Although the Avalanche Killer has been caught, Remy Colton fears the criminal’s shadow still looms over Roaring Springs. And falling for his brother’s ex, Vanessa Fisher, definitely doesn’t help matters. But when someone begins to target Vanessa, Remy vows to protect her at all costs! Even if that means nailing down a ruthless threat—once and for all.
Karen Whiddon spun fanciful tales for her younger brothers as early as the age of eleven. Growing up in the Catskill Mountains of New York, then the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, she found enough magic in the rugged peaks to keep her imagination fueled for years.
Now making her home in North Texas, she shares her life with her hero-like husband and three doting dogs. She writes paranormal tales for Harlequin Nocturne including the popular Pack series and romantic suspense stories for Harlequin Romantic Suspense.
She's also written Fae novels for Lovespell and a long time ago, she wrote five Precious Gem Romances for Kensington publishing. These she now owns again and has put them up for sale on Amazon.com among other places
I thought this book really held up with the other books in this series. Plus, it gave us closure on Sabrina's death and a plausible explanation for what happened.
Although a good read, I felt like it lost a lot of the tension and suspense we normally see in an Intrigue book. I think this would have worked better in Harlequin's Desire line where those dynamics are not as important.
This book did the Harlequin formula justice but I personally sensed a lack of that usual Intrigue spark.
A good read, but I wanted more. The climax of the suspense storyline ended too quickly for me. I guess it is indeed all about the mystery for me. Definitely going to continue in the Colton universe, though.
Another in the Coltons of Roaring Springs series. This time, it's Remy Colton who encounters his ne'er do well brother's former fiancee, Vanessa Fisher, when she arrives to gain closure on why she broke off her engagement with Seth. When there is no room at any inn in the ski-crazy town, Remy sets her up in the family suite until that doesn't work out and she ends up staying at his place while a blizzard closes down roads and planes that might take her back to Boulder.
In the course of her time in Roaring Springs, Seth goes off his rocker--in more ways than one--and his behavior reveals what he's really been up to for years. That doesn't stop Remy from falling for Vanessa or she for him, but will either of them be safe if Seth isn't put into prison?
