He’s going to give her the Christmas gift of her dreams…in triplicate.
When Justin Garrett accidentally views Amy Parker’s private online journal, he sees the cold corporate exec in a brand new light. It seems the icy, unapproachable Amy has fantasies. Fantasies that both appall and intrigue her.
No one knows the real Amy Parker, and she’s satisfied to keep it that way. A woman with kinky tastes wouldn’t cut it in the straight-laced law firm where she’s fought her way to partnership. And she certainly refuses to let an underling use her to advance in the firm. Justin Garrett might be brilliant, gorgeous, and sexy as hell, but he’s firmly restricted to her fantasies and that’s where he’ll stay.
While working together on a corporate acquisition in Hawaii over the Christmas holidays, Justin sets out to make Amy’s secret fantasy come true—a night of passion with two men who adore her. And he knows the ideal other man to help Amy unwrap the perfect Christmas gift.
But first he has to melt her heart and convince her he sees her as a woman, not a rung to climb on the career ladder. In fact, by giving Amy exactly what she’s always wished for, Justin hopes to climb right into her heart.

Jaci Burton is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling, award-winning author of over 85 books. She lives in Oklahoma and when she isn’t on deadline (which is often), she can usually be found wrestling with her uncooperative garden, wrangling her dogs, watching an unhealthy amount of television, or completely losing track of time reading a great book. She’s a total romantic and longs for the happily ever after in every story, which you’ll find in all her books.. Visit her website at www.jaciburton.com for excerpts, book information and contests.
Note to self - Even if the book's on sale and you like the author, start reading the description and/or reviews before purchasing. (The dangers of ebooks . . . too easy to buy!). Bought it when I was on a download binge before a 3 week trip and right after reading a Jaci Burton I really liked. Disappointed that I spent the $ on it, but probably would not have purchased it if I took a second or two to research.
So the reasons for my disappointment - some self-inflicted, some the book's problems.
1) Super short - too short for the price. It's 91 pages - and the story doesn't even go that long because of the bonus materials at the end. I did not see then when buying as I'd not pay that much for a single novella.
2) Not what I was expecting - If I'd read the description more closely maybe I would have had a better idea. It's not a story. It's lots of steamy stuff going on - crazy steamy, crazy menegetrois steamy, but I wouldn't call it erotica with the focus on getting to a happy endy. But there wasn't much of a story - it was like a bit of plot thrown in to justify the sex scenes. Which is okay if that's what you want - but i was looking for a romance with a story.
3) Lawyer story lines. Ms. Burton - go make friends with some folks who practice in large firms and get them to edit your work. I don't even know where to begin, but every aspect of the story was driving me crazy because it was just off. For example, the whole story is premised on a business deal in which one of the male protagonists is selling off a portion of his business, aka "divestiture." Yet the characters refer to it as a merger, an acquistion, and a divestiture. All three may be in the same transaction (in fact a diverstiture to one company is generally an acquisition by an other) but not for the same company. And you don't execute simply by signing documents. And, I'll just shut up now - but it was driving me batty.
I know one is not going to read a book like this for the legal details, but so much is so off. Other crazy stuff - like if the two main characters have a romance one or both will be fired. At what wacky law firm is that? Intra-law firm romances happen all the time. Only time I know where a firing resulted where was a married associate started doing a married secretary - and that was mainly because it affected the secretary's work. And the heroine's career timeline at the firm was also wacky. Plus, they would not really be competing against each other at this stage in their careers And as a partner, you would not (and generally could not without violating ethical rules), drop clients that quickly. Of course, the author is using the word junior partner, when I think she means senior associate.
I'll shut up on this point - but you can write a quick and short and sex novella, and still make it somewhat believable. The legal stuff is just so very, very off.

You won't be able to put it down. 5 stars.
This novella also annoyed me (nearly as much as it's "Show Me" counterpart) . The heroine is needlessly uptight (yes, you are a lawyer, but no need to be a bitch about it), and then all of a sudden she is masturbating on a plane (in front of sleeping strangers), and later on having a manage-a-trois on the beach. Like, really ? For an uptight prude, you surely do a lot of kinky stuff ...
