I knew the risks of this job when I signed on with Jameson Force Security. Knew my time as a marine would prepare me for the danger I would face. But no amount of training could have ever prepared me for the helplessness of watching my teammates die, the agonizing mental and physical pain of torture, or the despair of captivity.

Returning home to Pittsburgh following a mission gone wrong, I am riddled with guilt and haunted by nightmares. I spend my days trying to regain the parts of myself I lost in that desert, the pieces that made me the Malik Fournier I once was. While the physical effects of my torture are fading, the emotional ones are proving much more stubborn and I find solace from the last person I should ever seek such comfort.

Anna Tate lost even more than I did in that mission. Now a widow and a single mom to the daughter she gave birth to shortly after her husband’s death, Anna offers me comfort I don’t deserve. As my feelings for Anna grow, I worry that once she learns the truth about what happened, she’ll turn her back on me.

I pull her to me just as tightly as I push her away. Hoping this forbidden love will save me from the ghost I’ve become.

Code Name: Ghost is the fifth book in the Jameson Force Security Series. This series features a security company of men and women who fight to protect and serve innocent people all over the world. Malik and Anna are both employees of Jameson Security. Malik is a former soldier who finds himself in need of rescue. After being captured oversees (following a deadly firefight), he is tortured by his captors and returns home slightly damaged! Anna lost her husband in that same battle. Now a single mother with an infant, she will do whatever it takes to make everything right in the world for her daughter Avery. When Malik is rescued and brought home, he needs a great deal of therapy to work through the trauma he has experienced. Although, Malik is hesitant to get close to Anna due to the "bro code" he cannot help his attraction to her and just wants to get as close as he can to her. Anna is instantly attracted to Malik and although she is scared, it becomes evident that the bond they share is unbreakable and worth the fight to keep forever!

"We have to be the only people in the world attracted to each other who need to have a serious talk before we do anything about it."
Told in multiple POV, Code Name: Ghost is a beautiful blend of passion, romance, loyalty, and strength. Sawyer Bennett is a gifted author who never fails to create complex characters with a great deal of heart. I adore the comradery between the men and women in the Jameson Force Team and anyone who enjoys a military romance will enjoy diving in!
"I don't want you to give up the things that make you happy."
Overall, Code Name: Ghost will appeal to readers who enjoy a sweet read with depth and a double dose of passion. Ms. Bennett's characters are real and leave an impression on your heart. Malik and Anna are definitely one of my favorite Jameson Couples and I look forward to getting updates on their HEA as the series continues. Malik and Anna had to overcome a great deal of loss to find peace in each other and although the journey was difficult, it was well worth it!

Malik and Anna.

We met them both before. Or rather, we've been hearing about Malik's last mission in the last books. The mission went south and two Jameson people died. Malik was captured.

Now he's finally back home - after five months of captivity.

And Anna. She's the widow of one of the two guys who didn't make it back home. And she's also a new mom - to four months old Avery.

Both Anna and Malik have been through a lot. Too much to try for a happy end again so soon after everything?

LET'S FIND OUT!

Great 5th book!

We finally know that Malik survived and now he's ready for his happily ever after.

With Anna and baby Avery.

But he feels so guilty for whatever happened in Syria. And Anna is not yet ready for something new, right?

Adorable! And heartbreaking!

I loved reading their story.

This could be a really great TV Show!

Great romantic suspense! Can't wait to read the next book in this series!

Also - Ghost is my favorite of all the Jameson covers. ☺

CODE NAME: GHOST was an adorable & heartbreaking 5th book in this romantic suspense series! Run to your nearest amazon for your own Malik - this one is mine!

I'm not going to lie, I was a little nervous about this book because of the whole teammates-widow thing but I was also super excited to get Malik's story. So I dove right into this one with high expectations and I was definitely not disappointed. This book had all the feels and it captivated me from the very start. Anna and Malik were so good together and they worked so hard to actually make their relationship work which made me love them even more.

