If you enjoyed the Barakamon series as much as I did, then you'll want to peruse this volume of Bonus Features. Half of the book consists of humorous black-and-white short stories, many with an absurd or fantastical bent like what if the cast had super powers or swapped bodies. The other half is a gallery of full-color illustrations.
After mistakenly thinking the series was over a couple of times, this is it, the actual, final stretch. Thank you, Yen Press, for publishing this just for me (or at least, it feels that way).
Most of the little vignettes in here were silly and inconsequential, but it was fun to revisit these characters after finishing the series a long time back. Most of this volume consists of full-color art, which is nice, but I'd have liked more writing.
The Barakamon series ended with book 18. So, this is an add on for the fans of the series who will miss it. It contains a rather out of character story when the main characters end up in a body of one of the other characters. This is followed by bunches of cool posters that were issued in Japan promoting newly released volumes at the time. Those were awesome! Although, the reader is warned that they aren't available in the US. Fun to look at in any case!
Thank you Satsuki Yoshino for this very engaging and entertaining series!
Okay. So, I have full copies of volume 1 until 18 in my shelf, well, In Indonesia Edition... It's been years after the serialization complete and Elex Media finished publishing the main plot in this book (until volume 18), BUT WHY DO THEY DIDN'T PUBLISH THIS SPECIAL VOLUME YET????
I want the physical copy, to complete my Indonesia Edition of Barakamon... Guess, I am gonna buy the one from Viz media...
Oh, I almost forget to mention how good this volume is. I am really glad able to see the wholesome scenes in Barakamon once more... REALLY LOVE IT
