrated by Hannah Somerville. She has a quick speaking, clear voice and good vocal range.
It's not that strange that I don't feel like reading big books right now. I just wanna distract myself and read something light that makes me laugh. So, when I was looking through all the dragon e-books I had gathered during the last few months, I found this one and knew right away that this was the right book. I mean, what can go wrong with a Laura Greenwood? I haven't read one that disappointed me and didn't read a heavy one either.
And this book was exactly what I had thought it would be. I started it this morning and before my reading time before work was over I already finished it. And still it really felt like I read a complete story. I think Laura Greenwood has an amazing talent there. Writing long books is hard, of course, but people have no idea how hard it is to write a shorter story and to still make people care about the characters and their story.
Laura Greenwood does it. In this story we meet a witch with a dragon familiar and a dragon who is terrified to find his mate because of a prophecy. Even though there is not too much time to really get to know these characters, I did get a sense of who they are and why they find each other and click. Because that's the nice thing about this kind of mating bond. Yes, it's totally a mating bond, but that doesn't mean the characters don't have to work for it.
I also really liked the concept of an app helping supes to find their mates. I mean, finding a mate seems like a very hard task, with a world this big. I can imagine that an app might make it a lot easier. I'd certainly be willing to read the other books in this series too!

This is such a great short story. Reluctant Dragon Mate follows Dakota and Achilles on their mating bond. who would have thought of a dating app for paranormals. Yes, you get the sense during the book how paranormals are looking for their mates. What could happen if they deny their bond, or if they choose someone who lengthwise mate to later find them. The struggle that paranormals go through and the pressure out on themselves. Dakota and Achilles are no different except they are trying to push each other away when they obviously feel The bond. what they put each other through is a bit harsh. However there is a happily ever after ending.
Reluctant Dragon Mate is a fabulous, fun and flirty addition to Laura Greenwood’s Paranormal Council Universe.
Dakota’s life changes after after swiping right while searching for a new date on the app - MatchMater. But things change quickly when she realises that she’s actually met her mate.
Will a witch and a dragon be a good match? Well...you’ll just have to read it to see what happens.
This stand-alone paranormal story with a dash of contemporary, is definitely a must read and a new favourite.
Another great read, with lots of chemistry and hotness. This is a well written story and hooked me from the start. This is a quick hot read, with a interesting plot and fantastic characters, great emotion and Loads of steam!

Short, cute story about a dating app for paranormals and two who are lucky enough to find their fated mate. This was a very easy read that made me laugh a little and gave me a story that left me content and happy, like all of this author's reads. Can't wait for the next book.

I really wanted to love this book and give it 5 stars but that’s not what happened. I struggled with this book. I absolutely loved the blurb and couldn’t wait to read it, however sometimes the end of a chapter doesn’t lead onto the start of the next one if that makes sense. Right after they meet up for the very first time at Dakota’s house, the start of the next chapter is confusing to say the least. To start with it reads like it’s a few days afterwards and then you find out it’s actually only the following morning. It doesn’t seem to flow in a way that I like but that could purely be because of the style of writing being a type I’m not used to. I also like longer books so the story has time to develop and engage the reader more. Honestly I’m not sure if it’s just not my favourite style of writing and that’s what the problem is. I’m sure there are lots of people that love it.

