'I've never felt comfortable in my own skin before'

So heartbreaking, Toni and Allen are so worried about how others see them and their judgement, that they stifle their own feelings and frustrations, never dealing with them and hiding away.
When they finally lower their defenses and let each other see snapshots of their pain and suffering, they realise the only person with an issue about how they look is themselves, can they help each other heal enough to begin living again? Or will Toni allow the guilt to continue suffocating her?
A poignant and heartfelt journey in this book where two very broken people find their soul mates...aided by Mrs Claus obviously!

Toni arrives in Michigan at the Inn along the shore of Lake Michigan. The Inn boasts cabins that each have a theme. Toni is lodged in the Bear Cabin at the edge of the woods. She is a photographer of nature and has come to photograph the lives of Seagulls, in their habitat. She is also a reclusive person who cannot forgive herself for a tragic accident in her childhood that
injured herself and left her brother paralyzed for life.
Allen arrives at the Inn and is lodged in a cabin set up to be Nautical. Upon his arrival he is given a Christmas gift? A tiny camera that is so detailed it is quite unbelievable. Allen is also reclusive and keeps his scars hidden from everyone. He also hides and keeps to himself most of the time.
When these two meet, the connection is incredible and they find years of doubt and fears falling away with each other. Did this magical little camera bring these two together? Can they help each other through the toughest times in their lives and become one of the couples that have found lasting love? Danni Roans characters are beautifully written and bring out the best in each other.
The story line is believable and hits highs and lows, showing how people react to trauma and how they recover. Love and faith prevail. Such a heartwarming story! One you will enjoy!

Two lonely hurting individuals find healing in nature and each other. Shutter Shock is an entertaining read in The Ornamental Match Maker - Christmas in July series. As a Michigander, who observes sea gulls, Danni Roan descriptions of sea gulls, moose, bears and the landscape was breath taking. A delightful summer read with likable characters, flowing plots, and a believable resolution. Forgiving oneself is the theme of the story.

💘and acceptance

I've had a limp for so many years from an old injury this story resonates with me. The journey through life can leave both inward and outward scars. What a Blessing two individuals received in this beautiful story of love and acceptance. This is another 👍 addition to the Ornamental matchmaker collection. This easy read novel is suitable for teens and adults.

I totally LOVE how this story takes place at the Old Inn. This is like a series within a series. I get to catch up on the things going on there and meeting new people. Antoinette and Allen both find that its the inner beauty of a person shining through is much greater than physical looks.