Their connection was so evident but for obvious reasons they were hesitant to start anything and I actually really liked that they had a lot of discussions about what they were doing before anything went too far. Bottom line, this was a brilliant story and one I definitely recommend reading.

Sawyer Bennet returns to her Jameson Force Security series with Code Name: Ghost, the long awaited story about Malik Fourier and his return home.

As a former marine, Malik was no stranger to the hazards of combat. He knew the dangers of working for a security firm that took on mission ranging from innocuous to high risk. But recovering from the physical and emotional anguish of seeing colleagues being killed and subsequently being tortured and held prisoner himself is not something a man can easily overcome.

Malik was not the only one who suffered because of that mission gone wrong. Anna Tate was made a widow and became a single mother soon after. Because of their shared loss, Malik and Anna form a unique bond that helped them both conquer the ghosts that plagued them.

Sawyer Bennett writes with genuine emotion that leaps off the pages, her Jameson Force family bursting with camaraderie, love and support.

I loved both Malik and Anna, they’re well developed and complex characters. Anna is such a strong and independent woman who has worked hard to overcome her loss. After months in captivity, Malik is ready to put in the hard work to get back what he lost, not just physically but emotionally. Both their situations were heartbreaking.
“I have my moment. That one time each day I succumb to grief, pity and tears.” ~ Anna, ch. 2

Malik and Anna have intense chemistry, but they’re more of a slow burn, enjoying in each other’s company, care and subsequently their bodies. A great part of their story is about communication and trust, Bennett understands its vulnerability and writes poignantly about it.
“Eventually, it gets brighter. Little by little, you’ll break away from that. I know you can do it if I did. You’re far stronger than I ever was.”
“You’re pretty damn strong,”
Malik murmurs with an acknowledgment of respect in his tone.
I’ll help you along the way,” I promise, and I’m heartened when he nods in acceptance.
~ Malik and Anna Ch. 8

I love reading Bennett’s books because they’re a surefire way to feel good.

Code Name: Ghost is book #5 of the Jameson Force Security series by author Sawyer Bennett. It is a standalone contemporary romance, told from both points of view with a happy ending. Sub-Genre: romantic suspense.

Code Name: Ghost was the fifth book in Sawyer Bennett’s Jameson Force Security series. I’ve been anticipating this book for some time and as expected, I wasn’t disappointed. And although It could be read as a stand-alone, to fully understand and appreciate Malik, I recommend reading the series in order.

Malik Fornier was a new member of the Jameson Force security team. We met him previously through references from his siblings in the Cold Fury Hockey series (Max, Lucas and Sierra, books six, seven and nine) and then again briefly in Code Name: Genesis (book one) when he joined the firm. As a former Marine in Special Forces, he was an asset for covert operations.

Anna Tate was a new mother and recent widow to Malik’s former teammate. She worked at Jameson Security as an Assistant to the Owner to aid in finding her new normal.

The storyline picked up while Malik was in captivity - which we knew from previous books as a mission gone wrong, with two team members dead and one MIA. Thankfully Bennett spared us torture details except through his current physical description and capabilities. Overall, the storyline was a tough journey of healing, both mentally and physically, and learning to not only live anew, but to totally accept the situation and learn to thrive without a negative impact from recent events.

I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline, characters, the Jameson comradery and the Fornier family bonds. And although it was a tough subject, it wasn’t a tough read. Well done Bennett! Now off to the fun and playful, Cage Murdock in Code Name: Rook and I can’t wait!

Malik and Anna take us on an emotional journey through loss, survival, hope, and ultimately love. This was a wonderful addition to the series.

This has been a story I have been both anticipating and at the same time not sure if I actually wanted to read it and I'll tell you why, I was afraid of how much detail we would be given about his capture. Would we have to bear witness to the horrors he suffered or would we be spared?

