Love and light, A stranger who feels you
This book just hugged me and comforted me. And yes, this is going to be a never ending ritual.
This is one of those books you keep within your reach at all times whenever you feel you are having a difficult time, when you have those moments of doubt and apprehension or when you worry too much about things you cannot control but those that matter to you which you feel no one understands.
I appreciate this book so much. It's like having a life-long confidante (the title is quite accurate though).
The book deals with pain, emptiness, anxiety, insomnia, heartache, loss, negativity, self-harm, identity, hope, patience, forgiveness, healing, health, positivity, second chances, love, family, friendship, self-awareness, purpose, dreams, hard work, success, failure, kindness, gratitude, the universe, life and death, happiness.
The writing is really good. It gives you the kind of warmth and security you need from another person because you know they understand you.
This is the kind of book you can choose a topic or a chapter to read anytime and you do not need to read the whole book at once.
I have bought this book last year upon my friend suggestion. She told me it would evoke wave of emotions deep in my cold heart. After reading just 50 pages of this book,I ended up becoming more cold hearted. So i went and scolded her for over a week for having no taste in poetry.
Yesterday again i have picked this book since i am in home quarantine and i have no option to choose any poetry books. Now every nerve in me exhausted while trying to squeeze little ounce of emotions in this book. Again i have called her scolded her for making me buy this book.
🚫 In future Avoid any book if those authors claim themselves as instagram poets 🚫
Rupi kaur McDonald's ketch up poetry is better than this.
Dear Stranger, I don’t know much about you, but I do know how you feel. You are feeling lost, lonely and misunderstood. You are tired of pain and suffering. Depression, anxiety and negativity chase you. You don’t know where to find hope and how to heal yourself. Trust me, I have been there myself, and I know it’s not easy. So, I am writing these thirty letters and poems to you, to let you know that you are not alone, and that you are understood. You are still cared for. Please read one of these letters every day, and I promise you, together we will get through this. Life is difficult, but not if we take it one day at a time. 💥 The book is divided into 30 letters. That is the 30 problems one can go through. From pain, emptiness, anxiety, insomnia, negativity, health, love, friendship, happiness etc. 💢 All the letters starts with a positive quote. This is a real life experience of the author who himself was in the state of depression & anxiety. The fact says that 34% of India's population has been through depression. This book will work as Healer for them who are in pain. If you want to fight the world, this book will motivate you. It will help you to come out of ocean of pain to the calm seashore. Book started with the wonderful quote "The truth is You are at war with yourself that's why you find yourself at war with others" Every night comes with a new dawn and that's the thing about the life, negativity is always there but you have to find the small ray of hope that will guide you to realise the true essence of life.
Wasn’t the best book on healing. When it comes to healing and feeling good this book doesn’t do you any good. The concept of the book was good but the content was not. At times it becomes more negative than positive and you might take back road. The language was really simple so it is a light read. It gets repetitive some times. Many of the things author says in the book , and suggests are nothing new.
The cover is attractive and apt. A bird tied to the rope implies that we are all tied in the rope by life's hurdles. There are 30 letters on the essential ingredients we deal with in our daily lives. Each chapter starts with meaningful poem verses. The author soothes the readers on how to face life's realities through these heartwarming letters. He also shares his deep thoughts and feelings. His wonderful narration helps the readers to recover and restore your positive energy. Inspiring, Engaging and Relatable. Amazing Self Help Book and highly recommend everyone to read this book.
I loved these quotes in the book:
“The Truth is you are at war with yourself that's why you find yourself at war with others.” “You are the master of your own existence and you have the power to turn your life around.” “Forgiveness is acknowledgment. Acknowledgment that they hurt you, whether intentionally or by design, and that you had no control over their behavior.”
Below average from psychological and healing point of you being a psychiatrist and author myself I expected a lot from this book but quite disappointing it's like you can read it if you have nothing to read it's not kinda worst read but still not good enough as well Moreover I feel they are good at marketing not healing they should write books on how to sell anything kinda books
🍁This book contains 30 letters for 30 days from the author to its reader. Every letter has an opening poem which are delightful to read and are the reason I picked up this book. The author has gone through depression and anxiety himself and knows very well what another person must be going through. These letters are for those who feel lost, lonely, empty and are suffering through a lot.
