Magic Kingdom For Sale – Sold!: Landover was a genuine magic kingdom, with fairy folk and wizardry. The Black Unicorn: A year had passed since Ben Holiday bought the Magic Kingdom from the wizard Meeks, who had set a series of pitfalls against him. But Ben had been troubled by dreams of disaster to his former partner, Miles Bennett. Unknown to Ben, the dreams had been a trap by Meeks.
Wizard at Large: It all began when the half-able wizard Questor Thews announced that finally he could restore the Court Scribe Abernathy to human form. All went well - until the wizard breathed the magic dust of his spell and suddenly sneezed. Then, where Abernathy had stood, there was only a bottle containing a particularly evil imp.
The Tangle Box: Horris Kew, conjurer, confidence-man, and trickster, had returned to Landover from Ben's own world. Witches’ Brew: The Magic Kingdom of Landover was finally at peace, and Ben and his wife, the sylph Willow, could watch their daughter Mistaya grow. But his idyll was interrupted when Rydall, a king of lands beyond the fairy mist, assembled armies on Landover's border and threatened to invade.

Terry Brooks was born in Illinois in 1944, where he spent a great deal of his childhood and early adulthood dreaming up stories in and around Sinnissippi Park, the very same park that would eventually become the setting for his bestselling Word & Void trilogy. He went to college and received his undergraduate degree from Hamilton College, where he majored in English Literature, and he received his graduate degree from the School of Law at Washington & Lee University. A writer since high school, he wrote many stories within the genres of science fiction, western, fiction, and non-fiction, until one semester early in his college years he was given The Lord of the Rings to read. That moment changed Terry's life forever, because in Tolkien's great work he found all the elements needed to fully explore his writing combined in one genre. He then wrote The Sword of Shannara, the seven year grand result retaining sanity while studying at Washington & Lee University and practicing law. It became the first work of fiction ever to appear on the New York Times trade paperback bestseller list, where it remained for over five months.
I loved this book! It was fun, exciting and original. It was easy to fall in love with the characters and travel through this fantasy journey as the main character came to terms with his place in the new world.
I actually read this series and haven't listened to the audiobooks, but I'd imagine it's all the same.
I don't want to give away anything - this series is great! It's creative and has a bit of everything a story could grab. The start it a little bit slow, but once it starts it goes quick. There is a lot of development on top of former notes within the story and history of landover.
These were the abridged version of the Magic Kingdom series, it was more than a little disappointing to listen to my introduction to the sci-fi world with my kids like this.
Terry Brooks is my all time favorite writer. These books are engaging, entertaining and worth a read. The idea you can walk into a new world fascinates me. You will enjoy every minute!
I enjoyed all the books in the series. I didn't think I'd like it, being a mix of fantasy, and modern world. However, it added to it's charm.
I liked all the characters, and creatures. The character progression was well done, each person with their virtues, and flaws.
I'm giving it 5 stars due to being entertaining, and something different. I really enjoyed being immersed in a world with a completely different mythos than I'm used to.
I'd recommend these books to any fantasy reader out there. I'm looking forward to the final book in the series.
