THE STORY
As they travel from distant Salvation's Reach back to the front lines of the Sabbat Worlds Crusade, Gaunt's Ghosts make a stop to resupply. On the forest moon of Aigor 991, an Imperial Navy cache awaits them. But that's not all that's waiting for them. As Gol Kolea leads a force to get the supplies, he discovers a creature – or something – on Aigor 991 that knows who they are, what's behind them… and most worryingly, what awaits them.

Lo que nos cuenta. El relato Fantasmas y sombras malas (publicación original: Ghosts and Bad Shadows, 2014) nos lleva al pequeño y deshabitado mundo Aigor 991, donde soldados del Primer Regimiento de Tanith tratan de localizar y usar un depósito remoto de suministros tanto para ellos como para la propia nave que los transporta. Trabajo perteneciente a la serie Los fantasmas de Gaunt que transcurre tres semanas después de los acontecimientos narrados en Salvation’s Reach.

I found this to be quite a creepy, horror tinged story, certainly keeping you on tenterhooks and needing to turn the next page. Good, tense scenes in here, and some more foreshadowing interlaced as well, to deepen some mysteries.
