Jackson Crow and his wife, Angela Hawkins, seldom leave the office for a vacation, much less at Christmas, when many of their agents are out in the field. But this year, Jackson wants to spend the holiday away, at an historic home in Virginia that he wants to buy — even if it is too far for them to commute to work each morning. Jackson is determined on getting the house, built for a relative on specs created by none other than Thomas Jefferson.
Angela knows the house; they had been there last Christmas for the wedding of Brodie and Dakota McFadden , but she is worried about leaving the D.C. area — just in case someone needs help on a case.
However, she has a special present for him this year, and after some thought, she decides this trip Jackson wants might just provide the perfect place for her to give it to him.
But over this holiday season, the house will prove to bring them far more than brick and stone...a present is awaiting them both that they'd never begun to imagine. It just might prove to be the best Christmas ever.

Angela Hawkins and Jackson Crow are spending Christmas in a home that Jackson wants to buy. They have been there before for a wedding but this visit will change the course of their lives. As they gather around the table to dine, there are Krew members, new friends, old friends and the spirit of someone long dead. A lovely story for sure!
You know your holiday season is overloaded when it takes almost a week to read such a short, sweet story as this e-book by Heather Graham. I acquired this some time ago, but successfully saved it to the current season, only to barely have time enough to sit and enjoy it.
This little addition to the Krewe of Hunters series, which portrays an elite team of FBI agents who all have the ability to interact with ghosts, follows the saga of two of the founding members of the Krewe, Jackson Crow and Angela Hawkins, as they enjoy a well-deserved Christmas holiday away from work in the country. They invite their coworkers and friends of course, as they contemplate purchasing an historic house last visited in another story, Christmas, the Krewe, and a Large White Rabbit.
Naturally there a few surprises including a very distinguished ghostly visitor, or else this novella wouldn’t fit into the series, but with no crimes to solve this is really just a sweet backstory for the cast of this series. With no murderers to apprehend, we are allowed to focus on the romance of the two principles as they embark on a new addition, or two, to their private lives.
This story is definitely better written than the last story I reviewed in the series, A Horribly Haunted Halloween, which actually comes later in the time line. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to any previous readers of the series. Unfortunately I believe without prior knowledge of the characters and situations new readers might be somewhat lost; there simply isn’t enough of this short story to thoroughly explain all the relevant points to new readers. Still, for diehard fans of the paranormal series, this definitely deserves at least 4 stars; more if there was a criminal in there somewhere.
I have come to really love these short stories, even though I have been reading them out of order. I theme read and so have read all over but am glad I finally got back to the beginning of at least one thing, how Corby came into the lives of Jackson and Angela.
Jackson Crow and Angela Hawkins are partners both at work and off, who rarely leave the office for vacation, not even usually for Christmas, especially with agents in the field. This year however Jackson wants to spend the holidays at a historic house in Virginia that he hopes to buy. Having spent time there the previous Christmas, Angela has no problem. She has something special for Jackson this year and fate has something special them both as they go away for something other than work for once.
This is a sweet, some might say sugary story about what makes Christmas truly special. It hit all the right notes with me and that is something because I do not like a lot sentiment most times but these characters pull me in every time and I always look for more with them at least in the periphery.
Jackson and Angela are mentioned in almost every book, but it is rare to see them take the main role in the more recent books, so to have a whole short story focus on them was fantastic.
They return to a previous home that starred in another novella and have a Christmas for the books. I wondered if we would ever get the presidential ghost and I am tickled over how it played out. The president was eloquent and kind, but also addressed some of the concerns people had about his words and actions relating to slavery in law versus his homes and relationships. The addition of a child and how the town members were on the holidays was precious. Adam got a huge gift and it made me happy for him❤️
Overall this is a quick and sweet read without crime and full of holiday joy and love.
If you are anything like me, you love when authors give you updated information about original characters. I know Heather Graham has added Jackson and Angela to other stories but it was wonderful for them to have one of their own. The fact that it is not a murder but just a family story and one that tells of the different kinds of love it's possible to have! Fans of the Krewe of Hunters novels will love this quick little side trip and if this is your first Krewe of Hunters story, I have a feeling you will want to go back to the beginning of this wonderful series (and good luck in catching up 😉)!!
Great Christmas story with the original Krewe of hunters and an orphan boy
Light, bright Christmas story with a sort-of mystery, albeit a very minor one featuring a runaway boy. I enjoyed seeing the original Krewe of Hunters members, including Adam Harrison and his ghostly son.
Good read to cheer COVID-19 pandemic shut-ins like me, especially when positive tests are skyrocketing again, in mid-late June 2020.
I truly enjoyed this short tale. At first, I was skeptical that there was no crime, but the appearance of the President, one of the good ones, made for a good read.Corby sound like he will be a fun and interesting addition to the Krewe in future books. Good job!!
An interesting short story of the original Krewe couple Jackson and Angela during Christmas time and an encounter with someone who's going to change their lives. There's also a guest appearance from one of America's past Presidents...which as an Aussie I don't quite understand the fascination.
Angela and Jackson go to Virginia to the house Brody got married in last Christmas. Jackson felt a pull to this place. He wants to buy it. When they get there, they meet two very unexpected guests and invite them for the holiday. And Angela has a secret.
Read and find out all the details. Really good reading. I enjoyed it a lot.
A fantastic Christmas story for the Christmas season.
I really enjoyed this truly beautiful Christmas story! It brought tears to my eyes! So happy Corby has a wonderful family to call his own. I've never been disappointed with anything Heather Graham writes. It's always spot on!!!!!!
Meeting President Thomas Jefferson was the icing on the Christmas cake! This is a very delightful story. Heather Graham writes brilliantly and with precision to keep your attention to see what will happen next. This story is very entertaining. You o not want to miss reading this book. Happy reading! 😊
I really love this Christmas story. I have read every Krewe book I could find enjoying all the characters. This was kind of special since it had a more gentle story line.
Along with a famous ghost, it shows the true meaning of love at Christmas.
I have enjoyed all of the Krewe of Hunters books, but this book is the best you have written. I want to "Thank you" for writing this book. I look forward to the next one.
A lovely short story in the Krewe Of Hunters series. Jackson and Angela go to see a house that Jackson wants to buy during the Christmas season. Surprises are in store for this couple!!
A vacation of a lifetime, complete with a great house, Jefferson's ghost, and something a little extra. The extra is a super polite orphan that Jackson and Angela are going to adopt.
A really wonderful, feel good, exciting story. Characters warm, strong, and interesting. Plot flowed well and kept to the goodness of people theme. Satisfying conclusion.
What an enjoyable Christmas read with Jackson and Angela. We meet a dpecoal ghost and awesome young man and share in the joy of family. It was a quick read of joy.
For those of us that believe in the season of family, good will, and family this is a book to get us into what the holidays are all about. A little bit of history, lots of good cheer, and an occasional ghost.
I really enjoyed this short novella about some special Christmas wishes and an extra ghost visitor! There is a warmth and genuine love in this very unique story. I wish it could have been a full length story.
Heather Graham writes like people actually talk. Her view of Jefferson makes him human. I suspected what Angela’s gift for Jackson would be and I am glad that I was correct 😊
Another amazing book by a great author. The story was good and the characters were awesome! I especially liked meeting Corby, he was a very likeable character. I would highly recommend this book.
Wonderful story of love and acceptance. It seems Christmas brings these feelings out more than any other time and having a ghost there to help clear some of those feelings is not so bad either. You ever wanted to speak to someone from the past? I have.
