She's made herself queen at this school. It's time I put her on her knees.
Blaire Conrad isn't just the most popular girl at Stonewall Academy. She's a queen who reigns over her subjects with an iron fist. But she's made me an enemy, and I don't play by her rules.
I make the rules, and I punish my enemies.
She'll scream and beg as I strip her, spank her, and force one brutal climax after another from her beautiful little body, but before I'm done with her she'll beg me shamefully for so much more.
It's time for the king to teach his queen her place.
Publisher's Note:Vendetta includes spankings, rough, intense sexual scenes, and strong D/s themes. If such material offends you, please don't buy this book.
I honestly cant remember if i read any sara books??? i have to double check.. This is a mafia/bully romance...
I has a hard time rating this some parts left me going ehh other parts i was annoyed and going well what a "queen"...
Col and Blaire have history and lets say you can call this a second chance now he's back in her school where she runs everything.. Queen as ice and rules.. but when it comes to Col shes a puppy.. i was sad she didnt even stand up for herself she rolled over so fast i was shocked... even her "revenge" plan sucked.. you would think after she gave this boy her vcard her revenge plan at school would be better.. and when he corners her she gives in.. her rumor tell the whole school she did sleep with him but he was well short comings.. come on for a ice queen that sucks.. maybe thats why this story is :/ to me i didn't see Blaire put up much of a fight.
Most of the book was sex and punishments and we can't be together but i love you to much to let you go.. plus once they were done being hate they were attached to the hip and all coozy, that and another mission someone tried to kill Col and Blaire no one stoping him from revenge bits of the mob tossed in now.
Low angst, No cheating, Drama, sexy times, virgin gal & ill be honest i can't remember his past i was tired
I don't know why I bothered with this author again when I dnfed the last book too. Same problems for both books. The situations are all super unrealistic and cheesy, and I just cant take anything serious. This one had way too much BDSM for me. No normal sex scenes at all. They were all just him telling her what to do and spanking her which isn't really my thing. I can read about it, but not for every sex scene, which this entire book is pretty much full of. The sex scenes are all just so repetitive too and they literally go on for pages and pages. No plot really, just sex, a small convo, talk about punishment, more sex.
The heroine was eh. I normally like mean girls as heroines and I like seeing their development, but this one had literally no reason to be mean, and it was a big part in the beginning, but then her betraying body syndrome became so bad that she just turned completely weak and compliant. I also hated how she constantly addressed him as "sir", and the moments she says it are always legit the worst and most awkward times. She definitely had a 180 alright, but not in a good way.
Overall, not a great book. If it was fleshed out and longer it may have been a bit better, but then again, there was nothing i really liked about what I read either.
ETA: This book has had a bizarre and mysterious production history. Originally released on December 13, 2019, it disappeared from Amazon less than two weeks later. Last week (April 30, 2020), it was re-released as On Her Knees, with the disclaimer that it had been originally published under a different title. Nowhere can I find any explanation for this: while books are sometimes re-issued with different titles, it's usually at least a few years later, and I've never seen the original book pulled this quickly. From what I can tell no changes were made -- including one very disturbing scene in which the H sticks a loaded gun into the private parts of his h. In any case and under whatever title, I don't recommend this for all the reasons I lay out below.
Short version: For those who are fans of this author and this genre: yes, there are spankings (though they were so brutal, I consider them beatings); yes, there are several detailed erotic scenes; and yes, there's action.
Long version: I've only read one other "bully" romance (Alpha Bully) and decided that this particular sub-genre wasn't for me for two reasons. First, I honestly am not a fan of the current popular sub-genres in BDSM right now -- shifter, mafia, and bully -- since whenever a sub-genre becomes popular, it then gets done to death. Every BDSM/DD author out there currently has a shifter or mafia or shifter/mafia or bully/mafia book (have I included all the possible combinations or am I missing one?) -- even those who shouldn't. Secondly, and more importantly, because it's the male H who is the bully/shifter/mafia, I feel that those character types just reinforce the age-old and extremely misogynistic romantic trope of the "bad boy" who is redeemed by the unwavering love and forgiveness of the "good girl." That this good girl is usually a masochist (and not in a fun way) whose life, thoughts, and feelings then revolve around someone who has treated her poorly is just not something I want to read. I'm so not here for dis-empowering women in fiction when we get enough of that in the non-fictional world.