Stubborn Dragons!
Yep, you heard that right – this book contains one very stubborn dragon, who is so caught up in his own world and what he believes a so-called prophecy might actually mean for him, that he refuses to see what’s right under his nose.
His “distraction” he found by accident on a Paranormal dating app, a distraction in the form of a witch called Dakota. She works out quite quickly that there is more to this dragon than meets the eye, but this damned stubborn dragon just refuses to play ball.
A quite fun back and forth ensues, before both finally accept what their fate actually means.
My only disappointment is that the book description doesn’t completely match the content – we are led to believe that it’s Achilles business that’s the reason he’s holding back, but we barely hear anything about that at all! Anyway, despite this little niggle, I still thoroughly enjoyed it.
Dakota is a witch, looking for her mate on the MatchMater app – she hooks up with Achilles the dragon shifter and both of them realise that they may have met their true mates, despite their commitment issues and reservations.
It’s a great premise with two strong characters – a woman who isn’t afraid to go after what she wants and a man who’d rather make sacrifices in the short term to avoid heartbreak further down the line. I love this story for its happily ever after and the idea of a supernatural Tinder. There’s a lot of personality fit into a short book and it speaks highly of the author ability as a writer.
Hannah Somerville was the perfect fit for this book as the narrator, her voice brought the characters to life and really sounded the way I would imagine Dakota to be, in my head. She elevates the entire story to something even more enjoyable and I’m already cracking into the next book in the series to hear where she takes it!
This is a fantastic story. I can't wait to read more in this series. I love reading anything by Laura Greenwood.
Dakota and Achilles were matched on an app one night. They have an amazing night but believe it is only for the night. Fate has other plans for them though. After another encounter, Achilles leaves for a week. Dakota believes that they are mates but will not chase him if he doesn't want to found. Will Achilles realize his mistake and make things work between them?

MatchMater. The world’s only dating app for paranormals. Witch Dakota accepts a date with dragon shifter Achilles only to discover he is her mate. Achilles is reluctant to be her mate. Can they work out their differences and have their happily ever after? Great paranormal romance. I’m looking forward to more books in the series. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review, and loved it so much I bought it.
I really enjoyed this sweet tale of a dragon meeting, and fearing the pull of, his mate. The characters were good, the plot was fun, and I see myself rereading this one!
Oh Achilles, hot dragon shifter but oh so dense, at first. Dakota is our with, I love her and her familiar. This is a quick little love story. Boy meets girl, they tumble in the sheets, boy is an idiot and turns away. Boy realizes he’s an idiot and well , will he win the girl? Read to find out.
Cute little paranormal romance. The characters meet on a dating app, have a one night stand and then can’t stop thinking about each other. Of course the male pushes her away until the end but it all works out in the end.
(Achilles & Dakota): what a great change to the original concept of a paranormal romance. So the paranormals in LG's book world have a dating app that allows them to casually date and/or hookup until they find their mate. This is how Achilles (dragon shifter) meets Dakota (witch). They both swipe right, meet and have an amazing night. Afterwards they can't figure out why they can't stop thinking about the other person. There are clues and Dakota is the first to pick them up. He's her mate. Achilles is not going in the same direction. He is slow to the game. What I loved is how they get their confirmation that they are mates. Achilles was told he would give up everything for his mate, which is his heart's treasure. For dragons we assume it's his horde. For witches, their familiar first takes the shape of their mate and second their mate is the only other person who can see the familiar. I totally love that, it completely cements the fact that they are meant for each other. I really liked this story, I was kind of sad that it was so short though.
Since I read more from this writer in the past I decided to give this series a try when I got the opportunity to read them. This is the first book in this series about a Matchmaker app for paranormals.
Dakota has been stood up by her date and when she arrives home she swipes in the app. She ends up with a match with Achilles an he comes over. Normally ot a thing one of them does. The plan for both of them was a one night stand. But it turned out differently.
Achilles doesn't want to see what is in front of him, because of a prophecy made about him he is scared about. Luckily there are wise women in this book to help him out.
Nice short romantic paranormal read with humour in it, especially thanks to his grandmother.
Dakota is drunk when she enters the dating app for shifters called Mater and she swipes yes. She's hoping for a one-night stand at the very least since her last date stood her up, and she's not quite ready to give up dating entirely. The last thing dragon shifter Achilles wants is a mate, but he quickly realizes that Dakota may just be the one he has been trying to avoid for years. Unfortunately, he took some bad advice and has been ghosting her so when he realizes that she's his mate, he's not sure he can win her back. Wonderfully well written and unique characters that made me chuckle. Steamy and funny shifter romance with an interesting twist, and a happily ever after. Great book.

