To find her happiness, she'll first have to find her courage.

Kitty is the first to admit that she is far from brave, and applying to the Pinkerton Detective Agency to become one of their new female agents is the most daring thing she’s ever done.

Her fragile resolve almost fails her when she discovers she must marry her training agent for the duration of her first case, but Ben Riley turns out to be caring and fun, and outrageously flirtatious. And even though she knows he’s not serious, she can’t help enjoying his attention.

On the case of a stolen dinosaur skull in the Utah wilderness, her confidence grows. But so do her feelings for Ben.

And Kitty begins to wonder if what she should really be afraid of is a broken heart.

Lady Pinkerton detectives, their rough and ready agents, and a whole lot of excitement and romance! The Pinkerton Matchmaker series tells the stories of the women determined to bring criminals to justice, and the agents who win their hearts. Each book is a standalone story and they can be read in any order.

Nerys Leigh writes wildly romantic stories about American mail order brides, which could be considered strange as she is British and has never been married. But she thinks the old adage of writing what you know is codswallop.

She thinks cheesecake and white chocolate are mankind's greatest inventions. One day she’ll eat a white chocolate cheesecake and her life will be complete.

She loves nothing more than to guide her heroes and heroines to true love and then find out that other people adore her characters as much as she does.

If you sign up for her newsletter at http://eepurl.com/b-Gj2T she will he so ridiculously grateful that she’ll give you a free novella called The Blacksmith’s Heart, the story of a widowed single father who finds the love of his life a second time.

Nerys hasn’t ever used the word codswallop before. It’s likely she never will again.

An Agent for Kitty is part of the Pinkerton Matchmakers series, in which a woman with a desire to become an agent with the Pinkerton National Detective Agency is matched with a male agent for training. The two are married (for the sake of propriety) and sent off to solve a crime. The novels are quick reads, and a lot of fun.

Kitty and Ben are sent to Utah, to investigate the theft of a dinosaur skull from an archaeological dig that is slowly uncovering a complete skeleton. Kitty is a timid young woman, the complete opposite of Ben. Ben is outgoing, confident, and definitely likes women. Kitty is nothing like his usual girlfriends, and he enjoys teasing her.

It doesn’t take long before Kitty begins contributing to the case through her powers of observation. I liked that she was clever—I’m always a fan of an intelligent heroine. And Ben was a wonderful hero, just the right combination of cocky and caring.

I’ve enjoyed all the Nerys Leigh books I’ve read so far, but I think this was my favourite. Why? Because it was funny. Kitty starts off as more mouse than cat (or kitten). But, with Ben’s guidance, she gradually comes out of herself and develops a personality.

Yes, I know that sounds bad. But Kitty hasn’t had the best upbringing, so she has never had the opportunity to discover who she is as a person. Ben gives her that opportunity, and it’s great to see Kitty learn that she can display her true personality and be loved for who she is.

Overall, An Agent for Kitty is a fun romantic suspense novel set against the emerging science of archaeology, and will appeal to fans of Christian westerns.

What a great character. Kitty is very shy and introverted while her "husband" is very outgoing and rather a ladies man, which we get a picture of right at the beginning of the story.

Ben and Kitty are at an archeological dig and the head of a dinosaur has gone missing - they have to find out who took it. Not a lot of danger at the beginning of the story, but when the culprit(s) get antsy then things start to happen.

Some of the scenes between Ben and Kitty are quite humorous and some poignant. A nice clean romance.

Sweet Historical Romance

This was a book that kept me smiling! Ben's arrogance in his ability to make women swoon, comes out playfully as his timid wife shows her meek interest! His morning rituals were funny, sweet, and definitely cocky, but oh so entertaining! Definitely a story of opposites attract! Perfect ending!

Dance everyday, whether there's music or not!

I really like the Pinkerton Matchmaker series but I LOVED this book. Kitty and Ben are such a sweet couple, Kitty brings out the care and protective instincts that Ben never knew he had and under these Kitty blossoms from a shy girl who blends into a strong, confident, funny, sassy woman. A treat to read, I read this on Kindle Unlimited.

An Agent For Kitty

A sweet romance with detective work thrown in. In order for Kitty to become a Pinkerton Agent she will have to marry her partner before they go on assignment to find dinosaur bones. Kitty is shy to the extreme, will she be able to marry even if in name only???

Cute, sweet, funny

An Agent for Kitty is a new favorite of the series. A fun relationship to watch unfold as Kitty comes out of her shell for her sweet, flirty husband.