Despite my trepidation, I decided to read this because the blurb made it sound like the gender roles were reversed: that it was the MFC who was the bully. Now, I don't believe that you can just reverse the dyad (that is, women become more powerful if they are also, like men, more violent), but I did think that a reversal in stereotypical gender roles might be interesting. It wasn't.
Below are some of my observations; YMMV:
1) I had to swallow more than my usual disbelief to even get through what is -- even by these generic standards -- a pretty outlandish plot. Col is the secret love child of a powerful mafioso; at the tender age of 10, he was already making arrangements for taking care of Blaire; and, at the equally tender age of 20 and with no experience, he becomes a mafia boss (something that his biology teacher/mafia protector tells him after class, thus giving new meaning to being kept after school). The main characters go from 0 to 180 in terms of their relationship in probably what is less than 15 minutes (including anal). Finally, at the end, after Blaire ?" Ms. Fields is known for her over-the-top plots and lack of subtlety, so this may not bother others.
2) This novel is one of the very few in which I've found the H more sympathetic than the h; thus, even given their history, I never really understood why Col still cared so much for Blaire -- even her difficult childhood didn't really explain why she was so obnoxious (her POV didn't really clarify this). But, like all h's in these books, she folds at her first spanking, so I wouldn't describe her as particularly "strong," as everyone called her.
3) So, Col becomes a bully to protect Blare: to drive her away from him so that she won't be caught between rival mafia families. You can decide if this is enough of a motivation for a man to throw a young girl out of his house right after she has sex for the first time. For me, it wasn't.
4) There is no difference between what Matt does to Blaire and what Col does to Blaire: Both rip her clothes off and put their hands on her without her consent. I know we're supposed to feel that there is because Col is the "hero" and he didn't drug her. I was still unconvinced. And "v-card?" Really? Can we please NOT slut-shame?
5) The gun-play was extraordinarily, dangerously, moronically stupid, even for this genre. Let's hope no reader decides that this might be "fun" to try. And for the umpteenth time, I have to wonder just how carefully SNP and Blushing Books pay attention to the content of their books.
The above aside, I just could not get past the ages of the characters. Now, it's true that characters this young simply don't interest me because of my own age, but, my objection is more than that. Yes, both are technically 18 (Col is 20 and it's never explained why he was held back for 2 years; this book did have several continuity issues), but they are still in high school. And, while 18 may mean legal adulthood, it does not indicate mental, emotional, ethical, or even physical maturity. Certainly, I was glad, at least, that Col and Blaire were the same age (thus removing some of the ick factor so prevalent in many other books that consistently feature a barely-legal h and much-older H; the fact that this isn't actually pedophilia is, quite frankly, merely a technicality). But, it still made me very uncomfortable to read about teenagers in a kink book. Yes, I know that teenagers are sexually active. No, I'm not judging them; I just hope they're using condoms-- which Col and Blaire didn't do, BTW (so much for high school Sex Ed) -- and practicing consent. But what's going on in this book is different and I just couldn't reconcile their ages with BDSM practices. Some of this, however, is my own subjective response (prompted, in large part, by my profession) and I understand that some other readers will feel differently. It's also possible that some may not.
This just wasn't my type of book. I am very surprised due to loving everything I've read by Sara Fields, but two young people still in school just isn't my cup of tea. Blair is a mean brat who thinks she's all that. Col Lucchese is 20, still in school and a strong disciplinarian aka Dominant. The story was filled with hot kinky sex, which I do like in my books but the image Of these young people living the debauched life just didn't ring true to me. I guess I am just not into the bully romances. I am looking forward to Ms. Fields writing with her usual style about adult subjects with mature adults.
I was in the mood for a bully romance and found this in my TBR list. Well, I always enjoyed SF's brand of smut writing, even if there is generally too many spanking sh*t going on 🙄, and in this book, there sure is the required level of hot smut. That said, Chapter 3 was a so long smut chapter that I would have enjoyed better if I could have suspended my disbelief of all these sexual acts happening between these characters in the course of one night (re: H blessing very roughly for the first time ever all the h's holes, interspersed with ass long - pun intended 😑 - painful spanking scenes, while bringing supposedly the h to her peak countless times 😬). And the ages of the couple did not help at all (H-20, h-18) to make it believable, like at all 🤨🙄😵.
