Irrepairable

Rate this book
Some damage cannot be fixed.

Love. Faith. Honor. Trust. Devotion. These sound like tenets to live by, but at Pinnacle University, they are the kings who rule all.

Five men. Five of the wealthiest successors known to man. Five cruel minds who see the world as their plaything. And me? I made the mistake of telling them no.

No, I wouldn’t be theirs.
No, I didn’t care about money.
No, they’d never break me.

So I’ve been enrolled in their school, in their kingdom, and I’m their pet. Meant to be used. Meant to be controlled. Meant to be damaged.

I won’t be destroyed. Not by them, not by anyone. And by the end of this, we’ll all be left irrepairable.

Note from the authors: This is a dark reverse harem college bully romance. This is not your typical academy romance. No school walls can contain this darkness. Welcome to the Pinnacle Group Estate. If you're looking for the light, turn away now.

LeTeisha Newton

Writing professionally since 2008, LeTeisha Newton’s love of romance novels began long before it should have. After spending years sneaking reads from her grandmother’s stash, she finally decided to pen her own tales. As many will do during their youth, she bounced from fantasy, urban literature, mainstream, interracial, paranormal, heterosexual, and LGBT works until she finally rested in contemporary romance.

LeTeisha is all about deep angst and angry heroes who take a bit more loving to smooth their rough edges. Love comes in many sizes, shapes, and colors, as well as with—or without—absolute beauty and fairy tale sweetness. She writes the darker tales because life is hard … but love is harder.

Well, I shouldn't have expected much from a book WITH A SPELLING MISTAKE IN THE BLEEDING TITLE.

The heroes all had one personality, the dialogue (and premise, for that matter) was horribly and painfully unrealistic, and the names of the heroes are things like Faith, Love, Honour and Devotion. It made it impossible to tell them apart. As soon as the heroine started using these fake names I immediately forgot what any of the heroes even looked like. I suspect the authors did the same, since one hero was referred to by the wrong name already within just the few chapters I read. No emotions came through in the writing either.

I'm disappointed because the heroine was half-Nepalese and I would have LOVED that - that's why it gets one star. Plus I'm a sucker for bully reverse harem. But alas, this book and I are not to be.

Update - I was in one of the author's groups. Not only have I been kicked out but I've been blocked from it (I had to use my daughters account to check if the Vixen's group still existed!) I can only assume it's because of this review! I did have a book of theirs on pre-order, guess I'll be cancelling that then.

These are two of my favourite dark authors, and their talent shows in the incredible writing found in this book. The feeling of frustration, anger, hate, and oppression made this a gripping tale. The story was disturbing at times, in that way all good dark romances are, with the mental abuse Rani suffered excellently portrayed. The tension never let up, this book quickly takes you to the edge and holds you there, with only the teeniest, briefest of respites to allow you to draw breath.

This is the first bully romance I have read, and I quickly came to the conclusion that the genre isn't for me. I struggled to connect with the male MC's - the use of pseudonyms didn't help me here either! It got very confusing trying to remember who was who, and involved lots of flicking backwards and forwards in an attempt to work it out.

Personally I couldn't buy into the idea that a girl would be attracted to any guy who was constantly nasty to her for no real reason, never mind five men. By the time the authors attempted to redeem them, I'd already switched off and disconnected from them.

Based on quality of story and writing this is a good book, losing a star due to my struggle with differentiating between some of the guys for a chunk of the story and another star for having a 'secret' that was kept throughout the whole story. This seems to be a theme in many NA books - lets base the whole book around a secret and make that the entire plot. *shrugs*. Not my bag.

For those who enjoy bully romances, then you might enjoy this.

This book was as confusing as hell. Giving the men nicknames Love, Trust, Honor, Devotion, Faith took these characters away from who they were. I had to keep flicking back to remember who was who. It didn’t help when I think even the authors were getting confused. The plot was fast paced and maybe could have done with having the characters more fleshed out to help character connection. The mystery type plot running throughout was half-baked and the instalove was unbelievable considering what she was put through.

These Pinnacle Heirs, Love, Faith, Honor, Trust and Devotion are the epitome of the elite.
Every man wants to be them, and every woman wants to be with them. They are the wealthy Alpha's of this group and they have deviant plans for Rani.
I love the writing of both authors, LeTeisha Newton and Ginger Talbot, and this reverse harem dark read is a big recommendation from me!
6 twisted stars!

“The poor are eaten by the rich, Rani.” Not if I devour them first.

