Skye MacKinnon is a USA Today & International Bestselling Author whose books are filled with strong heroines who don't have to choose.

She embraces her Scottishness with fantastical Scottish settings and a dash of mythology, no matter if she's writing about Celtic gods, cat shifters, or the streets of Edinburgh.

When she's not typing away at her favourite cafe, Skye loves dried mango, as much exotic tea as she can squeeze into her cupboards, and being covered in pet hair by her tiny black cat (who's secretly a demon).

I’m loving this series and this is book 5 in the Catnip Assassins and I’m looking forward to reading book 6. Kat gets a bodyguard job protecting the mayor but someone tries to kill Kat instead so she gets her team involved, ahh but there is so much more going on in this story so if you want to know what’s going on then you’re just going to have to read this book yourself to find out. Fantastic story and I highly recommend this book it’s well worth the read.

*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.

Kat has to change everything now. Her and her crew have relocated to another city in an effort to find another one of her clones. Broke she takes as job as a body guard to the mayor as well as secretly accepting a dangerous task to steal a diamond at the same time. This leads to all kinds of twists and turns as the story unfolds making Kat deal with things she has never had to before. Makes for an entertaining adventure to say the least. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.

According to the author’s note at the end of the first omnibus edition: Catnip Assassins: Books 1-4, this series was originally intended to end with book 4, until a writer friend convinced her to add another three book arch. Thus explaining why Hisss ends without either cliffhanger or even much of a tease, yet this book ends in a clear cliffhanger.

Having lost her home to a fire, Kat has no trouble uprooting herself to search for her last remaining sister, K7, who wouldn’t be much older than 5 year old Little Kat. Her mates Lennox, Gryphon, and Ryker move with her, along with her MEOW employees Benjamin, Lily, and Beth, her eldest sister Caitlin, and about half of Ryker’s cats. Twins Ivy & Four and Little Kat remain with Gryphon’s aunt.

Kat takes a job being the bodyguard for the local mayor. Lady Lara. Kat likes the woman. Her interview includes a test to see that Kat can detect poisons. Despite living in a siren heavy area, Lara is human and shows no signs of knowing about sirens, succubi, & shifters.

The job allows Kat to rope in her colleagues and mates, initially Beth as her poison expert and Lennox as her head of security.

Part of Kat’s new jobs is to accompany Lara to fundraisers. So when the tailor and her new assistant are reporting into Lara, Kat is there to prevent the assistant from poisoning Lara. Unfortunately she is unable to deflect the second blow aimed at Kat herself. The human assistant has a siren riding him.

Turns out, Lara is much more knowledgeable than she let on. She uses a technology to shut off the siren’s hold on the assistant, gets him to reveal the antidote he is carrying on himself, dispatches him, then sends for Beth as the antidote patch isn’t strong enough to clear the poison from Kat's system.

Beth and Gryphon end up generating an antidote, but Kat is down for the count for days. Waking just in time for the event she was supposed to accompany Lara to. Lennox is going in her stead, while the rest of the team is finishing a strange treasure hunt that leads to a diamond to be displayed at the event. They’re planning to steal the diamond. Gryphon being left behind to cat sit Kat.

After slowing her down with a round of roof sex, Gryphon gives in to Kat’s desire to go after the diamond herself, pitting herself against her own team.

This book had me giggling on the very first page. But then things begin to get serious.

Kat has a job interview with Lady Lara, the Mayor of their new town Attenburgh. Apparently she's in need of a bodyguard. However before she can leave there's a mysterious package and a puzzle to solve.

She has a kitten wake Benjamin and sets him to the task of deciphering the symbols on the note she found in the package and hurries off to her interview.

Everyone loves a puzzle and everyone gets involved with this one. Right from the start, there is obviously more going on than meets the eye. With the translation Benjamin leaves for her, Kat, Ryker, Gryphon and Caitlyn check out the locations to collect possible additional clues.

Some interesting poisons surface, a couple of assassination attempts, an extremely valuable diamond and plenty of other page turning events will keep you reading until the book ends.

Oh what an ending it is, Skye you are an evil author! I can't wait for the next book in this series!

Skye MacKinnon’s LICK (Catnip Assassins #5) is purrfect. In this story, Katriona (Kat) Feln and the members of M.E.O.W. relocated to Attenburgh where they are looking for Kat’s sister K7. Meanwhile, Kat gets a job with the mayor, and the M.E.O.W. team plans a heist.

Skye MacKinnon does an amazing job with this story. It was thrilling and hard to put down. It was full of conspiracy. I live with three cats; consequently, I appreciate the felines in the story. They always make me smile and laugh in amusement.

LICK was skillfully written and entertaining throughout. I love the alternate world Sky MacKinnon created. The novel had a cliffhanger ending that is making me look forward to CLAW (Catnip Assassins Book 6). I suggest reading the other books in the series before reading this book. I think you could follow this book as a standalone but there is a lot of history that I think is relevant to the series that is covered in the other novels. Reading them first would make your experience more enjoyable. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Lick has a bit of everything. There is action, intrigue, betrayal, sex, death, humor...did I mention sex? (laugh) I love the deer storyline and hate it at the time. I can see why it needed to be done because of the impact of the storyline, but be still my heart moments!