While SF's books tend to have tenuous plots beside the smut, this book has one of the worst ever, not so much because of the OTT-ness but because again I could not believe that characters of such ages, no matter how unconventional their upbringing experiences were, would act like they did, or say the things they did, or have other characters interact with them as the plot dictated. Too much eye rolling moments to make this enjoyable. Honestly, I had to skim read to finish this one. For once the smut did not save the book. There are definitely better, relatively more balanced SF books out there.
My GR friend JD has a better review than mine on why this book is so sub-par.

Make no mistake this book is filled with very hot & steamy scenes. But it just wasn't my usual type of book.
As Col and Blaire are still in high school their relationship didn't feel right, and I felt that they were just too young to be experiencing the hardcore side of BDSM and master/slave dynamic. Looking forward to reading your next book Sara Fields

Speaking of high school mafia… This book is so dirty I don’t even know how to review it. I mean, it was enthralling. And kinky. You’ve been warned.
The heroine doesn’t know it, but she owes everything to the hero: her family’s wealth, her tuition at her prep school, even her popularity. But she insists on treating him like gum stuck to her shoe, and he just can’t resist showing her who’s (mafia) boss.
The hero’s father is head of the mafia, but his untimely death forces the hero to choose: step up and demand his rightful place in the family, or sit back and let someone else take over. This tough decision is complicated by his feelings for the heroine, which he’s tried to let go of, but just can’t.
When she shows up at his house, intent on humiliating him, well, let’s just say she doesn’t leave until the next morning. And that one night wasn’t enough for either of them. They both realize they crave the other, and all their assumptions are turned upside down.
I think it takes a lot in a book to make me blush, but Vendetta did it. Content warning for BDSM and dubious consent. Read at your own risk. 5 stars from me.

This is a filthy, beautifully written book. With such a dirty talker you will be left breathless. I hope we get more from these characters as they are just what I love. #pinkflamingoproduction #flockreview #audiobookobsessionreviewer
I thought this book was a high school romance with a mafia family and some steamy scenes all wrapped up into one... nope! No such luck.
This is a BDSM Erotic novel, where the characters reminded me a lot of a Gossip Girl and a Mean Girls hybrid. There’s no normal sex, no tenderness, no normality, vanilla, convencional,... whatsoever. They’re kids! I’m not into BDSM, tho I can read some, but they’re kids, she was a virgin, for crying out loud... it just felt weird.
The book doesn’t even seem to have much of a narrative going on. It’s just fought sex scene one after the other that goes on for pages on end. If you’re into BDSM Erotica than you found your book. There’s like 200 pages of speaking and humiliation and rough sex...
This book has some hot scenes. They are mostly very similar to some of her other books. The h does something bad, the H spanks her by hand and with an implement. They get to third base. She does something else, he spanks her again, they have sex, rinse repeat. There's usually 4 cycles of punishment. I think Cqin's book had an extra cycle. The book with the bride on the cover, which was the best story, had a different bdsm type punishment.
I could have really loved this if it weren't for 3 things. He is 20 and she is 18. He is 2 years behind in school due to being in hiding his whole life, so they are both high school seniors. I think it was the last half of the year.
There is no likely way a boy his age, who had been in hiding, would have that much sexual experience. He wasn't out hitting up clubs or having older women drop by his house. No way he would have been that versed in even the first steps of kink. Really, a spanking is pretty mild in the non vanilla world but it wasn't just that she spanked her it was how and that he expected the results he got.
Secondly, this book is the birth of our H as a mob kingpin. Had he taken over for his dad as monarch or as the top tycoon of the oil industry, it would have been different. I just couldn't be excited about them starting a life of crime. He is very cold blooded about killing those against him in the family/organization. His caretaker had tried to keep him from that and failed. I think he would have been disappointed in him but probably would have realized it was that or die. But it didn't have to be. The book didn't have to be written that way.