I've seen this cover a lot in the recent months....I've obsessed over this cover. In fact, it may even be one of my favorite covers ever. So it shocked me when I realized I had yet to read it & immediately signed up to add to add it to my list. I wasn't familiar with these authors work and I'm not a huge fan of reverse harem, so I didn't hold this to my usual unrealistic expectations. I just can't find complete satisfaction with the heroine rides off into the sunset in a HEA love with all the men.....its too unrealistic to me. What I wasn't prepared for is just how obsessed I would become with this story & these characters and how absolutely satisfied I was when I read the last sentence of their story. The plot is intricately woven to create a story that had me guessing until the very end. The characters brought out the very best & worst emotions in me.  And overall, I was left bowing down to the queen & wanting more.

“I have to win.” Devotion’s dark gaze met mine, and ice slithered through my veins. “You can’t hope to win a game rigged against you.”

Book Facts: Told from our heroine's POV, this dark reverse harem romance is a standalone with a HEA. One beautiful girl trying to make ends meet while battling her mom's cancer.  The five filthy rich & devestating gorgeous heirs that make up the Pinnacle Group. One offer, one contract, one chance to change her life. There is no choice, she just has to survive. But how can you win a battle you were never supposed to win in the first place? But Rani isn't your ordinary girl & she fully intends to bring these guys to their knees.....she just has to make sure they don't claim her heart in the process. PLEASE NOTE: Includes dark elements such as bullying, spanking, rough sexual situations, &  violence.

“This is all a lie, Rani. Don’t believe such carefully crafted tales. It kills us all in the end.”

Timeline of Thoughts:
Starting: I have been in love w this cover since the moment I saw it -- so excited to dive in!
14%: I can already tell this is going to be confusing.....But its also going to be really interesting. Side Note: I LOVE Allison.
18%: I get where this is going....its not so much bullying as preparing her for the huge role she will play.
29%: I really love Devotion, and see a certain "something" with all of them except Love.
31%: Oh she feels threatened....I'm telling you Rani is going to end up with a huge role/place at the end of this, I can FEEL it.
34%: Honor is so effin hot. Not sure if any of them can top him.
42%: She does the dumbest things....I seriously don't get it.
48%: That was hot & I LOVE LOVE LOVE Devotion.
59%: WTF is wrong with him?
75%: This can't be really happening. She's an effin idiot, but this is too much.
77%: I'm sorry, but her "reason" makes NO SENSE. Like a scapegoat. Side Note: Honor is my fav now, but Devotion is right there.
90%: Too easy......for such an amazing story, this part is too easy.
98%: Well I hope they are blessed with more otherwise the system won't quite work anymore.
Finished: Okay, this is a HEA I can get behind...But I wouldn't mind another book of them.

"The Five":
Loves from Book: the cover, Allie/Allison, Honor's class interruption, "Yes, Love" car scene, their rooms.
Hates from Book: Regina, Jasmine, Lacey, the "sentence",  Love's actions (in a lot of this book).
Quotes:
“If I touch you, Rani, I’ll break you into little pieces. Such small, tiny pieces you’ll blow away. And even then, you’ll still belong to me.”
-Love

“Make me come, and I’ll give you want you want, sweetheart.” I traced my tongue over my top lip and then stuck it out for him. Come, right here. “Shit.”
-Honor (& Rani)

“Say. It.” Devotion pulled from my mouth. “Make it hurt,” I wailed.
-Trust & Rani

“You’re going to fail, Rani.” I forced myself to speak, to ask the question deep inside me. “Why, Love?” He looked over his shoulder at me. “Because you aren’t her, and you never will be.”
-Love & Rani

“I believe in you, Faith.” “And I’d given up on believing in anything until you.”
-Rani & Faith

Final Thoughts:

1. Fav Thing about story: How nothing is really how it seems, and its a lot more than she thinks.
2.
Most disliked: Judge me all you want but if I'm going to read a reverse harem (where all the men are with the woman), I want to at least one scene with them all participating. I also felt like there wasn't nearly enough sexual scenes.... don't get me wrong, there are a few & they are PERFECTION, but I wanted to know how each of them were (if that makes sense).
3. How I felt about heroine: At first, I admired & loved her fiery spirit. It's what caught Love's attention for sure & put her in the position she is in.  However, as the story went along it kinda got annoying and I just wanted her to be a little smarter with the battles she chose. She does some truly stupid things, but I did end up being happy with where she was in the end.
4. How I felt about the "heirs": Let me start by saying, none are exactly what they portray..... their "names" are very important (it will make sense in the end).
Rating them from fav to least: Honor, Devotion, Trust, Faith, & Love.
Devotion got my love first, but Honor snagged that top spot easily in one pivotal moment. Love is the hardest to come around to, but I did end up loving him too.
5. Writing style: I loved how intricate the entire premise of their "arrangement/contract" was and how everything played out at a perfect pace. Sure, I wanted more smut but what I did get was delicious. There were a few things that didn't make sense or were way too easy, but overall it was a well-written & organized plot.