🍁Personally, I had set my expectations really high from this book because I've been following the author since a long time and love what he writes. The concept of the book is fabulous but it couldn't serve the purpose it was meant for. In fact, till half a book instead of healing or getting over something bad, things that I didn't wanted to remember came rushing back to my mind. I found the letters a bit disappointing as they mostly describe what pain and anxiety feels like and that really one doesn't want to read if he/she is going through mental stress. But the latter part is not that bad. At times, I felt how caring this person is who's writing these letters to me, I wish I could meet him and talk to him in person.
🍁I feel this book has helped the author himself mostly. To come over his pain and mental stress and I really appreciate the author for setting an example for others who are hopeless, lost and just want to end everything. It's not easy to fight with yourself when you can only think of suicide as a solution for every problem in your life. I don't care if those letters helped me or not but I helped him by buying and reading this book. This book is an example of victory of a person who has gone through a lot and defeated death which seems like an only option when you're stressed or depressed.
🍀Whosoever has read till now, thank you for reading. It means a lot. And if you're going through something. Please, have patience. Do exercise. Do what you love. Don't give a care about what others will think. You're doing the best you can. Read. Write. Dance. And again read. Love yourself.❤️
Gifted this to my beloved and later got it for myself as to know in what way it can help. It was a prompt decision to gift it just after reading a single quote : In the deep black sky, even though a million miles apart, the sun still finds a way to bring light to the moon, and you expect me to leave you in this darkness? I never knew that I will end up giving it single star and ask her to stop reading it. Initial chapters on Pain and Emptiness is really connecting and embracing. But later on I found it too dull and dry. Out of thirty chapters, I like only seven which were about Pain, Emptiness, Forgiveness, Healing, Love, Friendship and Hard Work. Sometimes it feels like a lecture that are too boring and annoying and it is all superficial that we already know! Sometimes nothing but a pseudo comfort. It causes more depression by making you realize how you are going through. I always felt behind these words, there is always a realization that you are alone. Author's assurance of 'being there' with the reader is nothing more than a namesake. He never explained in what way! Another point is that reminding again and again that 'You are alive' can sometimes cause more vulnerability to the readers. However, the support and suggestions are honest with sincere and pure intentions. The act of self love and self worth is a cardinal teaching of the book. I really liked the way author begins his letter with a poem/quotation and finishes it with a unique role of himself related to the particular letter. The quality of paper is too good and the title of the book is really alluring.
"𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁. " This book is great. It is written beautifully and might help people in understanding that they are not alone in this world. I strongly resonated with most of the things the author talked about. The poems at the start of every letter were a pleasure to read. But some of the things that the author talked were continuously repeated. And he didn't offer any solid advice except to write in journals or apps, talking to a doctor or a loved one and just holding on a little bit more. I would say that i loved the book because of how well he explained the pain but he didn't give any real advice that i could follow.
Book: Dear Stranger, I Know How You Feel Author: Ashish Bagrecha Publisher: Westland Publications Genre: Self-Help Format: Paperback Pages: 182 Rating: 5/5
I have felt this umpteen times that I don’t choose books. Books choose me. This book came right infront of me when I needed it the most. I bought this book last year from Dreambux Library and since then it was resting in my cupboard. I almost forgot about this book. Recently, I was going through a lot of negative self-talk and I was not feeling good about myself. Anxiety had taken over me and I was depressed and stressed out. It was then, I donot know how I started reading this book and this was the book I needed at the moment to be true.
I had decided that I won’t write book reviews till this year’s end. But, the only reason I am writing this book review is in the hope that someone out there may be in need of a self-help book like this one. Even if one person finds this review helpful and it leads him/her to this book, which might help him/her in any way , I would be glad.
This book is not just a book. While reading it I feel as if I am enveloped in a blanket of love and care. I felt as if this book has reignited in the me desire to live again. I had stopped loving myself long back and I realized this while reading this book. I am now in love with myself again. Self love and positive self-talk has replaced self-hatred and negative self-talk.
