LOVED this book!!! One of her best so far! I don't know how it's possible, but each new book by this author is my new favorite of hers. This is a sassy and sexy political romance that hooked my from the first page and kept me hooked until the very last page.

Gia is a hot shot political operative and Aiden is her candidate and, sadly, her milquetoast fiance. She cares more about getting him elected than he does. In her quest to raise campaign funds, Gia sets her sights on Logan, a newcomer to the community and a wealthy man with a history of funding the underdog. What she finds when they meet is more than either bargained for.

Put this one at the top of your TBR list as it's the must read of the summer! This is a great start to a new series and I'm already looking forward to the next book - however, this is a stand alone novel. The author is on my must read authors' list.

What a great new series. Ms. Taylor has such a writing gift that she pulls you in to the story, and you have a hard time putting the book down. This is politics in its worst form and best form. Gia is such a strong woman who has grown up under her charismatic politician father and knows the ropes. She will stop at nothing to get what she wants. Logan is new to the town, but he is rich, charming, and handsome. He pulled off a campaign in Washington DC, to get an unknown elected. Gina is attempting to do the same thing in her town. The book is thrilling with surprises around every corner. I can’t wait for the next book to see what happens and the surprises Ms. Taylor has in store for us. I strongly encourage you to read the book. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader’s Copy of this book.

Against the odds😳

Gia is a political campaign manager and is trying to get funds for her candidate. When she tries to approach Logan for funding for the campaign, she has road blocks thrown up at her left and right, which is when she decides to go all out. Unfortunately, she is holy unprepared for the effect he has on her❣️

An intriguing start to this story and I admit I’m interested to read what happens next and find out more about Logan😍

Ok. I'm hooked! I didn't think I would be because "bodacious" and a couple of other words I attribute solely to Taylor Lee's writing seemed to come up more often than usual.

I have to say that I started out to read a chapter because I was reading another book at the time. I could not put this down. I was not prepared to enjoy a book about politics given the volatility of our current political climate. This grabs you at the very beginning.

Gia was fierce, strong, independent, and intelligent. She was also fragility personified and vulnerable. The men closest to her seemed to be the only ones that recognized her vulnerability.

Logan also had the same qualities as Gia, along with being dominant, arrogant, and slightly pompous. But, Logan was one of those men who recognized Gia's needs and attempted to take care of her.

This book has some interesting twists. The situation with her father hit her hard. The situation with her candidate was a surprise. Not in some ways, but in other ways, whew! That is not to mention the shenanigans that occur toward the end of the book. Then, to top it off, we have the end of the book. Surprise!!

I can only surmise there is more to come with the Candidate Book series. There is an end to this book, but not really. I kept trying to turn the page at the end, to no avail. Things end. Things begin. Things continue.

I enjoyed this story. It was a fun read and I liked the characters. Gia is a brash Irish woman that has a head for politics. She is working as campaign manager and is out to prove herself. She has a lot of the traits that Taylor Lee's heroines tend to have but she feels like she is in the beginning stages of her overconfidence and brash outbursts compared to some other ones, as she has flashes of doubt before she pushes through and goes for it. I liked Gia. Logan is a wealthy man that has recently taken the tech world by storm with his company. He is working on setting up a plant and he choice one of the "flyover states" to do so. Gia pursues him in order to get funding for the campaign she is working on but things do not go smoothly for her. Gia and Logan have an instant chemistry to each other but they have issues they have to work through. There are a few twists in this story and I am excited to see what the next one will bring. There is definitely more to some of the characters than what we've seen in this first part of the series.

I absolutely love every book that Taylor Lee has writren; so when she came out with Against the Odds, a political thriller I was a little concerned as I am not a big fan of politics, especially given our current environment. But let me tell you, fans of Taylor's will not be disappointed; and those of you that haven't read her books yet will love it!
Gia is the woman behind the candidate, and she is all he has going for him; at least until his dirty little secret is discovered. Logan is the big donor of Gia's dream; if she could only meet him and pitch her candidate. When their paths finally cross chemistry ignites and tempers flare between these two powwerful figures.
Against the Odds is a perfect mix of romance, intrigue, secrets and the dark underbelly of the political world.

Awesome political romance with angst, suspense and intrigue. As always, Ms. Lee leaves us with a HFN (happily for now). Also, the author gives readers strong alpha woman and men that make the story even more entertaining. There are always unexpected surprises as you read the story. The blurb gives you a small highlight as to what readers can expect. Gia is a political powerhouse who strives to make candidates better. Logan enters the story about mid-way through. He to is a powerhouse as a former Colonial in the military and now in tech as well. We get a lot of Gia’s background and present but I’ve got a feeling in the next book we’ll learn a lot more about Logan. I received a complementary copy of this book and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by Ms. Lee especially in this series.

Gia and Logan seem like oil and water on the surface, but underneath their chemistry’s so hot it’s practically off the charts. As the start of their tale, this story’s a captivating romance of a strong-willed female and a dominant alpha male. The passion is HOT and strong, and the action is fast-paced and engaging. You will be drawn into the story from the beginning, finding it hard to put down. Although this is the start of a series, it can be read as a standalone with an HFN ending. I highly recommend you read this story! I’m definitely looking forward to the next in the series!

OMG Taylor Lee has hit this new series out of the park. Great action, suspense, and of course, romance. Wonderful beginning of this series.
Gia is beautiful, straight to the point, and a loner. Logan is arrogant and also a loner.
This awesome story is about politics and what can happen when two loners get together and explode the political arena.
Can they make it work? Will they make it together or not? You HAVE to read it and find out.
Totally awesome Ms. Lee. Keep up the great work. I can't wait to read the next one.