“None of you are going to let me go, are you?” Honor’s gaze answered my question first, and I left the bathroom, letting his words trail behind me. “No, Rani. And by the end, you won’t want us to.”

Overall, even a day later I am STILL thinking about the 5 hot heirs & their girl. Sure I was ragey, annoyed, & I wanted to scream more than once....but I also was equally completely entranced from the very first page on. This one achieved what very few do.... made such an impact I am still reeling & obsessing over their story, yet absolutely craving more & more.  I don't think I could ever get enough of this "world".... but I invite the authors to try to prove me wrong, I know I would enjoy every single moment.

"They had claimed me, destroyed me, and built me back up in ways I hadn’t dreamed of. I could never love anyone as much as them."

When you take two powerhouse writers of dark romance get together what you get is this: a brilliant, beautiful, seductive, heartbreaking and elegant story, that breaks not only the characters but the reader as well.

This story is so more then a dark reverse, harem bully read. It is one of pain and violence, anguish and longing. There is a heaviness of heartache throughout this story, but is not the way you imagine it, expect it or have seen before. It's real and gut renching, and palpable.

Five broken, rich, strong men all looking for a playmate, a puppet; someone to mold, to bend, to break. Like a sadistic and cruel puppet master, these men will try their hardest to see that she fails; but do they really want her to? Is she strong enough to survive? And at what cost?...

“This is all a lie, Rani. Don't believe such carefully crafted tales. It kills us all in the end.”

This isn't a light read, it's dark and slightly violent, aggressive and savage; but the reader gets small glimpses of the light in this world, with these men, and is pulled right along through the darkness to the most beautiful ending one could imagine.

I have never wanted a book to actually end in a cliffhanger before, but this story… yeah I would give my right arm for it to continue, for this NOT to be the end. I cannot express just how amazing this book is, how truly talented both of these authors are.

**With Love for you both, I Trust your guidance into this world (and will follow you anywhere), I have Faith the pain will all be worth it in the end. I am Devoted to you both forever. It was my Honor to read and review this book for you.**

Dark, depraved and sinfully delicious. Hold on to your panties, or keep an extra pair handy because you are going to need them! I didn’t really know what I was getting into. It’s a LeTeisha Newton book, that alone makes it a must read!!, but I was not expecting the plot twists and OMG moments to be this extreme. Really hope more of this wickedness comes out, and SOON!

All forms of abuse are prevalent in a story that’s based on scandal and extortion.
If you like RH, and want a book that will wreck you but also put you back together and just somehow make ALL THE SENSE by the time it ends … well, this is the book for you.

If you're not a fan of bully romance, this still might be the book for you ... but proceed with caution.

This read was unlike anything else I’ve ever read, and that’s so hard to find these days so I’m super impressed.
I was hooked early on and it became like a drug; putting it down was so hard!

Cover: Not only beautiful and professional but completely fitting. So well done.
Formatting: Professional, neat.
Editing/Proofing: Professional, book is clean in this regard.

Long-time HUGE fan of LeTeisha Newton, but new to Ginger Talbot. Will seek out more of hers.

*SPOILER ALERT*
I never do this but I feel it might be necessary to mention a few things that could be considered spoilers in order to try to articulate my feelings on this book.

So here’s the thing: it’s bully romance. It’s not for everyone. The guys completely treat Rani like dirt, note what I already said about all forms of abuse being present here. I absolutely loathed them and there is at least one I never came around to, still having read the book in completion twice now.. And I loathed Rani at times, for even being open to loving them, let alone forgiving them. *Therefore, can we take a moment to appreciate the authors and the talent that was at work here in order to elicit such feelings from me?*

Further, I feel it’s necessary to add that there was an instant where it all just clicked. I can’t put my finger on it and I don’t want to say too much in the way of spoilers but … the writing is incredible. And ultimately, even though I personally do not love all of the men involved, I sort of get why Rani might.

*I did predict every twist so it’s not a full 5 stars for me.
But 4.5 at least. Amazing, addictive read.