And then, when the guy wants it to be more than just a one-time fling, she claims she can't because "People like them didn’t have relationships – they had careers." Are you kidding me?! Get off your high horse! Funnily enough, all the lawyers I've ever met have families (unless having a wife/husband and kids doesn't constitute a relationship!) !!! So her general high-handedness and "holier-than-though" attitude grated on my nerves !
3.5 stars. This novella by Jaci Burton is part of the bundle Holiday Seduction (the other story is by Lauren Dane, I haven't read that because I only bought Unwrapped). Unwrapped is a hot and fast read. Compared to reading a Blaze novel it seems lacking of background information about the characters but maybe that's because Blaze novels are so elaborate in that department. Unwrapped is about a lot of hot sex and a bit of loving as well. Colleagues Justin and Amy want each other for years now and when they're on Hawaii to meet a client, Justin finally starts seducing Amy after he'd accidentally read an email from Amy in which she tells her friend her deepest sexual fantasy (a threesome that includes Justin). In Hawaii Amy slowly starts to loosen up and lets him seduce her. On the night of Christmas Eve she even lets the client Mitch take part of the seduction and they have a steamy, sexy threesome. After that Amy takes a run home and tries to avoid Justin, but he doesn't let her get away of course and confesses his love for her. And they live HEA.
Justin is not only hot (dark hair, long legs, muscled with a sixpack, whiskey eyes) but also sweet. Amy is harder to like, because of her sometimes icy behaviour. She's more concerned with their careers and less with his feelings. It's a good thing that he's so persistent. Because of Justin I rate this story with 3,5 stars, otherwise it would've been 3.
Jaci Burton has blown my mind away with this sexy romance between a sexually repressed and uptight woman and that of two hunky men who want to show her that all work and no play makes for a very dull time. Amy soon finds out that when it comes to Mitch and Justin, she is overwhelmed and will have the best Christmas ever, whether she wants to or not. But she does take her “gift” and that is where you need to break out the fan! As I found myself reading, I became jealous of Amy because not only does Justin want her body, he wants to possess her heart and soul. She may think Justin is too young, but with the help of Mitch, he shows her how mature he really is. Mitch was also too good to be true, and even though he realizes that Amy and Justin belong together, he is willing to help out his good friend. And if I were Amy, I wouldn’t be complaining in the least!
The love scenes between Amy and Justin are sexy and sweet. And when Mitch joins in the fun, this romance turns into the ultimate fantasy for any woman. UNWRAPPED is written by a pro, and I know when reading a story by Jaci Burton I will experience the best that erotic romance has to offer.
Another fantastic Jaci Burton story--younger man/older woman, and an especially up-tight one at that. Just a very good tale of what can happen when a career-minded woman, caught up in the tension of trying to prove her worth in a male-dominated profession, meets up with a man who sees beyond the brittle exterior to the passionate warmth below the surface. Loved Mitch as well -- a kind and generous man who was willing to give of himself to make her fantasy come true. Just a really great read!
While I didn't have a problem with the writing or even the plot, this novel was just "there" for me. I didn't find anything spectacular about the characters or the circumstances nor did I find anything wrong with them. Burton writes sexy scenes and while I will still continue to read her works - new and old - I found the first two books I read from her (The Perfect Play, Unraveled) more engaging and suited to my tastes.
Justin Garrett and Amy Parker are competing against each other for promotions at the law firm they work for. They are attracted to each other, but Justin is five years younger than Amy, she's too busy for men, and they work together - she's not going there! Justin reads an email Amy wrote to a friend about a fantasy she has and decides their trip to Hawaii (for business of course) is just the place to fulfill it! This book was very short and very very hot!!!
I really enjoyed this hot erotic novellas from one of my favorite authors. People who are a fan of Jaci's writing will thoroughly enjoy this delicious treat. Definitely for 18+ audience due to the erotic content.
Well, that was fun! I like Jaci Burton's style, her work is hot with heart! This story fit that pattern well. It was short and too simple because of it, but I don't care it was still enjoyable.
Hot, fast, and sexy. Justin's a sweetie, and I loved how he indulged the uptight Amy while at the same time became possessive of her. Yum. Not a ménage ending, FYI.
