Mercy is happy for her best friend, Annamae, when she falls in love and marries, but she is saddened by the fact it leaves her desperately alone at the boarding house. She dearly misses her roommate and all the good times they shared as struggling actresses.
In the midst of her melancholy, she receives a gift of a lovely pair of gingerbread cookies from Mrs. Claus — a cheerful boy and girl decorated with red and white icing, holding hands. They’re accompanied by a note announcing that Christmas miracles come to those who believe, and love is the greatest miracle of all.
Mercy is breathless with excitement to realize it’s finally her turn, because every young woman in Pinetop who’s received such a gift has ended up married to the man of her dreams. There’s only one problem. Her own dreams have always included a knight, with skin as dark as her own, riding off with her into the sunset; whereas the only man currently vying for her affections is the giant of a Scotsman who serves as her trapeze partner at Castellano’s. Is it possible Mrs. Claus knows Mercy’s heart better than she knows it herself? Also, is it complete stuff and nonsense to believe a Christmas miracle is coming her way in July?
Another great book by Jo!! LOVED Mercy and Red's story!!!! Filled with hope, even after hardships. We're all more than our circumstances, and God can redeem us and use us, no matter what!! And, love can come any time of the year!!!!
While part of a series of stories written by multiple authors, this is a good standalone story. Mercy is a young woman with a tragic past now happy with her new circumstances. Mercy is part of a cast of performers who entertain patrons of an upscale dinner theater. Her partner is Jamie who has a tragic past of his own. As their relationship becomes close Mercy's past catches up with her almost killing her and then seriously harming Jamie whom she has married. Yet Mercy while helping Jamie to heal is caught up in serious charges stemming from her past employer. Problems are resolved and relationships healed. All is well that ends well. An Mrs. Claus, the catalyst to the multiple stories, is onto her next match making couple.
Jamie- scotsman who likes to preform Mercy- from Georia daughter of ex slaves who became a performer with her brother after parents died. I enjoyed reading this intriguing story that is fantastically written with charismatic characters and an engaging storyline. Their story has a sweet and miraculous HEA .
Oh I love Jamie and Mercy! They may be opposites in every way, but they are perfect for each other, I love how protective Jamie is of her. He knows she is strong and stands proud beside her, encouraging her and helping her fly. Such a beautiful romance, it brought a tear to my eye more than once.
Another great book in a great Christmas Series. I've really been enjoying this series and all the characters. Mrs Claus as a matchmaker and live blooms. I loved Mercy and Red's story and look forward to more books in the series.
Mercy dreams of a husband, especially now that all of her friends are marrying and leaving the boarding house. She left one bad situation where she had been beaten, after urging from her dying brother. She found herself in Pinestop and found a fantastic job with the Castellano’s. She dances beautifully and also performs on the trapeze. Then by chance she receives an ornament! She is excited because each girl that has gotten one has found her happily ever after! She has always had a picture in her mind of the man she would marry. But things change, and she is asked to be Jaime's wife. She and he start a path to happiness, but Mercy's past is closing in on them! Danger will surround them. Can they find their way out of trouble and reach their own Happiness? I highly recommend this book and the series. Each is a stand alone but the entire series is wonderful! The characters are fun and exciting.
Mrs. 🎅Claus ornament delivery was delayed. Can Christmas miracles happen I July? The 📚books in this series are all tied together by the Ornamental matches. Some of the authors in the series have connecting books. I would suggest reading the earlier books in the series that were written by Jo Grafford before reading this one. Mercy has faced so many challenges, hurts, and past rejections, what she needs is a person who will love 💘her and be beside her for a lifetime. This is a great weekend read.
Mercy knew when she got the ornament that it was her turn to find her happily ever after. She always dreamed her prince would tall, dark and handsome. She did not see anyone that matched that description, so she figured that she lost out because she got the ornament in July and not December. The only person trying to win her affection is her coworker...a redheaded Scotsman. Will she realize that Mrs. Claus knows best? Even in July!!!
I've been dipping into this series and recently picked up this latest one. Mercy's best friend Anna recently married, leaving her feeling alone. She works at a dinner theatre where her dance partner saves her when a new trapeze act goes wrong and expresses an interest in her. Then something from her past threatens to catch up with her.
A 5 star read because of its sweetness, thoughtfulness and heart-warming story! If I could give 10 or 100 stars I'll definitely give as much. Jo Grafford is truly one of the best Christian romance writer of our time!
Mercy finally found a home in Pinetop, though her friends were getting married one by one. Jaime knew the minute he saw her she was his. Follow along as these two get the HEA they deserve.
The Ornamental Match Maker is a intriguing series with a Christmas twist. Part romance, part mystery. Somebody keeps sending handcrafted Christmas ornaments with personalizes messages. Gingerbread people and plaid makes this romance unique. Fun summer read. This story can be read as a stand alone.