Overall 4 stars
Performance 4.5 stars
Story 4 stars

Re-reading Code Name: Ghost via audiobook was much more emotional for me thanks to the amazing performances of Aaron Shedlock and Virginia Rose. The duo were wonderful as Malik and Anna and I felt that they really fit their roles well. Aaron Shedlock was especially incredible at capturing all the fear and vulnerability of Malik.

*****
This was such an emotional addition to the series! I've been eagerly awaiting Malik's story and it did not disappoint. Fans of the series should note that there isn't a suspenseful plot in Code Name: Ghost. Instead, the focus is purely on Malik and Anna and their struggles to reconcile their feelings and guilt, as well as move forward in a healthy way.

Both Malik and Anna have their own demons to conquer and I appreciated that Sawyer Bennett addressed both the physical and mental tolls that they faced. Anna and Malik recognize that what they share is unique and special, but they understandably have reservations about that incredible connection. I loved that there wasn't any unnecessary drama or angst in this one and that they spoke about things maturely and honestly. They relied on their friends and family to help them through, but also on themselves. I admired Anna and thought she was a wonderful heroine. She was intelligent, driven, and understood when Malik needed her to push and when to pull back. They had amazing chemistry and all the build up between them was so delicious. I also loved the cameos from the Fournier siblings. It was great catching up with everyone and also seeing how close knit they all are. They were such an integral part of Malik's healing. I'm excited for Cage's story next, especially since he's gotten himself into quite the predicament!

Love would help them live again…

Malik and Anna were survivors. They had to be to get where they were today. Anna may have been farther down the recovery timeline than Malik but soon they were going to walk that road… together.

Anna was a widow, a mother and the perfect person to quietly be by Malik’s side as he worked through all the emotions he had after returning home. Anna lost her husband and Malik lost himself, so not something they could brush off or easily walk away from. Guilt and grief haunted them both as the calm they felt with each other morphed into and love… I felt so bad for them both as they found this great love only to have their own emotions and misgivings holding them back…

A story of survival and the healing touch only love can provide, this was another great addition to the series! ~Diane, 4 stars

5 star Review Code Name: Ghost (Jameson Force Security #5) by Sawyer Bennett

I have been waiting, not so patiently, for Malik Fournier and Anna Tate’s story and it was everything that I was expecting and so much more. This is the fifth book in the Jameson Force Security series and I found myself just as entertained and riveted as I was with the first four books.

Finally being rescued and returning home after a mission gone horribly wrong, Malik lives with the guilt of surviving whilst others and in particular Anna’s husband, Jimmy, were killed.
Left pregnant and alone after her husband’s death, Anna has become an integral part of Jameson security.

Sawyer Bennett writes a story that is equal parts romance and suspense which makes for a well balanced exciting and intriguing read. The story is faced paced and you cannot help but be drawn into the story that Ms. Bennett weaves.

My emotions were all over the place whilst reading Ghost and I think that this one has earned the top spot as my favourite in the series. I loved Anna, what a strong, independent and loving woman she is and in my opinion the perfect woman for Malik. For Malik struggling with his grief, his guilt and coming to terms with surviving, he relates to Anna on on a number of levels. There is so much more to Malik than meets the eye and for me he was a swoon worthy hero devastated and haunted by his last mission and a man who deserves to find happiness.

Can Malik forge a bond with Anna, that will help heal both their souls or will the truth when revealed destroy their chance at happiness?

I had been waiting to hear all about Malik since he first came on the scene. Initially because he is Max and Lucas's younger brother (from the Cold Fury series) and secondly because of his mission with the Jameson Force Security group going sour. While reading the series, we know he was being held captive while trying to save some hostages and he had been missing for five months. This was a major reason why I needed to read this book, I was fully invested and desperate to know Malik was going to be ok and that he reaches a fulfilling HEA.

