His Song

Rate this book
Dane is destined for greatness, his boyfriend Krish just knows it, but first he needs to break into the local music scene.

Randy Blake is Dane's idol, a small-town musician with a sound Dane likes. When Blake asks Dane to stop by sometime, maybe have a private jam session, Dane is ecstatic. But it seems Blake has something other than music on his mind.

Krish struggles with jealousy -- he knows Blake would help advance Dane's music, but Krish just can't trust the man. A more pressing question, though, is can he trust Dane when his lover seems blinded by his idol?

This story appears in my print collection So In Love.

I can't get enough of J.M. Snyder's beautiful stories, this one is no exception. Kirsh and Dane are different, Kirsh loves sports and beer, Dane is more on the artistic side. But they have been together for two years. For Kirsh, Dane is talented and wonderful, he must keep his jealousy on check because other people (man or woman) seems to be taken in his boy. When Dane is ecstatic to meet his idol, Randy Blake, and dreams about making music together, Kirsh decides that if it makes Dane happy, he must trust his lover, even if he can't trust Blake.

I adore Kirsh, even if he seems protective and has a jealous streak. But he never really let the jealousy takes over him. While the story is a bit cliché in the end when we know that Blake is only using Dane. But Kirsh is there to console Dane and the way he does it, just makes my heart smile. It's really, really wonderful story.

Sweet story of aspiring musician Dane and his boyfriend Kirsch who have been together for a couple of years. When Dane meets Randy Blake, his musical idol, Kirsch has a hard time with his jealous side but knows he can trust his BF. But when Dane is hurt by the older and manipulative Randy it's up to Kirsch to console and show him how much he's loved.

Nicely written, this was a quick and easy read.

J.M Snyder just has a way with short stories. With a brief glimpse into her character's lives, this reader inevitably makes a connection and feels their sorrow and their joy! Dane's innocent naiveté was as familiar to me as an old, worn sweater and his subsequent disillusionment made my heart ache in sympathy.