The kids in their private high school went beyond Mean Girls cruelty. They truly ruined people's lives. Our H and h are in the middle of doing that to each other but he has really just been toying with her. It really angered me that he had gotten her family off the streets and got her parents jobs that paid so well they could afford to send her to a ridiculously expensive high school. One of the most expensive in the US. And even knowing she would be searching for food in a dumpster still or turning tricks by now if he had not rescued them, she still tries to force him to move. I really hated that part of the story regardless of my other two issues. They could have been 10 years older and been the pillars of the community and I would have hated that part. It made the h seem callous. Although, she probably was doing it to get his attention.
What I did love was the unity that had when facing taking over the mob. How much trust they had the other wouldn't betray them. Not sure what they founded that trust on based on past behaviors, but it was there. She made him stronger when having her in his life at all could have been a weakness.
Ok, so I did hate a 4th thing. She was being groomed to learn to take care of her Italian man - to cook for him and to be waiting for him after he was done with the "men's work." That term wasn't stated but it was definitely a 50s mentality in the mob.
There were some things that were ridiculous - she wouldn't have learned how to use a hand gun and be really accurate with it after one lesson at night.
Obviously, you're reading this as erotica. If you need it to push the right buttons and spankings are it for you, you'll probably be pleased but I can't imagine many people being thrilled with the story. If you've read other books by her that seem to sound familiar, this one probably fits the same cookie cutter. If the others worked for you, this will too, but be prepared to roll your eyes and imagine the MCs are at least 3-5 years older.
I got this on audible thinking it would be a bully romance as that is the category it was in.
It's not.
It's just dom/sub
Very little story and mostly just overly long sex scenes that got boring listening to the same repetitive talk. The begining basically starts as the dom saves her from being date raped by her boyfriend, then later essentially rapes her himself as punishment. But she began to enjoy it and she was dirty and wanted her holes filled by him blah blah blah.
There is about two chapters in total of any sort of plot and it's weak.
Love confessions were thrown in fairy early making it lose any bully vibe it was trying for.
It's just a dom/sub smut book. I'm disappointed that it was wrongly catogorised. I should have bought Fear You instead.
This was a tough one for me actually to listen to and continue. I love dark stories, like kinky, D/S stories, you name it. I don't have a lot of triggers so I was interested to listen to this mafia bully romance. I was kept being taken out of the world Sara created with some of the choices made in the storyline. I'll get to that in a bit. Gonna go over what stuff I did like about the audiobook.
I thought the narration was decent by Bridget and Gavin. I think Bridget did a good job and Gavin wasn't as strong but pulled it out as the story went on. I think for me that is what saved this audiobook from being a DNF for me. The narrators did a good job jumping into this standalone focused on the mafia lifestyle, with some dark tendencies from the main characters to up the ante.
Now for the storyline. Now I prefaced this review saying most things I read don't bother me/trigger me, but the way the story did kink here hurt my kinky soul. 1. the characters definitely didnt sound/act like high schoolers. I don't care that they are 18 and seniors, they wouldn't be at this level of D/S, especially when the MMC is hiding from the bad guys his whole life. It's not realistic at all (like he would have been going to clubs to get that experience from a Dom/Sub, and that isn't something he probably could do in his small town, so no one would suspect him of being the illegitimate kid of a mafia kingpin/mafioso. 2. The way the MMC brought the FMC into this world is not something that can be done in one night. I know, it's fiction, but physically what the MMC (and remember this is contemporary so it is supposed to be sorta realistic) would injure the FMC and cause A LOT OF PROBLEMS. You can't just jump into that one night. You have to work up to it and there wasn't any of that. 3. I love spankings, but this was not that in here. He literally beats her in some scenes, and I get she liked it, but that is not how a D/S works, with how much he hit her that first time together. Those were the main points for me not liking most of this story unfortunately.
I thought the action that the MMC and FMC dealt with midway to the end was good, and that bumped the story up to a 2 stars for me and made me continue listening. I just wish the first scene with the MMC and FMC in an intimate setting was done differently. At least foreplay on some of the more intense penetrations, if you know what I mean. And this isn't even about erotica vs. not. I listen and read all type of stories, so I am not averse to graphic, long sex scenes. I just couldn't get into it and it frustrated me most of the audiobook because it was so far removed from the D/S, dark/kink world. It felt like the author was not familiar with this world and didnt do their research.