Malik returns to the States, and after a brief stay with his parents to heal, he arrives back to the Jameson compound to debrief. He is rattled with guilt and finds it hard to move on after two men were killed on his mission. One person that is relieved to see him, among many, is the widow of one of the fallen men, Anna. She feels a deep connection to Malik and they form a friendship from grief and loss and then acceptance. Anna is a compassionate woman that thinks things through before jumping the gun. She will look at every angle so she is fully informed to make a decision. Hence when Malik reveals what happened on that fateful night, she takes the time to investigate and absorb the information and then make her verdict.

I think what I loved most about this couple was their honesty and communication between each other. There was no games played, or back and forth of holding secrets. It was laid out on the table from the outset what they both wanted and expected. And the fact that Malik not only fell for Anna, but he adored her baby daughter Avery from the start as well. I was expecting more of a troubled sole from Malik on his return and that he would have problems settling back into his normal routine. That he might suffer from nightmares and deeper conflicting emotions of finally being rescued and survivors guilt. But the story has a lighter feel than my macabre wants and although Malik still battles through the emotions, just not as deep as I was anticipating. I also admired how they understood each others fears and could compromise when a situation arises. I was fully satisfied on how Malik got his HEA, and that he and Anna would be extremely happy together.

I think I have found a new audio couple that I could listen to again and again. Especially Aaron Shedlock, his voice is soothing and was exactly what I thought Malik would sound like from the cover.
Both did a great job in giving these great characters life and giving us all the emotions this book has. Highly recommend this book with audio.

I have been waiting not so patiently for Malik Fournier aka Ghost's story. He is ex-Marine Special Forces now in private security. We already knew he was captured during a mission and now we get to see what actually happened to him.

Once he returns home, he has to transition back to real life. He is a bit lost, self-isolating, anxious, and guilt-ridden. He has some physical and emotional work to do in order to move forward. His team welcomes him with open arms, including Anna whose husband, Jimmy did not make it home from the mission.

Anna gave birth to her daughter after her husband died on the mission. She is smart, independent-minded, and determined to make a good life for her daughter. She is happy to be working admin at Jameson security to have a purpose and help the team that supported her and her husband.

Anna and Malik strike up a friendship, but due to circumstances, there seems to be a bond and emotional attachment as well. They have this inherent need to have the other be okay due to the circumstances. But the new attraction they are feeling may make things more messy and complicated, especially for Malik who has such guilt and inner conflict. And even if they can find a way to move on, they also will have to consider how others might take their increasing closeness. And Malik lives for risky missions and making a difference, while Anna has already lost a husband on an assignment.

Will love be enough to overcome the challenges of a potential future?

I actually loved Anna and Malik. They are mature, communicate effectively, and truly try to understand and respect the other. Their friendship is sweet and their chemistry is hot. Her sibling type relationship with Cage is also fun. I enjoyed the return of the Fournier Cold Fury hockey family and the Jameson team. Even though the subject matter of this book could have made it a dark and extremely emotional or sad read, it is really not. There is humor, support, and friendship. It is hopeful and inspiring even after the most hopeless and difficult events. It does bring the feels and the swoon, but is not bogged down in negativity from the emotional situations. These two are survivors and there is this undeniable tether and true connection between them. It is more about overcoming the pain and trying to move forward. Malik totally stole my heart! This is my favorite book of this series.

I am looking forward to Cage's book, Code Name: Rook next. He is dealing with a situation of his own creation.

ARC received for an honest review

Welcome to another installment of the Jameson Force series.

Ever since "that mission" I have been anxious for both Anna and Malik - we have met them in earlier books, and I have needed more.

And Ms Bennett has definitely come out hitting with Code Name: Ghost.

I don't want to give anything away, but boy oh boy is this one a rollercoaster.

Feelings of grief and guilt play a big part in this story, and I felt it right to my core. So many tortured feelings and emotions, I just wanted to hug our lovelies so hard.

I loved getting more of the Jameson "family" dynamic and finding out where our previous couples are at, and have left me wanting more.

Please Ms Bennett, give me more.