Let me start by saying that I have never read anything by either of these authors and was strictly drawn to this book via its Blurb. That being said, I very much enjoyed this book, however, will probably not be seeking out more books from these authors. This was exactly the type of dark romance with a HEA that I love, with a female lead who was strong and feisty and men who were fierce and hard. The problems that I had were some of the "rules" that the guys had in place were hard to follow and were never properly explained. Also, it seemed like Rani went from completely hating them to loving them in a snap of the finger with no real build up to that love. I prefer when the guys do something to redeem themselves or show some sort of character turn around before the girl falls for them. In the case of this story, it was almost like she was brainwashed, not in-love.

LeTeisha Newton is the QUEEN of dark reads!!
When a story grabs you from the very beginning, you KNOW you are in for the ride of a lifetime!
I don't even know where to begin with Irrepairable, When I started reading this book I wasn't entirely certain what I was in store for, but I will tell you that I was TOTALLY blown away with the emotions that were torn my soul while reading this story and it usually takes A LOT for me to get involved in a story that completely. These 6 characters have ALL been deeply damaged from their past and upbringing, I'm not too sure that when the ball got rolling even THEY didn't expect things to end up so Irrepairable.. Or did it???
Dive into this one of a kind story that will have you going out of your mind!!

This book was awful. I barely finished it. It was really hard to get into. There were to many holes and things didn't make sense or add up. The way they treated her was disgusting and the fact she just forgave them like it was nothing was pathetic. She let them walk all over her and then fall insta in love with no apology or anything. I didn't like how the author gave them nicknames and then at the end went back to their real names and it was confusing who was who. Also the ending was super rushed and left way to many questions. This book was way to abusive for my liking. Oh! And let's not forget when the "heroes" let those men beat the fuck out of her and she just forgave them. I wanted to punch the stupid bitch in face! Save yourself the time and don't bother with this book.

Gut-wrenchingly Twisted!

WOW! This book is dark, twisted, heartbreaking, frustrating and emotionally gut-wrenching. It was also utterly fantastic!! Right from the start this story dug its claws into me and ripped me to shreds. My emotions were thrown all over the place. It ripped my heart out, stomped on it and shoved it back in. I have never felt such hatred and love for characters in a book as I did with this story. Be prepared to go on one hell of an emotional roller coaster ride and buckle up cause its going to get real bumpy!

The writing was fantastic and the characters are amazing. If you love dark enemies to lovers, you will love this book. I absolutely did!!!

The ending was all nice.

Let's get down to the review

I was really excited bout reading this book but all the joy run out at the beginning. The men were too extreme and mean. Like Love went out of his way to make Rani suffer. They'd hit her and fight with her like wtf. And the ending when all of a sudden we find out that Love was actually in love with Rani ummm seriously; we get that some people don't know how to express their emotions but; punishing her, keeping her captive and humiliating her. That's some twisted way to show your love smh.

Overall, Ive never read a dark romance this twisted. Some people might enjoy it but I didn't. It is never ok to hit a woman.

Ohhh my...!

Absolutely incredible! One of the most unique ,intriguing ,emotional storylines of this subgenre that I have encountered. I really appreciate everything about this tale from makeshift ,close knit familial unit to the strong, mildly flawed, slightly damaged heroine and of the five fractured but beautiful ,sex on a stick souls that must twist her to fit in their world ...and of course the villians. I actually believe I am going back for seconds....a reread now ! Thank you ladies!

I thought I knew what I was going into when I dived in.
And I did, in a sense.
But in the rest? I had zero clue, as it turns out.
This wasn’t a book. This was a mind bending, consuming journey of Rani and these men.
They came to bend her, to break her, and to mold her.
And I enjoyed every last drop.

What would you do to protect your family?
This was definitely a page turner! When i started reading it i couldn't put it down. I was up into the wee hours of the morning reading Irrepairable.
The twists and turns, the danger, the sex! What a great book! It is a darker romance with tons of action.

All the books that I have read in this genre, so far, have been part of a series with 3 or more books. So when I saw a stand alone RH I thought, "SCORE, it won't take me days and days to get to the good stuff". Boy was I wrong!

This book had all the makings of a good RH story that I have come to expect from the genre, except everything felt hurried, not explained enough and mostly just plain unbelievable. The journey of the MC and her harem, from meeting to falling in love is not convincing. It felt like, because they were expected to end up together, the how was not important and was not explored enough for each individual relationship with the guys. Even the villian/s' story was hurried, not enough context provided about the situation in/of Pinnacle Group and the rival family. Are we to believe that all the other related parties, parents, sisters, uncles aunts etc, are okay with just letting a strange girl come in and take over the company? It doesn’t even sound plausible. Fiction or not, the whole thing was just too hurried and too convinient to be anything but unconvincing, improbable and most definetely undermining the reader's intelligence. And what’s with the name?

