Zagan is feared by the masses as an evil sorcerer. Both socially awkward and foulmouthed, he spends his days studying sorcery while beating down any trespassers within his domain. One day he's invited to a dark auction, and what he finds there is an elven slave girl of peerless beauty, Nephy. Having fallen in love at first sight, Zagan uses up his entire fortune to purchase her, but being a poor conversationalist, he has no idea how to properly interact with her. Thus, the awkward cohabitation of a sorcerer who has no idea how to convey his love and his slave who yearns for her master but has no idea how to appeal to him begins.
Demon lord buys an elf because he fell in love at first sight, their relationship slowly progresses, other people are being drawn by his awkward goodness and there is lost of quite stupid fights and every few chapters there is some kind of enemy that is drawn to demon lord's side. Plot is quite stupid, elf girl is good but without any character, romance is cute, but there is not much to appreciate as an actual story.
Turns out there’s a novel and a manga! I read this version, which is the manga, and was positively surprised. The story contains light humour and does a fairly good job at world building. Magic, elves, and a plot to overthrow the best sorcerer—what’s not to like? The author gets bonus points for dealing with the slavery aspect in a light way, unlike other mangas of the same genre.
This manga is just great. It is a fantasy manga with lots of action sequences and cool magical fights. When thing aren't getting wrecked, it slows down for a surprising cute/wholesome romance between the MC and his Elf partner. It is just fantastic.
