Memorial Day approaches and an old friend of Adam's dies visiting an historic graveyard. Heart attack? Or something else, since General Whitaker had texted Adam Harrison about strange events happening there?
Jackson and Angela investigate to discover the truth, learning more about war and peace and the human condition along the way. (Short story, approx. 8,000 words)
New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Heather Graham majored in theater arts at the University of South Florida. After a stint of several years in dinner theater, back-up vocals, and bartending, she stayed home after the birth of her third child and began to write, working on short horror stories and romances. After some trial and error, she sold her first book, WHEN NEXT WE LOVE, in 1982 and since then, she has written over one hundred novels and novellas including category, romantic suspense, historical romance, vampire fiction, time travel, occult, and Christmas holiday fare. She wrote the launch books for the Dell's Ecstasy Supreme line, Silhouette's Shadows, and for Harlequin's mainstream fiction imprint, Mira Books.

Heather loves travel and anything have to do with the water, and is a certitified scuba diver. Married since high school graduation and the mother of five, her greatest love in life remains her family, but she also believes her career has been an incredible gift, and she is grateful every day to be doing something that she loves so very much for a living.
So after reading and hating her last book due to the incessant reminder of Covid, social distancing, wearing a mask etc... I decided to try this one thinking she got it out of her system.... nope.... it got worse. These books are meant to be escapes from the horrible things in the world not a constant reminder. People's mental well being is already being tested every moment with the constant reminder of how bad things are. When they open a fiction book they do so to try to escape for a short period of time.
In addition this story was wrought with spelling and grammatical errors and the storyline itself was rushed and honestly forgettable. If this is the best you can do while in quarantine then please just stop trying, wait for the world to right itself and try again. Maybe take up another hobby right now because clearly something you were good at is suffering immensely and because of that the entire series and characters you've worked hard to cultivate are also suffering. Put the Krewe on quarantine.
Paranormal short story to commemorate Memorial Day 2020
This is a good but predictable, paranormal short story featuring FBI Special Agents, Angela Hawkins and Jackson Crow, solving a murder in a Civil War graveyard, which is haunted by ghosts. I liked this as a light, quick read for these pandemic, shut-in times. This is a Heather Graham shorter book squished into a short story, but I enjoy the Krewe of Hunters series, so I’ll read more of her books. This was a timely read, which reminded me of our history of racism and slavery. On 01 June 2020, federal police and National Guard used CS tear-gas, OC pepper-balls, flash-bang grenades, and rubber pellet balls on non-violent BLM protestors outside Lafayette Square, Washington DC. Here is American history writ large.
For Honor And Glory. This is another wonderful book about the Krewe of Hunters in the FBI who deal with paranormal activity to find out if it real or not. The storyline is believable and it takes place in a graveyard in Maryland. The graveyard and church is really old and it has soldiers from the war between the states. The story also takes place a day or so before Memorial Day. Adams friend is killed and it is ruled a heart attack so Adam sends Jackson and his wife to check to see what happened.
I would tell everyone if you like different or unusual books then this book and author is for you.
Angela and Jackson are looking into the death of Adams friend. It appears natural, but things aren’t always what they seem.
The writing is fast paced and the ghosts are instrumental to solving the case. The history and ghost roles were kore present in this short story and it was great to have that angle back in the story. The split families due to war and how it played in the afterlife was an intriguing concept. Angela and Jackson’s love is precious and it is fun to see the pregnancy and their relationship within these novellas.
Heather Graham's short stories are always fun! They are full of ghosts with stories from beyond the grave. In this one, relatives from both sides of the Civil War were buried in areas that were separated by their ideology. Present day drug problems had invaded their tombs and the Krew came to the rescue!
Adam Harrison’s dear old friend has died but did he die because it was his time or was he killed? Jackson and Angela are investigating but know that things are not what they seem. Along the way, they meet some spirits from the Civil War who join together as they never could while they were alive.
I loved it. I knew I would because Heather Graham is the best and I really love a good ghost story. The Jackson's are wonderful Krewe characters who both see ghosts and work in special forces for the government. Plot was interesting and exciting. Satisfying conclusion.
When an old friend of Adam's dies unexpectedly, he's afraid it might not have been natural causes. He decides to send Jackson and Angela to investigate his friend's death. Was it just an accident? Or something else? Jackson and Angela will get to the bottom of things....hopefully safely.
Another awesome short story from the Krewe featuring Angela and Jackson! As a favor for Adam, they look into the sudden death of a retired General in a cemetery!
Graham always writes a story you believe. She has an exceptional ability to work a story you can believe. I'm read many of her books and all of them are intriguing and very real. Enjoy this short version of life and belief.
A short story in which Adam Harrison asks Jackson and Angela to investigate the suspicious death of an old friend in a Civil War cemetery on the eve of Memorial Day. HG really does like cemeteries!
Another wonderful novella by Heather Graham. I enjoyed the story line very much. I always enjoy the history that Ms. Graham incorporates into each of her stories. Wonderful series!!!!
At Antietam civil war soldiers were buried. The blue on one side and the gray on the other. Right before Memorial Day, an old soldier visits the cemetery.
The subject matter of this one was quite different. It was handled as well as I think it could be, although there is no really good way to do so. Kudos to the author for trying their best.
Happy Memorial Day!! This short book honors soldiers, both from the Civil War until present. Heather Graham's story is short but has a very sweet ending.