May be, just maybe, an RH story cannot be properly told in a standalone book of less that 300 pages. It would make sense because for the story to make sense, there are so many sides to cover, even if the story is told from a single POV. I am going to look for another standalone RH to see if my hypothesis holds true or a different author will be able to achieve what LeTeisha could not.

Update- My theory was wrong, standalone RH can be done, April's Fools is a very good example.

DNF at 64%.

I wish there was a grade to the levels of darkness when it comes to books. I have read a lot of dark stuff - abduction, caging, spanking, even maybe a slap... but then there is very dark, like this book. Where they try to kill her by having her punched and kicked to death (AND this act causes her to realize she loves them *W-T-F*).

However, despite this darkness, my rating is not due to that. My rating is because the names ruin this book. It is so hard with the names to understand which is which and then you don't feel anything for the men because you can't connect. The only one that stood out (was the one that honestly, I wish she would have just stabbed in the throat) was Love.

(Really, someone please make me a vengeance book where the MC finally snaps and kills those guys and their family because THAT I would love to read).

EDIT: Ok, I added one more star because I read to the end and then you kinda understand them a tiny bit more. Though, This reaffirms my thoughts that if their original names had been kept and some emotion been able to be tied to their characters, it would have been better.

I was really excited to read this book. The match up of these authors - I really expected so dark and twisted reading ahead of me. Sadly, it just wasn't up to par especially for what these authors do separately. The MC was back and forth. She would state that she would do anything for her mother and friend, but then complain and fight with the men. They wouldn't even do anything bad to her - they made her go to school and wear better clothes and took care of her mother. It was kinda ridiculous what this girl was whining about. It was hardly dark and twisted, though it tried. I found the whole POV rather frustrating by the end, I was that let down by it. It's an okay story, but I'll stand by my feelings that this story could have been better

This well-written story begins with evil—girls working to barely eke out a living, a mother with cancer, rich men who can buy anything at all, even the girl who said, “NO”.

This truly is a deeply, dark, tense story filled with despair, surrender, obedience, indifference, tension, humiliation, embarrassment, and pain. A beautiful, young serving girl is forced by circumstances into surrendering her mind, body and soul to five extremely wealthy, powerful young men who need her to play their “game.” Can she do it? Will she fail and lose all?

Reading about the vicious strife, pain and demands experienced by ALL the persons involved, kept me reading all night long. This story and these characters gripped my emotions from page one and I never wanted it to end!

It wasn't bad per se but I think it was way too short. I needed more to be convinced of her love as now it was totally too soon after what was done to her.

Also the whole backstory was too weak. There was no normal explanation why and how she was chosen as the queen or what were the villains' motives.

Guys were very similar and only after her grand stand I could see the slight differences in personalities. Why were different names needed? I got what they represented but were they meant as a clue or what?

I am getting tired of this trope 'secret organisation led by rich and powerful' so it may have impacted my view a bit but this book could definitely have been planned and executed better.

*3.5*

I tried so hard to want to really love this... :-/

Like others, all the nicknames got to be maddening to try to remember who was who. That put me off for sure. Then, it was the whole wrap-up that left me like, 'really?' Maybe, it was because I literally had just read basically the same story line (different outcome - plus that one was a cliff hanger - Ugh).

Now, her book, Vanquished, I loved! However, please note, that it is not a book for the dark story newbies or faint of heart. ;-)

Excellent reverse harem dark romance!!!

This story is dark, the male lead characters are bullies and the female lead character gets messed with beyond belief, but I loved every single second of it. This story has it all; it's heart wrenching, suspenseful, steamy, exciting and even a bit scary at times. I must say this is one of the best reverse harem dark romances I've read so far this year and I highly recommend it!!!

I can’t remember the last time I read a book that gutted me so much! I was a blubbering mess through more than half of this! LeTeisha is a fucking word genius. The way she made me feel with simply words on a paper is a true gift not even author can achieve! I hands down LOVED this story! It makes my top 10 for the year hands down!

Needed more

All this secrecy and training and threats only to explain them later in such an off-handed way. Like, the names of the men. It’s this huge mystery throughout the book, and then you learn it in a paragraph in the epilogue. And not enough sexytimez. Reverse harem and only 4 or 5 scenes? Yes it was a good book, but I was just disappointed.

I understood the meaning of the nicknames but honestly I didn’t need them. It only confused me when I ended up reading their real names. Also- how could she forgive them after all of that?! Just so they could mold her to be a queen?! I got confused that after the beating she got, the guys just suddenly stopped being mean. They weren’t redeemable to me at all.
