I want more!!
This is a novella of sorts but it’s actually the beginning of the book Pink that comes out on the 8th of May.
It shows how Gigi and Lev met before the 5 year time lapse.
It truly reeled me in and if I was looking forward to the book before, now I’m even more excited!
I love how Bethany can make the simplest action/word weight more than any complicated/original plot. She writes pragmatic characters and there’s a certain mood and cadence to her stories that always pulls me in.
I liked that this wasn’t the beginning of an epic love story and it didn’t have any big dramatic moments or any miscommunication to separate them. It was strictly about how life gets in the way sometimes and the connections or people we miss out on because it wasn’t the right time or place. I feel like that in itself is a more powerful message because of its simplicity.
I also loved how the leads met. It was so natural, simple, real! (How many times have we found ourselves in the same type of situations? -except maybe not in a mafia connected bar- but we never paid attentions to the what ifs or we made a choice that eliminated any further possibilities)
We always want to believe in the big, dramatic or sweet love stories but the truth is that most of them are a product of chance, right moment and right place. When the stars align and all that.
This is the story of two people who shared a few nights between the sheets but never had any intentions of pursuing anything not because they didn’t want to commit or anything silly like that, it was just because .. life. He was struggling to make ends meet and dealing with a life altering event and she had just been offered the opportunity of a lifetime which would take her to a different country. When they met, their immediate future had already been decided and it didn’t converge at any point. There was something there (they both knew it) but neither one of them had the time and ability to dig deeper so they just let the pieces fall and didn’t distance themselves from their individual path.
Annnnnd now we wait... for the book.

Before Pink was Pink. This is a novella that sets the introduction of Lev “Pink” Arsov and Gigi Rey Parker. They are just themselves before their worlds changed forever. It’s them and the connection they felt even if it was short and sweet. Looking forward to their HEA.

This was a great novella, getting a little bit of an insight into Lev's life before he became Andino Marcello's enforcer. This story was heartfelt as Lev's life was not an easy one which lead him to do unconventional things in order to survive but, for just a blimp in time, one woman fired his blood and made him smile. Gigi was a sweetheart, and she is more than just a beautiful face because we found her to be funny, sweet, kind and one who owns her sexuality and in future books we think she will be a force to be reckoned with. We loved getting to know these characters down right to the old lady as they were all quite love-able already, and we can't wait to read what comes next from then." Loved it !"

Me gusto este adelanto, creo que muestra muy bien la personalidad y conexion de Pink y Gigi, ademas, quede con ganas de saber mas de su historia, es mas, ya empece a leer Pink, del cual llevo pocos capitulos por lo que aun no puedo opinar demasiado.
Lev me encanto, no esperaba que fuera a ser tan adorable y sencillo, comparado con los otros protagonistas de la autora resulta mas humano, si no sufre un cambio, sera uno de los mejores personajes de Bethany Kris, a Gigi la conocemos menos, asi que me ahorro mi opinion sobre ella hasta conocerla mas.

I love this. LOVE. Their story, so far, is all about timing. Their lives collide at the most unexpected time. But still the chemistry is there, the heat is there, and they go with it. But life won't let it be that easy on them. I can already tell from this peek into their story that it's gonna be a crazy ride. And have me smiling, a lot. Because that's already what this book did for me. I thought I couldn't get any more excited about Pink than I already was from hearing about him in other books. I was wrong. I want to know everythingggg.

Lev Arson is a 24-year-old man who earns a living working as a bartender in Nicky´s bar, and occasionally fights in the same bar.
Gigi Parker is a 20-year-old woman who is about to see her dreams come true, she has just been offered a contract in Paris as a model. To celebrate, she goes with her friend and roommate Cassie to Nicky´s bar and there she meets Lev. The chemistry between them is immense and they spend 2 nights together full of passion.
But life has prepared for him a couple of surprises that will change his life: the first, an offer to work as an enforcer for Andino Marcello ,and the second, in the form of a 6-month-old baby girl, the result of a fling he had with one of his neighbors.
Gigi tries to say goodbye to Lev before leaving, but when she gets to his home, she is late, Lev has moved.
Lev has an incident with his laundry due to a souvenir that he kept as a memory of his nights with Gigi, and that’s when he stops being called Lev to become known as Pink.😂😂😂
Besides, it wasn’t like Lev was a saint or anything, but he did have a fucking conscience and some semblance of a moral compass despite what his life might suggest. Earlier his intentions with Gigi had only been to try to have a quick fuck with the girl that looked like his wettest goddamn dreams. Making sure she got home really was the absolute least he could do.