This is one of those stories that in my opinion had a good premise and got my attention with the blurb. And I have enjoyed other books from the author so I was confident going in. But it had to build to likable for me. One of the things I really liked were the narrators. The female narrator in particular had a really good voice and I thought gave a good performance. The male narrator was good, but even after everything is said and done, I’m not sure I liked him for the age this character was supposed to be. I would have liked the pairing better with a more mature character. But the character himself, Col, was another thing I liked. He may have been bossy, and very dominant, and did all the things I expected from this type of story, but he did a lot of kind things and he clearly had several good qualities.
One the other side I did find some things not so likable. I found the ages to be a bit confusing. I knew that this was a bully/mafia romance. And from the description, I was expecting high school level (preferably senior year). And Blair being 18 I understood and was comfortable with. I just didn’t get Col’s age of 20. It was explained how he was still at the academy at that age, I just didn’t feel like that aspect made sense to me. I almost wished the author had just had the story start in college instead of high school, but maybe that would have been problematic for the whole queen bee thing. Which brings me to the biggest reason for the 3 star rating for me. I really didn’t like Blair through most of the book. I feel like Col was very good to her and helped when he didn’t need to and she turned on him. Her whole attitude towards him when you know how they met just makes her seem selfish and ungrateful and makes me question why he even wanted her. But as the story continues and we get into the action I feel she grew on me a little bit.
Overall this was an entertaining story, and won’t have me even hesitate to pick up another Sara Fields book, but the leading lady alone kept this one from being more stars for me. 🎧The Flock🎧
(Now Re-released as 'On Her Knees) ***************************** Oh, man, oh man, before diving into this one by Ms Fields you'd best gird your loins, throw away your pearls & hang on for one helluva ride! This story may have two high schoolers, Col & Blaire, s the H/h but the situations, erotic & mafia related, are full on ADULT. As always, Ms Fields knows full well how to write erotic scenes that sizzle off your Kindle & this one delivers. Informal but intense BDSM between a King & his Queen that makes a reader's toes curl & their teeth tug at their lower lip, mafia plotting & action that rachets up the reader's tension & keeps them on tenterhooks & both keep the reader deliciously & thoroughly engaged from the first to the last word. While the erotic portions thrill, the mafia portion seems as though a strain to accept from a high school boy kept far from the mafia world BUT that truthfully is irrevelent: the writing is excellent, Ms Fields smoothly pulls the reader deep into Col & Blaire's world & relationship. We CARE about them, WANT them to be together, WORRY if they will survive themselves as well as the dark world into which Col finds them inescapably yanked. But both Col & Blaire have steel spines & indomidable wills & determination to not just survive, but thrive & rule. This one has scorching steam, intense H/h's, characters that enthrall & a plot that intrigues. A wonderfully written & wildly intense & tense thrill ride I greatly enjoyed & I think must readers will too.

This is my first read of Sara Fields and I am impressed with it. It is on the dark side, there is strong D/s atmosphere with tons of rougher sex. If that doesn’t appeal to you, I wouldn’t venture into this - but if it does appeal to you, I would suggest diving into this delectable young adult read.
Blaire is the ice queen princess of her school and when she learns a deep secret of Col’s, she plans on using it to her advantage to make him leave. Col is the young man that helped Blaire and her family go from homeless to where they are now. He continues to keep watch over her, keeping her safe. But when she confronts him and shares her knowledge of his true identity, he chooses to take a different approach of teaching her a lesson and keeping his secret safe. Sparks ignite and the flames raise high between them when subdued feelings for each other are shared and love is confessed. But when Blaire’s life is put into danger, will Col be able to save her and keep his little queen by his side?
This book had action, steam and just the right amount of angst. I loved how Sara developed the characters and how she kept you guessing what was going to happen next. I really enjoyed reading this story and can see myself reading more of Sara’s works in the future.

Blaire and Col met many years earlier when they were children. He was rich and well cared for; she was living homeless with her parents. He cared for her immediately and made sure she grew up safe.
Blaire has worked her way up to becoming Miss Popularity of Stonewall Academy. Con remained the strong, quiet, secretly illegitimate son of a New York Mafia boss.
When tragedy strikes, Col is placed in a new role. Blaire threatens him and ends up in a dub con position with punishments/rewards and life altering adjustments. Who knew pain could be filled with such pleasure? How can a bitchy high school senior know what her body desires? Can humiliation and strong discipline spike her intense arousal? Can what she initially feared become that which she ultimately craves?
