An Agent for Jocelyn

Rate this book
Jocelyn King wants justice, but no one will listen. Turning to the Pinkerton Agency for help, she has one condition— she must be part of the team that investigates the diamond hoax her father has uncovered. But there’s more to her story than she reveals to Archie Gordon.

Agent Owen Latimer came to be a Pinkerton Operative through some… unorthodox skills that he’d rather not everyone knew about. But having been an accomplished expert in his field, he knows when someone is hiding lies among the truths. And Miss Jocelyn is doing just that. Intrigued by her story and intense desire for justice, Owen agrees to take her on as his partner even though office rules dictate he has to marry her for the duration of the investigation.

Will this hoax turnout to be more than he can bear? Can these two overcome their distrust in one another and solve this case? If opposites attract, will love thrive among their differences? Is Owen the right agent for Jocelyn?

Agent Owen Latimer is the one man Archie will trust to get this case completed. He is a reformed swindler! Jocelyn cannot abide swindlers, so her distrust in Owen is immediately heightened. How can she trust him to help solve a case involving swindling? Archie insists this gives him extra insight on the case... Then he drops the marriage bomb!

I received an ARC of this book and am choosing to leave an honest review.

Each book in this series can be read as a stand-alone story so don’t worry if you haven’t read any other Pinkerton books.
I loved this story because these characters talked. They shared their feelings and worked to overcome their obstacles. I enjoyed their banter and even though there wasn’t a lot of romancing going on, the relationship was great.
The mystery is woven throughout the book and the result is quite surprising. I highly recommend this story to fans of mystery, romance or just fans of a good book.

A diamond field!

I love that Jocelyn worked with her dad and has such an interest and deep knowledge about mapping the area and the gems found. It is sad that she is not given the same respect as her father and has to go to the Pinkertons for help, but it was meant to be as it lead her to Owen.
Whilst Jocelyn and Owen are not my favourite characters from this series, this is still a sweet book and a good addition to the series, I read this on Kindle Unlimited.

Jocelyn's Father has been murdered and she needs the Pinkerton's help finding his killer. She's been helping her Father with his Geology work but no one takes her seriously. Determined to help out with the case, she agrees to marry the agent and join the Pinkertons herself.
Owen is a reformed swindler turned detective. His expertise will come in handy. But will Jocelyn be able to trust him? Can they figure out her Father's murder and the gem scam?
This is a clean, sweet romance. I don't always love this author's books but I did enjoy this one. It was good and interesting and a bit different.
