Fleeing from overseers and whistlers alike, the unlikely group of dimension travelers stumble upon an ancient structure buried under eons of sand. Within, they discover old pathways that send them on an even more incredible journey. There, they discover a powerful relic which may aid them in their quest to get back home.
A fierce night runner attack forces Mike and Jack to escape, opening a portal to the whistler home world. Will they find a way to slow the whistler invasions? Or will their luck finally run out?
Starting to get boring. It is now feeling like they are padding the story to earn more money. Nothing much new seems to be happening just mix and repeat.
I have bought pretty much everything by both writers and enjoy them greatly but this storyline seems to be going nowhere. I will keep buying in hope things improve.
This one was tough to get through. I think I was burnt out from the previous book. It looks like air stopped fairly early in the story on this one. Picked it back up today and finished it. I will say I enjoyed Mike's chapters much more than Jack's. Bob was a favorite too. Spent half the book trying to figure out which book series Bob appeared in first....anyways, glad I restarted it. Micheal Talbot is a hell of a great lead character. I guess since there is only one more book in this series I'll go ahead and buy the next book.
Always love another another chapter in the saga of Mike Talbot. The crew (he, Jack, Trip and alternate-BT) continue on their blind trip through the multiverse, led by an acid-fried hippie with more to him than meets the eye. This one centers on Mike's task of trying to take out the whistlers' inverted pyramid prison/factory. It was another crazy journey, for sure; and the worst of Mike's claustrophobic experiences.
WOW! Talk about a 180. Mike and Jack are now a witty, deathdealing team of badasses with Trip and BB BT along for the ride. New and familiar faces return in a nonstop ride that at book 7 FINALLY delivers some answers. Jack grew a sense of humor between books, too! After having a rocky time of it, our heroes are ready to go on the offensive into the great unknown.

This is certainly an exciting installment to the Shrouded World series. Our group gets split up. Mike find new friends and goes on with his mission. But life is pretty hairy for all concerned. I'm so excited to start the next one.
We’re well into the overarching story of this series, now rushing toward a conclusion. WHAT that conclusion will be, I’m left clueless, but still interested! Great work, guys!
Gawd damn! That was such an amazing edition to the series!! This story is getting so good, I've thoroughly enjoyed every edition to this series and I cant wait for the next one (although I've heard the next one might be the final in the series which will be sad to see but these are so good they'll definitely be going into the reread list).
Reread review - Yup. Great book. Thoroughly enjoyed and absolutely looking forward to the conclusion of this amazing adventure of Jack, Mike & Trip!!!
You can really tell where one author starts and the other ends in my opinion. It's a well meshed story of two star characters in one book trying to save their respective worlds. I'm pretty sure I've run into our worlds versions of Mike and Jack and I would appreciate them keeping the sh*t show to a minimum. Another great book...NEXT!
