Nancy and her friends save a dog shelter’s big day in the thirteenth book in the interactive Nancy Drew Clue Book mystery series.
Helga and Horatio are getting married! The bride and groom are two fluffy white dogs belonging to one of River Heights’s more eccentric citizens, Mrs. Ainsworth. Mayor Strong’s mansion is decorated for the occasion, and the whole town is invited. The celebration is an effort to raise awareness for Waggamuffins, the local pet shelter. And Nancy, Bess, and George are helping out by walking three adoptable dogs down the aisle.
But the wedding comes to a barking halt when the bride and groom are found covered in sticky paint! Mrs. Ainsworth is so upset she calls off the whole thing and demands to know who is behind this color conundrum. But if the guests leave early, how will they meet all the cuddly canines that still need homes?
Can the Clue Crew solve the case of the painted pups before it’s too late? It’s up to the Clue Crew—and you—to find out!
Carolyn Keene is a writer pen name that was used by many different people- both men and women- over the years. The company that was the creator of the Nancy Drew series, the Stratemeyer Syndicate, hired a variety of writers. For Nancy Drew, the writers used the pseudonym Carolyn Keene to assure anonymity of the creator.
Edna and Harriet Stratemeyer inherited the company from their father Edward Stratemeyer. Edna contributed 10 plot outlines before passing the reins to her sister Harriet. It was Mildred Benson (aka: Mildred A. Wirt), who breathed such a feisty spirit into Nancy's character. Mildred wrote 23 of the original 30 Nancy Drew Mystery Stories®, including the first three. It was her characterization that helped make Nancy an instant hit. The Stratemeyer Syndicate's devotion to the series over the years under the reins of Harriet Stratemeyer Adams helped to keep the series alive and on store shelves for each succeeding generation of girls and boys. In 1959, Harriet, along with several writers, began a 25-year project to revise the earlier Carolyn Keene novels. The Nancy Drew books were condensed, racial stereotypes were removed, and the language was updated. In a few cases, outdated plots were completely rewritten.
Other writers of Nancy Drew volumes include Harriet herself, she wrote most of the series after Mildred quit writing for the Syndicate and in 1959 began a revision of the first 34 texts. The role of the writer of "Carolyn Keene" passed temporarily to Walter Karig who wrote three novels during the Great Depression. Also contributing to Nancy Drew's prolific existence were Leslie McFarlane, James Duncan Lawrence, Nancy Axelrod, Priscilla Doll, Charles Strong, Alma Sasse, Wilhelmina Rankin, George Waller Jr., and Margaret Scherf.

CONTENT/TRIGGER WARNINGS: - If you consider dogs being tie-dyed animal abuse, then animal abuse (?)
Personal Review: I believe if I had been younger, I might have enjoyed this book more thoroughly. As it stands, I'm not 13 years old, and so I found the book sweet but a little boring. Still, it was engaging, and it had illustrations in every chapter that was adorable. The font was large, and the book was short, which I also found to be a plus side, and I believe young children would enjoy this as well. As for the plot, I surprisingly did not predict the culprit(s) and was impressed by the plot twist and foreshadowing I had missed throughout the book.
Nancy Drew Clue Book: Puppy Love Prank. This one's all about a super special dog wedding and a mystery that needs some serious solving!
So, guess what? In this book, there's a dog wedding happening at Mayor Strong's mansion. A dog wedding, can you believe it? They want to help the River Heights pet shelter, which is totally pawsome!
So, Nancy and her friends are there to help out. But uh-oh, something strange happens! The fluffy dogs who were all ready for the wedding suddenly have colorful paw prints all over them. It's like a puppy prank gone wild!
Miss Strong wants to know who did it and why, so Nancy and her friends get to work. They're like super detectives, trying to figure out what happened and who's behind it. They even suspect some folks, like the River Heights dog lamb Squad, the Kitty Club, and a guy named Bradley Bishop who's all into tie-dye!
My favorite part was when they talked about the "something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue" tradition at weddings. It's like a secret code for luck! And let me tell you, the wedding had some surprises and a whole lot of animal love.
This book was sooo cool because it's a mix of mystery and animal fun. But you know what? I noticed something interesting. The way the characters look on the cover is a bit different from what I imagined. I mean, Bess is really pink, and Nancy looks kinda different. But George, with her black hair like mine, is my favorite!
I learned two super important things from this book. First, teamwork is like a superpower. When friends work together, they can solve any mystery! And second, suspects are like puzzle pieces. You have to interview them, find clues, and figure out if they're the ones causing the mystery.
So, if you love dogs, mysteries, and super fun adventures, "Nancy Drew Clue Book: Puppy Love Prank" is a must-read. It's full of surprises, funny pranks, and lessons about working together and solving mysteries. Trust me, you won't want to miss it!
In this book, Nancy, Bess, and George are taking part in a puppy wedding. But the bride and groom puppies get tye-died! I like this book because I love puppies! It is so cute!