Wow!! I knew Malik and Anna’s story was going to be an emotional one but I never anticipated the deep feels this one would give me! Malik’s story has been LONG anticipated! We first heard about his kidnapping in the Arizona Vengeance Series, then in the Wicked Horse Vegas Series and of course the Jameson Team has been seeking for him for months! I was so happy when he was rescued. By the end of chapter one I was already bawling my eyes out!

I ADORED Anna. She is a strong, independent woman, grieving the loss of her husband, Jimmy who died during the same mission where Malik was kidnapped. She is a single mom to 4 month old baby, Avery. She is working as Kynan’s personal assistant at Jameson and she fits in perfectly with the Jameson Team and Family.

Malik has just returned after being held in captivity in Syria for 5 months. He has endured so much pain, torture and starvation to the extent no one should ever have to experience and has managed to survive and come out on the other side. He is strong and resilient and a true fighter.

Anna and Malik compliment each other perfectly. Malik is struggling after the death of two of his teammates and Anna is struggling after her husbands death. Due to this their emotional connection is deep, special and unique. Anna had no problems standing up for herself with what she wanted from Malik. She is fierce and and strong and never excepted any less than she deserved. Not to mention the passion and heat between these two!! Holy fireworks!

I loved the Fournier’s in the previous Cold Fury books and loved their return in this book. Malik’s relationship with his family I adored. He is super close to all his siblings and the closeness and dynamic between them was so special.

I LOVED Anna’s friendship with Cage and the teasers dropped in this book for his story next were EVERYTHING! I cannot wait for his book, Code Name: Rook coming in October!

Code Name: Ghost is a top favourite in the series and deserves more than 5 stars!

This is the 5th book of the series. We have heard of Malik all along. He was part of a mission gone wrong and held hostage for 5 month. Fans of the author's hockey series will also recognize Malik's pro hockey playing brothers. It's a great cross over read since we do see a fair bit of his family in this book.

We have met Anna before as well. Her husband was killed in the mission gone wrong. She is a single mom to a sweet baby girl. Both characters have SOOOOO much baggage. Can they find their way through the darkness in time to save their hearts? With the help of their friends and family, there does seem to be reason to hope.

This is a slow burn story. Friends to lovers. Lots of dealing with PTSD. The story is about the characters. We don't see as much about the Jameson group activities. There isn't really any suspense. <><> Story Overview <><>
The book blurb explains it well. The only thing I’ll add is that I don’t view this is as forbidden love. Malik was a teammate of Anna’s husband and Jimmy and Malik were on a mission together. It was their first mission and they barely knew each other. Now that Anna‘s husband is gone, Malik and Anna form a bond. I don’t feel this is forbidden.
The mission: Jameson had been hired to work in conjunction with an international rescue team that was going into Syria to try to recover some relief workers who were taken hostage.

<><> Characters <><>
Hero: Malik Fournier; Age: late 20’s; Occupation: works for Jameson Force Security

* The following words/phrases were used to describe Hero: former marine, former special forces, has seen some pretty sketchy shit, has famous hockey brothers (from the Cold Fury series), has been through SERE school (Survival, Evasion, Resistance, Escape), held captive for five months, has dual citizenship between the United States and Canada, comes from an incredibly close-knit family, blames himself for the death of his teammates, has integrity, confronts things, an introvert, adrenaline junkie

Heroine: Anna Tate; Age: I’m guessing mid to late 20’s; Occupation: admin assistant to Kynan McGrath ( owner of Jameson Force Security)

* The following words/phrases were used to describe Heroine: widow - husband died in rescue mission just weeks before she gave birth to their child, single mother, was in the Army, grieving, easygoing, strong, independent, daring, adventurous, not afraid of a challenge, transparent

<><> A Few Thoughts <><>

^^ ~ Malik was rescued in chapter 1, so thankfully the reader was spared his captivity details

^^ ~ this book spends some time setting up the couple for the next book

^^ ~ nothing suspenseful about this book. So it was different than the other books in this series.