Every time I pick up a new book from Bethany-kris it feels like I’m welcomed back home into a world I’ve missed terribly. This one is no exception... or at least the first part of it. I honestly avoided reading this because I knew I would be sad I couldn’t have the whole thing.
But this book? I’m in love- as I expected. These characters are so compelling already, and I love seeing the Marcello characters again. I can’t wait to fast forward the 5 years to see where GiGi and Pink end up.

He's not the moody-broody type, as much as he is a realist. Lev sees the world as it is—people for who they are. An honest man, Lev isn't easily swayed by people's bullshit. He always figures shit out, one way or another. Resilient AF.
Andino Marcello, notorious Mafia boss, approaches Lev with a proposition—work for him, die for him, if need be...and never ask questions. Lev knows once someone jumps down the Mafia rabbit hole they have to accept the darkness. He questions if he wants that life.
Lev enjoys the distraction that is Gigi Parker, when her legs for days walk into the bar. She's a whiskey-sour and a dream chaser.
Gigi has a face for magazine covers but she's more than a snapshot. She sees people for who they are, not what the world has dealt them. And every ounce of her success has been earned.
Gigi runs into Lev while celebrating. In the crowded bar, all they can see each other. The curiosity—the need doesn't stop there. They barely make it to the bedroom.

I was so freakin’ excited when Bethany-Kris released Before, the back story to her upcoming standalone Pink. This book was not only a Godsend, it was free at the time I picked it up on Amazon.
Before shares the amusing back-story of how Lev became known as Pink and the steamy set up behind meeting Gigi. Both Pink and Gigi are hard workers who hook up just before each gets offered a step up in their careers. They are both strong characters who appealed to me right from the very beginning.
Lev’s an antihero who turns on the charm when it suits him. He’s there to help the kid in need, the elderly neighbour and of course Gigi who is looking to celebrate her amazing job offer.
There was something enthralling about a woman finding something she liked and then deciding she was going to take it.
Gigi has fun seducing Lev. So much so that she comes back for seconds. However needing to leave town in a hurry she lucked out on her third time round. I loved her confidence and JFI attitude she had for life in general. So does Lev and I can’t wait to catch up with them again!
On top of the romance, Andino is back with a job offer Lev can’t refuse. Andino is a character I warm to a little more each time he appears in a book. Here, he subtly reveals his compassionate side.

Happenstance if you want a word to sum up the earlier meeting of Lev and Gigi before life took them on their journeys, before he became Pink Andino Marcello's enforcer and she an internationally recognised supermodel. An if only but I think that makes it more interesting because you know there will be more to come just not now.

A great little novella that has totally wet my appetite for Pink. I loved seeing Lev as a young man before he became Pink the mafia enforcer. I liked the chemistry between him and Gigi and I am looking forward to these two meeting again, I also loved how he reacted to Arely and was all in the moment he saw her ♥

First of all let me say, I love every book Bethany-Kris has ever written. The book gives us the back story of Pink and how Gigi came to be in his life. It was entertaining to read and see how the 6'4, good-looking guy got the name Pink. And to really see what kind of guy he was deep down. I thoroughly enjoyed this book!

I'm so glad that I know there will be more to this story because I was not ready for it to end. In fact, I forgot for a while there that this was even a prequel. Mafia, hot steamy times, and a baby? Hell yeah, I can't wait for, Pink, to be released next week.

Always a thrill to read one of Bethany’s books! They always suck me in and consume me.
This one was no different. A quick, steamy ready about the ones you can never seem to forget. Even when life gets in the way and completely changes.

I love when Kris uses characters from other of her books. I usually wonder what these characters stories are.

My English review
The author surprised us with this novella (which is a preview) that takes place in Pink’s past and tells the story of our hero’s past and his meeting with Gigi. But that’s not all, because she also tells us about the meeting between Andino and Pink. And we finally learn where this nickname comes from.
It was a short novel, but not so short in the end and I really enjoyed learning more about Pink that you often see in Andino + Haven’s novels.
I had a really good time with this story and it was a good discovery. Now I can’t wait to get into “Pink”!

The beginning of an epic love story. You get a glimpse of Pink as just Lev. Gigi and Lev has major chemistry and I enjoyed every minute! Be sure to read Pink as it continues where this leaves off!