This is a hilarious story about Dakota and Achilles, a witch and a dragon shifter. They both have been trying to use MatchMater to possibly find their mates. Achilles is terrified to find his mate, but Dakota is excited and trying to find hers. They are matched one night, and they both make a crazy choice to meet up. The rest of the story focuses on the mayhem and the stubbornness that ensues after.
This is another fun story from Laura Greenwood! She is a great writer! For the audiobook: Hannah Somerville is a great narrator who kept me involved! I would definitely listen to another story narrated by Hannah Somerville!
I really like the idea of this series. I think it’s kind of unique for shifters to have their own dating app, I don’t think I’ve ever seen this before. This book had humor and was sweet and lighthearted. Dakota and Achilles meet through the app and they have to decide if they want to accept the mate bond or not. Achilles’ grandmother was my favorite character and I loved her personality. Hannah did a great job with this narration. I liked that she really brought Dakota’s personality to life and felt like a great fit. I’ll be looking for more of her narrations in the future! *I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
Dakota was tired of her dates not working out. It was hard being a witch in a mortal world and trying to find her true mate. She decides to give the paranormal dating app one more chance, so she swipes right on a dragon shifter named Achilles. Achilles is scared of making a wrong choice and possibly ruining two lives forever, but he decides to meet up with Dakota. After spending the night together, she sees their time together one way and he sees it another. Read to see if Achilles's grandmother can help them reach the right decision.

Witch Dakota is tired of the slim pickings on her matchmate app, and after one date who doesn't even bother to show up, she decides to try something new. The dragon shifter she selects is hot and soon she's inviting him over for one night only. Achillies is doing everything that he can to avoid his mate, one little prophecy has him running scared. But when he realises the gorgeous witch he spent the night with and cannot get off his mind is her, things get complicated. Will these two work out their problems? Of course they will Read this for wonderful fun and a sweet little HEA.

..."you would be willing to give up everything for your mate,"...
Achilles has no idea what the precog meant when she said he'd give up everything for his mate, but it hasn't made him eager to find said mate.
Dakota is a witch, capable of some fun magic, with wonderful friends, what she doesn't have is her happily ever after.
This done in one quick read was so easy to relate to, with self doubts, second thoughts, fears and simply being unsure what the other person thought, it is a slice of paranormal everyday life, with an awesome granny thrown in to keep the you get generation honest... at least with themselves.
Dakota drunkenly swipes yes on a dating app, and the next morning she knows she's met her mate. Unfortunately, Achilles doesn't want a mate and refuses to accept it.
I love Laura Greenwoods books and how short they are. I love having a book I can finish quickly in one sitting and her books are perfect. Not only are they short, but they're also packed full of story. We get what feels like a full length story in such a short time.
Dakota and Achilles are the perfect pair but he's too stubborn to see that. Focused on work, he doesn't understand what he has in front of him. I liked the tension between the two, and was happy with their ending.
This is a short story in the Paranormal Council world, you do not have to have an idea of the world and can be read as a standalone. Another thing about this book is that there is no smut, it is a fade to black like more modern teen dramas have become.
This is just a fun story about 2 people finding someone via an app, one person being a witch the other a dragon.
I will say one of the best characters was Achilles' grandmother, I would love to have more about her.
Honestly, I wish this was longer and more flushed out. The world is fun, the cast was interesting and left me wanting more in this world.
Reluctant Dragon Mate by Laura Greenwood is a shifter romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Hannah Somerville.
I just love Laura’s Books! They always leave me begging for more. I cannot wait until the second book in the series Bewitched Incubus Mate is released on audible. The MatchMater Paranormal Dating Agency App series can be read as a stand-alone and our part of the Paranormal Council Universe.
Hannah did a great job on the narration. I can’t wait to listen to more projects that she has worked on.
A paranormal romance with today’s technology of the dating app. So how do paranormals find others to see if they are their mate? MatchMater app is how. With a swipe you can pick your date. With paranormals they know after one night if you are their mate. So long relationships just don’t happen unless it is with the one. But what happens if you aren’t sure or are to afraid to admit it? That’s where friends and family come in to kick you in the butt to do the right thing. Plenty of humor and some hotness.
A quick fun story. It was entertaining seeing paranormals using an dating app.
The characters were nice and the story was nice I did have a problem with the issue between the characters not being clear, one minute it was one issue why they weren't together then it switched then switched again. I didn't feel like there was a clear path.
However the dating drama was good entertainment. The fact that Dakota is a strong woman who stood up for herself and Achilles was so stubborn but could help himself when it came to Dakota was cute.