The jewelry heist is like a really bad comedy that you keep holding your breath yet chuckling. It might also make you hungry.

Then there is the treasure hunt. Let me say here that something seems to be going on with Ben. There is some intrigue there or MacKinnon does not realize that Ben is saying something (insert eerie music here).

So yes, I said treasure hunt, heist, battles, and canoodling. Lick is fun jaunt if you need a break from all of the holiday shenanigans.

I received an ARC of this book and I am writing a review without prejudice and voluntarily.

Ok I really liked this one due to alot more external influences, and taking a non assassin job and then the crush she has on her boss just for being amazing. It showed some true reality. Anybody can inspire. Although I was confused by the hierarchy in MEOW alot of the time she doesn't seem in charge and I feel for her sister living with them and the hearing she has, she has to have had heard everything they have discussed about her. Seriously the ending made me want to throw my kindle but can't wait for the next one. Already have it on pre-order lol

Kat is living in a new town and needs something to do. When a mysterious letter arrives, she and the M.E.O.W. gang work out the puzzle to discover that someone wants them to steal a huge diamond.
Kat is also the new bodyguard for the mayor. An easy job for a good money, she thinks, until someone tries to kill her and not the mayor.
Fun times looking for a diamond and Kat’s missing catnip.
I received an ARC from the author. This is my honest review.

I love this series. Kat and her men can be funny, serious and very loving. Kat is wanting to find her sister and help the rest of her family. Since she moved to a new town, she is kind of short on money. Luckily she gets a job opportunity. There is mystery though out the book. Then, something happens and everything changes. So be prepared that once you read this, you will not want to put it down. It is a great book to read.

Cat and the MEOW crew are back, trying to start over in a new city and find Kat’s final sister. A new job, a heist, her guys, her crew and some catnip :) What else could Kat need. I love Kat’s cattitude:) and their new pet. I liked when the MEOW crew is working together. Lady Lara brings an interesting dynamic and I can’t wait to see how she fits in. The story does end with a cliffhanger, so hopefully the next book is out soon....like tomorrow :)

But it ends in a cliffhanger- Noooooooooooo
The story is interesting and engaging.i love all the characters, Kat is such an imaginative character, The situations are exciting but the cliffhanger ending is really frustrating, now I have to wait until the next book is published to find out what happens next - I really hate cliffhangers but this series is so good regardless

It is suggested you read the previous books in the series. This is book five and it doesn’t go back to fill in any of the characters or references to the past events. If you liked the earlier ones, this is good but it does make a departure from Kat’s assassin requests and introduces some new characters. It ends with a cliffhanger so be prepared. Definitely worth the time spent reading.

Stupid cliff hanger ending!

I like the series so far. Interesting world and characters. But this one has an abrupt cliff hanger ending. The more I run into these the more annoyed I get. Why do authors think they need to do this? If you write a good story I will look for more of your books. It’s even ok if you don’t resolve every storyline. But putting the main character in serious peril on the last page does not make me a bigger fan. Lame.

I’ve said it before, but holy cliffhangers, Batman!!! These books are so much fun to read. You’re always waiting for the other shoe to drop. Kat is such an awesome strong kick butt mc and her men, well they are out of this world. Kat will do anything to save her family. Anything. Can’t wait to read the next book to see how Kat gets outta this one!

Another fabulous instalment in this amazing series. Kat and her guys, friends and cats are settling in to the new house and areas. However things are not as they first seem, with clues and mystery afoot they all find themselves embroiled in danger and mayhem. Well written with humour, drama romance and emotions this is a fantastic read and I cannot wait for the next book!

Kat and her crew had moved to a new town. You know - new beginnings, new people, starting from scratch and living a new life. Kat is looking for the job, and when a new opportunity is showing there she will have to think if she will take it. What will she choose? Will she take this job and how will everything change with that?
Ends on the cliffy that had left me stuck in place! I need book 6!

New city, new life, new adventures await Kat and her gang! A mysterious letter leads to a treasure hunt, which leads to arranging an elaborate heist, and Kat gets a job as well, as the Mayor's bodyguard. But who really is in need of a bodyguard? The Mayor or Kat herself?

Another amazing installmen in the Catnip Assasins, that will keep you reading breathless!

This is the fifth book in the series and we get to watch Kat and her crew as they have moved to a new town. Watching everyone handle all the new people, new beginnings and having to start from scratch on everything is really interesting as we were kinda thrown into her life when we started reading about her and MEOW. There are so many new things that I can not wait to see what happens

I don't like reverse harem stories. I wish it was clear in the description of the first book in the series. reverse harem stories are not my cup of tea. So my review should be discounted as I'm prejudice against them. This has an interesting premise and I was enjoying the series until it degraded into a reverse harem.

Ouch

Talk about a cliffhanger ending. Generally I never read books like that but....when the story is that good and the writer this prolific I'm willing to make exceptions. 18 days and counting till the release of claw. Just saying.