^^ ~ Anna is brutally honest. Yeah. She’s secure in who she is, she seeks answers, processes things and then doesn't hold back with how she’s feeling. I loved that about her.

^^ ~ Malik is very close with his family. No family drama - nice!

^^ ~ the biggest drama in this story was Malik’s hesitancy to break the bro-code. He thought the guys at Jameson would chastise him for breaking the bro-code because he was getting involved with a teammate’s wife. This didn’t make sense to me given the fact that Anna’s husband was now dead, AND Malik barely even knew the guy. So the bro-code drama was irritating. I felt the bro-code thing was added for the drama factor because there really was no other drama. I couldn’t get behind this, so this drama element didn’t work for me.

^^ ~ there wasn’t much story around Malik processing his captivity. It was mentioned here and there, but the reader never got insight into him actually working through all of his feelings about what actually happened to him.

^^ ~ Anna wanted something more out of her career, but that story just fell flat and went nowhere. I guess she decided she didn’t want something different (career-wise) after all?

Anna: “It’s painful to be around people, isn’t it?” Malik: “What makes you say that?”

Malik: “Thank you for getting that about me. For understanding.”

Code Name: Ghost by Sawyer Bennett is such a good read.

The storyline is emotional, heartfelt and held my attention from start to end.
Once I started reading I couldn't put it down. One more chapter ended up with me getting very little sleep and it was worth it.

You're going to love Malik & Anna's story in Code Name: Ghost. Both are wonderful, endearing characters that have gone through so much pain and hurt.
Watching Malik and Anna's relationship unfold will pull at your heart strings and leave you with a heart full of love.
I loved how they were able to give each other a reason to live life again after everything they've been through. Love, comfort, safety and a reason to smile again.
These two were perfect for each other.

Overall, Code Name: Ghost is a wonderful addition to the Jameson Force Security and I highly recommend it.

Now I need Code Name: Rook, Cage has some explaining to do lol

*I received a free copy of Code Name: Ghost from Big Dog Books. This has in no way influenced my review which is honest and unbiased.*

Code Name: Ghost finally brought some relief when it comes to Malik, but also for Ann. I love the Jameson Force Security gang, and I had been so very anxious about what was going on with Malik.

I loved that he and Ann bonded when he came back, even if Malik did everything in his power to not bond with her too much.

ARC kindly received in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this book. I've been wanting Maliks story ever since we started hearing about him and the mission he was on, a little while ago. I've been dying to know what would become of him.

He and Anna were the perfect pair. They had such a comfortable relationship with each other, even though it was kind of born out of their common grief and healing process. They had a bond because of this one thing which helped them.

I really liked how they were with each other, and even though there is a lot of push and pull, and trying to decide what's right, and how they feel - there's also a lot of honesty, which is really refreshing.

A fantastic addition to this series and I can't wait for more!

I absolutely didn't expect this book to go the direction it (didn't read the blurb) did but I loved it. I am so happy Malik was finally found and brought back home.

I love Anna, she is so strong, and the compassion and camaraderie she shows to all the people at Jameson Force Security shows what a really good person she is. And I loved the relationship Malik has with his family. It shows he has a really good support system. The friendship that develops between Anna and Malik lays the perfect foundation for their relationship to thrive. But there is one major road block. Will they be able to get past it? Or is their relationship doomed from the very beginning?

Malik Founier was captured in a mission gone wrong in Syria that resulted in the death of two of his teammates from Jameson Force Security. Held prisoner for months in the worst conditions possible, he finally is rescued by teammates from Jameson. Returning home a physical shell of his former self, he feels guilty that he's survived and two of his teammates didn't. Is it his fault that they died? The widow (Anna) of his fallen teammate Jimmy doesn't know all the details of the mission, but forms a bond with Malik over their shared loss. As Malik and Anna grow closer and as things start to get physical, will Anna feel differently when she hears Malik's version of what happened in Syria? Has Malik's survivor's guilt distorted the reality?