The Author has written thirty letters to the reader on various topics like anxiety, self-love, hope, patience, negativity, gratitude etc.. Before starting each letter, there is poetry which equally touches the heart. While reading the letters, at one point my eyes almost swelled up with the tears on receiving so much warmth and love from the author. I am amazed at how much the author understood me and many people like me. I am rereading the book as this book has so much more to offer.
I am really proud of such Indian authors who add value to the life of so many people by writing such loving books. The title does justice to the content of the book. And yes, this book is a journey towards hope and healing. Also, I loved the cover page of the book.
If you are someone who has lost hope, and the self-talk is negative or you are depressed, I highly recommend this book to you. I hope this book adds value to your life as it added and is still adding to my life. Wish you start your journey of hope and healing soon! Sending you lots of love! Happy Reading!
¶ “Dear Stranger, I know how you feel", self-help written by Ashish Bagrecha. This book contains 30 letters written by the authors to its readers. Each letter starts with a poem.
¶ This books especially belongs to those who are going through tough phases of their life like stress, anxiety and depression sort off mental distress.
¶ Not just in India but all over the world, going through physical pain is seen as something as a hardship. Whereas mental suffering is considered to be a trifle. People who go through this phase only knows and can feel this difficult and stereotypes regarding mental issues.
¶ Whereas this book is varied from the rest of other self-help books. It will not tell you a story about how to be brave. Rather it will listen to you, speak to you and advise you. It will understand your situation and mental state from whatever you are going through in your life or at a critical moment. You can go to it whenever you want when you feel like nobody is understanding your state.
¶ This will not fix your broken pieces but help you to fix them by yourself. It will be like a journey you will go through with each letter...a journey of healing and mental peace.
¶ A must-read book because in one way or another we all are broken. ❤️

I understand that Ashish wrote this during a time of personal struggle, and while I can appreciate the emotion behind it, I still felt the execution fell short. It didn’t quite capture the depth I was hoping for.
As someone who values true, thoughtful writing, I found this collection of modern poetry incredibly frustrating. The poems felt overly simplistic and lacked the depth I expected. The themes were nothing new, and it was as if the author was trying too hard to be profound without ever really saying anything meaningful. The whole thing felt like an exercise in pretension, offering fleeting, shallow sentiments that don’t resonate or linger. I get that modern poetry sometimes embraces minimalism, but this was bordering on laziness. For anyone who enjoys poetry with real emotional weight and craft, I would strongly recommend skipping this one. It left me feeling angry and unsatisfied than moved or inspired.
Written in simple and lucid language, every letter in the book is a reminder to all those who are going through tough times, that they aren't alone in this and they are strong, comprehended and cared for. Through these letters the author promises to get through difficult times, taking it one day at a time.
Going through tough times or not, personally I feel that everyone should read this book for the authors' words connect you right from the beginning. There is a certain sense of comfort and solace in his words. These letters seem as though the author wrote each one exclusively for you and is quite overwhelming. It definitely fills you with hope and feel that his words offer love and solace.
Dear Stranger, you need to read this if ur feeling anything negative. tbh i didn't like it that much bcz i felt like i did overcome what the book was talking about, so in a way it was a reminder to me for all the things i overcame. I believe someone who's still in the phase of healing will love it.
It was my worst ever decision to pick this book for reading. Just two chapters in, and the crap went unbearable for me. It is nothing but degradation of literature.
Although, I`m not fond of this type of book where only dramatically portrays one`s struggle and difficulty during hard times of stress and depression. Have not discussed or suggested any exercise or solution in order to minimize or to resolve root cause to these problems.
The author can be more specific and more reliable if he has somehow referred to the benefits of spirituality and meditation. such things are so crucial in order to overcome and eradicate any form of stress. But unfortunately, this book has not grounded to such solutions rather just rambling with the author`s experience.
Good read, sometimes seems repetitive, but if you are feeling low then I would recommend audio book , you will definitely feel as someone is talking to you. A little and beautiful poem before every letter has made the book to earn one extra ⭐