My Gosh, this story is degenerately arousing and evilly erotic. I know what a great writer Sara Fields is, but this goes even further. I am in awe and surprise at how skilled Sara can take simple words and objects and make my whole being react with excitement and shock. Col is a vibrantly seductive Dominant; Blaire an anxiety ridden yet eagerly accepting submissive. You will need to read for yourself to see how their interaction plays out.
Blaire was the ice queen that tormented Col but she forgot how she got there. Who got her to the level? Who always protected her? Col knew she was off limits but there was something about her that drew her to him. He couldn’t stay away. When things took a drastic turn, her taunting was going to end with a very sore bottom and her learning that he was not some lowly peon. He was the King and he was about to show the queen who she truly bowed down too.
You have to love this. She was such a B*&%$. I am surprised that he put up with her for this long. I was so glad the tables did turn. She really did need that butt warming. And boy was it not only hot but steamy and sexy. I was almost falling into my kindle reading all the scenes. You end up holding your breath during some parts and just falling in. And she did get more than just a warm bottom but a very sorry friend in between. {wink} I cannot even imagine how that hurt. Then there was the “training.” WOW!!! That is some serious trust there. I need a cold shower after reading this.
WOW WOW WOW Blaire Conrad didnt have the best childhood. Living on the streets after her parents lost there home. But when Con saw her waiting outside an Italian restaurant waiting for scraps he knew he had to help her. He changed her life forever. what she didnt know was Con was the son of the mafia boss and what Con wanted he got so he got her parents a job, a place to live and got Blaire into the best schools. Now years later Blaire was the most popular girl at college and she had turned into a ice queen. Blaire and Con were now enemy's but that didnt stop Con from saving her from her boyfriend who was going to drug her just to get her virginity. But now things got serious when his father and brother had been gunned down and it looked like Con was wanted to take over. but When Blaire comes to his home to blackmail him everything changed. Con had enough. This is a great read that I couldnt put down. Its an exciting read and the chemistry between these two is electric!!

This is a completely new author for me. I found it of interest when I read it was bully romance which is my trope of choice. The mention of mafia romance got me too. This book was a not the traditional bully romance and was really all BDSM. The characters were also in high school.
If you enjoy BDSM then you may enjoy this book, I found it a little too out of touch with reality as the level of knowledge of BDSM was a little much for high schoolers. Add the fact that Blaire was a virgin and is thrown into extreme sexual techniques right from the get-go was just too much for me.
I felt as the “bully” Blaire didn’t match up to most bullies. Sure she was mean at times but when it came to Col she was very submissive. I honestly wanted her to fight a little more but quickly feel to Col’s every command.
I think this story could have been really enjoyable had it not felt so rushed.
I will say the narration and performance of this audiobook was fantastic! I think it’s what propelled me to finish the book. I’d definitely listen to these narrators again for sure.
I received this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
She loved his punishments that gave them both so much pleasure! by sewsummore This book surprised me with it's intensity of a love affair that started when Blaire was just a child and Col not much older. In their teens they had a love hate relationship, that all changed when when his mafia father and half brother were gunned down in cold blood. Their relationship changed not only sexually but in a numerous other ways. Before Blaire had all the cards and Col let her but after his father's death it was time for the King to take the reins and make Blaire his Queen. This book had some BDSM scenes that were consensual between the two of them but shocking in their brutality. This book is not for the faint hearted but their relationship was based on a deep love between them, she was his and loved his punishments that gave them both so much pleasure. I received a free ARC copy of this book and have voluntarily given an honest review!
This book is about Blaire she's a high school senior that thinks she's queen bee. But when she decides to mess with Col a guy from her past she may get more than she bargained for.
I liked Blaire she was fierce but submissive to Col I was definitely not expecting her to just give in to everything he wanted but she did threaten him so punishment was in order. I thought the second half of the book was crazy with all the violence and sex. I do have to admit that I didn't really liked the scene with "gunplay" that kind of use of guns isn't sexy it's scary even if we do find out it wasn't loaded. But all in all I really enjoyed this book. I liked how Col taught Blaire how to use a gun and she was able to defend herself against his attackers and that they were a good pair.
I would recommend this book if you like a gritty romance with elements of high school rivalry between the main characters and some hot somewhat dubious sex. A great read.