I loved Malik and Anna together. They were two really strong leads with lots of chemistry. I admired Anna for being able to move forward after surviving such a tragedy of losing her husband while pregnant with their first child. I admired her for accepting a job at Jameson even though it had to be difficult being around her husband's contemporaries. I admired her for worrying about the fate of Malik, and for her sincerity when he was rescued and making him feel welcomed and becoming his friend. I loved how they were able to relate to each other and talk and really develop a strong friendship. I loved when this frienship started to heat up and their emotional connection became physical as well. I loved the attraction they felt for each other and knew it would be explosive when they acted on it. I liked how Anna (and some required counseling from the Jameson therapist) was able to help Malik overcome his feelings of survivor's guilt enough to move on with his life.

Of course there had to be some conflict-- all was not entirely rosy. As Anna and Malik's feelings for each other grew, they faced the question of Malik going on another dangerous mission. Could Anna live with the possibility of losing Malik? Could she lose another man in her life and survive it? Or would it destroy her?

I'm really enjoying this series and of course Sawyer Bennett manages to always give you characters to root for and a satisfying HEA. This book was a winner for me.

~ 4 Healing Stars ~

Code Name : Ghost is different from the other books in this series. I thought it was just as enjoyable, but this more emotional. Also this book lacks the suspense we usually see in this series.

I feel like I have been waiting for Malik’s story for forever and I am so glad we finally got his story. Like I said this book is on the emotional side because we are following the story of Malik and Anna.

Malik has a lot to overcome now that he has been rescued from captivity and Anna needs to learn to move on and heal from the death of Jimmy (her husband). I loved watching these two form a bond that no one else could understand. Both facing grief and guilt, they truly understood what the other was feeling. I also loved that Sawyer started these two off as friends and then ventured into something more.

This book is a slow burn that is told in Dual POV. This is the 4th book in this series, but all of the books can be read as standalones. I think to truly appreciate Malik’s story you should read the previous books in this series first. But it not absolutely necessary. I thought the flow and pace of the story worked well and was perfect for Anna and Malik’s story.

I enjoyed that she set up the story for the next book in this series. I look forward to reading Cage’s story and seeing how he gets out of the pickle he got himself in ;)

If you are a fan of this series, then you don’t want to miss Malik’s story. I would definitely recommend this story/series to all romance readers!!

About Code Name: Ghost:

Heartfelt and emotional, this love story may be part of a romantic suspense series but its focus is on finding love after loss. Pairing a new widow with the man who was on the mission that took her husband's life, it's a somewhat somber and serious read that will tug on your heartstrings. If you're not caught up on the series, you won't have any trouble jumping right into the mix, though those who are familiar with the characters may have a richer experience. It's a quick, tender read that shows another side to Bennett's work, and I enjoyed it from start to finish.

The story follows Malik, a private military specialist who is just returning from a mission gone wrong. He was captured, tortured, and has spent the last several months living a grave reality. Upon returning home, he's wrestling some demons, including the belief that he's responsible for the deaths of two of his teammates. One of those teammates left behind a pregnant wife, Anna, who Malik has to face at work. He expects the relationship to be difficult, but Malik and Anna bond over their shared grief, quickly becoming friends and then straddling the line into something more.

I loved that these two are friends first, building up the emotional connection and communicating openly. We see both of their vulnerabilities and the obvious hangups they have about starting up a relationship. Not only is Anna a brand new mother, but she also hasn't been widowed for very long, so moving on with one of her husband's teammates is especially complicated. Anna and Malik are both good people and their connection is obvious, so I wanted to seem them find happiness. I did struggle a bit with the timeline because these two seem to work through their grief in a matter of days, and I think the story could've benefited from a few more romantic scenes. That being said, I liked the story a lot and finished it in one sitting. We get a peek at a future love story, and I am definitely excited to see how that one plays out. I received an ARC via the author and am voluntarily leaving a review of this heartfelt romance.