Kitty is a shy orphan who is used to blending into the background. She is also super observant and willing to be trained. She didn't expect to be married off for her first case but she goes along with it in order to become a Pinkerton agent. Ben is a big flirt but finds there's something special about this super quiet little lady.
They are sent to investigate at a Dinosaur Excavation Camp. They go along with the couple from book #32 but are at a different camp. Their case is centered on a missing Dinosaur skull. I really liked that the couples were in each others' books but had their own assignments. Both authors obviously got together to plan the storylines out and it made everything work smoothly in both books.
I really enjoyed their interactions and even how Ben liked to gently tease her a little when they were alone. It was cute to watch Kitty come out of her shell and see how her skills were helpful. Some things reminded me a little of my husband and I so that made it even cuter to me. And the ending was sweet, almost had me tearing up.
The previous book was good but I really enjoyed this one so much more. These 2 just seemed to work together well and he seemed to value her input right from the start, unlike a lot of the previous male agents.
Definitely read this book! A clean, sweet romance.

This happened in Denver Colorado & Utah, August 1872,
going forward.

Kitty survived a Cincinnati orphanage and work as a
seamstress, but wanted more. She wed her Pinkerton
training agent, Ben, with the understanding that the
marriage would be legally dissolved at the conclusion
of her 1st case. Ben had a flirty nature and once worked
on a cattle ranch. Ben planned to build her confidence.

The H+h's assignment? To locate a missing dino skull
200 pounds & 3 feet long. Ben took Kitty on assignment
w/o teaching her 1st to use a gun, ride a horse, or drive
a buckboard. Lessons began about 2/3 in. Kitty's saving
grace? her attention to detail & ability to improvise which
got them out of a few jams.

I like variety, ranging from 'clean' to erotic romances. This
'clean romance' had Ben kiss Kitty several times on the
forehead. Was he her brother or potential love interest?
Finally they shared a few real kisses. These 2 had v little
fussin' and fightin', yet something felt missing.

An Agent For Kitty 9 The Pinkerton Matchmaker-Book 33 )
By: Nerys Leigh
An Agent For kitty is book thirty-three in The Pinkerton Matchmaker Series. The author writes a good, clean story that will have you turning the pages to see what is going to happen next. This is Ben and Kitty story. Kitty is a very shy person and blushes at a little bit of nothing, but she wants to be a Pinkerton Agent. Ben is already a Pinkerton Agent. He is also a ladies man and a big flirt. These two are so different. When Kitty goes to apply to be an agent she gets a surprise. There are strings that goes alone with it. Will she go through with it or back out of something she wants really bad. What does Ben think of Kitty? I love reading about these two. I caught myself laughing several times through the story.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book, but was not told that I had to give a positive review. All opinions are my own.

Outstanding! Great characters who matured through the story making me happy to be along for the ride. This story was fun, humorous and had me laughing out loud to the very last page. The romance was a sweet clean romance that was truly romantic. The plot was great with a mystery of trying to figure out the bad guy, not to mention the action that took place trying to bring it to a close. Nery’s Leigh is a excellent author who holds the readers attention through the entire book! So much to love about this story.

Mouse or Cat

Kitty can't speak to anyone above a whisper and blushes when spoken to, so how could she become a Pinkerton agent? How could she become the wife of the biggest flirt? Even if it is just pretend? Ben finds a new sense of respect and protection about his Kitten. Best Pinkerton book yet!

I loved Kitty and Ben's story. She's extremely shy and can barely speak to people. He's confident, a flirt and a lady's man. How can they possibly make a good team as Pinkerton agents? Will Ben be able to get Kitty out of her shell or will he break her heart? They are sent out to find a dinosaur skull and figure out who would want to steal it. It's a fun and interesting story.

A super addition to the Pinkerton Matchmaker series. Ben and Kitty, both great characters, but total opposites. Really??? Maybe not in the detective business. How will they turn out??? Very well written and most engaging from the opening paragraph. Love these two. Highly recommend. I received an advance reader copy from the author. Opinions are my own.

Excellent read

Ben loves women and he's looking forward to training a female agent, but Kitty is a mouse. Everything about her is dull. But off they go to Utah to find of all things in the 1800"s a dinosaur skull. Soon Ben's Kitten gains her confidence and Ben learns that he only needs one woman.. His Gerry own Kitten whose observation skills are outstanding.

Kitty Denton is an unlikely Pinkerton agent. I loved how in the beginning people literally failed to see her even when she is in the same room. Ben Riley had good reason to wonder if she had what it took to be an agent. Fortunately she has amazing observational skills that prove valuable on their first assignment. A good addition to the Pinkerton Matchmaker series.

Great book!

I loved Kitty and Ben's story. Quiet and shy Kitty does not seem to be a suitable Pinkerton detective but looks can be deceiving. Ben is a known womaniser and yet he needs to get married. I loved watching these two grow and mature through the book. Great, sweet romance.

Both of the Pinkerton...dinosaur books were a lot of fun. I do hope there is another about the paleontologist daughter and the third Pinkerton agent. Looking forward to it!