To be honest, this book had more sex than story. Col was definitely the quiet type. Not sure how I feel sticking him with a bunch of kids because his age needed to be falsified because of his hidden identity.
I felt like the sex was the main course and the story was the side dish. Also, so much was happening that I felt like I was reading the story on super fast-forward. I like Col, dark and mysterious. Blair was meanest of mean but that came off really quick when yielding and submissive.
Overall, it was an overflowing of BDSM, it’s a quick read to kill time. Not the best I’ve read but, still somewhat enjoyed the quickie read.
***I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s definitely about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the stories you read. I hope this review was helpful.
I'll be honest with you, I don't know how I feel about one of my fav authors hoping the "bully academy romance" band-wagon. It seemed that everyone and their mother is doing these books like there is no tomorrow in sight. SF is so good at her genre that I feel she doesn't need to join the "me-to's". That being said I do understand the need to reach a broader audience and that if they hadn't read her stuff before, after reading this they'll be fans. It's got all the deliciously dark and kinky themes that SF does so well. She does that Alpha, brooding, bad-boy so well know wonder the FMC's are always an uncontrollable, lusty mess. So though this book doesn't fall within SF's usual repertoire, don't let that stop you from reading it. It's still a SF book through-and-through.

★ A dark and hot read - Reigning with his ice queen ★
—>>> When Col Mason overhears plans for ruination of the reigning ice queen of the Stonewall Academy elite, Blaire Conrad, he makes sure he is there to put a stop to it. “She was my fucking addiction and there wasn’t anything I could do to rid myself of her.” But the way he does so turns Blaire vindictive, and Col does not see that coming. Unfortunately, she was not the only one he had to watch, because an event occurs which triggers consequences and a buried past, and these will sweep through Col’s life, carrying Blaire along with him as he tries to get his feet back under himself and figure out what to do nest as well as who to trust around him. But Col definitely knows what he wants, and he wants Blaire to be by his side when he goes for it all. A dark and hot read!
Ms. Fields’ books are always HAWT!! And this book is no exception. I really liked that this book has story to balance the off the charts heat. What makes it even more sizzling, almost too hot to touch, is the fact that Col and Blaire are in high school. Ms. Fields never says their ages, and Col is a few years older, so we can assume she is hopefully 18 and he is 19 or 20. That was really the only thing that made me uncomfortable, that they could be under 18 - given their ... activities. Now the story was unrealistic (high school boy from mafia living on own and neither really ever see adults), but it’s a book so who cares and it certainly was panty-melting. If this is considered a bully romance, I am not sure which one would be considered the bully. Col is certainly dominant, knows how to take control, and Blaire responded well to that. I definitely enjoyed this book!
Omg this book was intense right from the start and the back and forth between Col and Blair fighting to be on top was brilliant. Each character was so well written that you could believe that they are real. Col saved Blair and gave her parents the good life to which helped put Blair at the top of the school’s popularity as the it girl and that put Col on the bottom and all he wanted was her but couldn’t have her it was to dangerous because his was the illegitimate son of the Lucchese mob family and his father was the mob boss and did everything to keep him hidden. So his life will always be at stake and anyone with him if they find out about him, so how can two people that fight against there feelings for each other survive when evil wants to take you out.

First of all I want to put it out there that this is NOT a normal mafia romance, it is edgier and raw in parts and I think that it may trigger certain feelings and is not for everyone .....
Col and Blaire’s story starts out young with both being in school and progresses quite rapidly as the story evolves with finding out Col is a young Mafia kingpin but it gets darker, dirtier and more raw with how he (as some may say cruelly) mastered Blaire from being the most popular girl in school to becoming his mafia Queen, and I must admit I liked where Sara Fields has taken this story...for me I enjoyed this book immensely and is worth the five stars.

Our couple do not exactly start on the best of terms, but one way or the other, that is going to change.
This is a bully romance with a bit of a BDSM element to it as well. If you have read any of this author's previous works, then you know roughly what to expect (except without aliens). The story is well written and the characters well developed giving you a solid core of a story. Add to that excellent chemistry between the characters (even when they are denying it), a bit of spanking and lots of steam and you have the formula for success. Overall, this was a highly enjoyable story and I look forward to more from this author.
Highly recommended.