I have to admit, this was the book in the series I’ve been making grabby hands at because of my love and adoration for Max Founier, Malik’s brother, and I was crossing my toes hard that he and the rest of the fam would make an appearance or two, so yeah. I was all kinds of excited. And outside of the familial ties, I really enjoyed Malik and Anna’s journey. It was fun, heartbreaking and swoon worthy and I just really liked how everything surrounding Malik and Anna played out, as well as getting to hang out more with the JFS gang and getting a glimpse at what was coming up next in their world.

I loved Anna and Malik. Both have been put through an emotional storm and have come out on the other side a bit bruised and battered, but strong. Anna is sweet, hard working and independant. She’s done what was needed to be done to find a way to live her life in order to ensure that her daughter has a mom who is whole. Malik went through things that most could never imagine, or even want to, and while he is grateful, and thankful, to have made it out, he carries around a lot of guilt. But when he isn’t berating himself over all that happened, he is a really sweet guy. He is close to his family and simply loves what he does.

Their journey to their HEA could have gone any number of ways, but I liked the road that was taken. They have a shared experience that has connected them and I liked how they navigated around and through it all by becoming friends first and then becoming more. The push/pull is there, but the angst is relatively low ~ which I found suited both Anna and Malik and who they were at their very core and I loved where they were at in the end.

This was a great addition to the series. I enjoyed how Malik’s recovery was handled and the steps he went through to get back to some sort of semblance of normal for him. As for what he went through while captured, we are given some insight, but nothing too detailed, so it’s low on triggers. I loved catching up with the various members of the JFS gang and meeting a few new ones as well. There is a good dose of Cage (Code Name: Rook) in this one and I cannot wait to see how his situation plays out, because it’s gonna be a doozy!

I was really excited to read this book & Savored it in 7hrs.
I was so worried about Malik! I'm so damn Happy (so's everyone) that he was rescued here.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Both, Malik & Anna, have experienced great losses, from that mission gone wrong. Him his comrades, then feeling hopeless in months of captivity. Anna her husband, Leaving her as a widow & Single mom to their newborn baby. But she stood strong and now is a vital asset to Jameson's.
So even though things are awkward at 1st b/w them, they soon form a beautiful bond, on their shared grief.

I'm so proud of them. They've came out stronger through it all, still able to feel happy, to live life. They're both gorgeous people, having phenomenal personalities, I love'em❤

Anna & Malik's bond soon forms a friendship, with working, going to bars and spending time. All together.
Though their attraction evident, none made the leap: Both were cautious about their feelings, feeling guilty. until that drunken life changing kiss.
(It was kinda cute, him trying to avoid her, knowing the kiss talk will come ;-)

I really liked how transparent both were from the start, laying all the cards at the table. How before starting anything, he told her about that fateful night, the guilt he feels. I admired Her, she didn't make rash emotional decisions, But found the total truth. The Other side of the story.

She's good at persuasion, hehe it was fun to see him finally yield! Their Chemistry is so hot *fanning myself* Also, He's totally sweet with Baby Avery *Swoon*

They had a lot to work through. This clusterfuck situation, their complex feelings. Also Bro code secrecy (wtf?), Family meets ;-) And the matter that Malik works the same dangerous job that can get him killed..
But through it all, their love just strengthens. These two deserve HEA more than anyone, and they got it❤

I loved meeting Malik's family! They are a close bunch, I wanna read cold fury series now😍 I liked Anna's mom too! She's so good❤

The epilogue was amazing! Malik, Anna and Avery make a cute family😍

P.s.Loved seeing the Jameson crew! AND Kynan playing the matchmaker, seriously he was a lot of help, so was corinne (crew physiatrist).

P.p.s. Cage was a big part of the story, him being Anna's friend. I'm so excited to know about his marriage xD
