People think I'm special because I'm the only girl Ethan hangs out with.
The only one who makes him smile like he used to.
But what they don't realize is it's not enough.
I'm just a young girl to him. His best friend, if you will.
I know I mean a lot to him.
I know Ethan would rather hurt himself than hurt me.
But I also know...Ethan will always love someone else.
Fans of Diana Palmer and Margaret Way are likely to enjoy this steamy, angsty over the top STANDALONE romance.

2 ⭐⭐ - Meh!
=================
Rant...

Weak, moron and cuckold throughout the story is in love with a slut who openly cheats and humiliates him. The woman is always causing scandals and he always comes back to her like a lost puppy. Even the ring was for the bitch. Heroine is totally second best and doormat stupid. And in the end they are all friends ... WTF!

She really was an intriguing little thing, Ethan mused. She was like a little sister he never knew he wanted, and for the rest of the summer, he found himself indulging his explicable whim for her company.

spinning the stool around to have her face him, and that was then she saw the ring he was holding up for her. "Marry me, Guilia."

In the past ten years, it was only Guilia he had fucked, only Guilia he had allowed himself to have sexual thoughts of.

Why must it be now that Ethan found himself in the greatest danger of losing her, if Anah were to discover the truth?

And he had to realize this, only when it might be too late, and Ethan had already done something that might make him lose her for good.

Ethan, Anah, and Guilia having dinner together and all three of them actually looking happy.

2.5 stars - I was really enjoying the angst in this one. I was wondering if I was actually going to be able to give it 4 stars despite the jumbled plot/timeline that I realize is a signature characteristic of this author’s books. (I’ve learned to ignore it and just enjoy the ridiculous ride 😬). Unfortunately, the last 10% brought up the OW drama again and didn’t resolve it in a way that was coherent or satisfying. I am not interested in the hero and heroine staying friends with the slutty selfish cheater who the H was in love with and devoted to for the majority of the book. And I absolutely do not want her POV. His explanation for why he asked that woman to marry him a week before he takes the h’s vCard didn’t make any dang sense. I needed more. I enjoyed his panicked angst, but beyond that I was very upset with the way the OW drama was handled. So it loses 1.5 stars. 🤷🏼‍♀️

3.5* Even for a short read, this started of dire, the writing was choppy, the plot boderline crazy. I was skimming my way to a dnf when it takes a turn into angstville and I couldn't stop reading. I love the unrequited theme, and this truly was that. She pines for him and he only has eyes for ow. I didn't think too badly of her, she was young and she genuinely cared for him. Still a little more pride wouldn't have come amiss. That scene with the ring, had me cringing for her. Unfortunately, as would be the case it's hard to believe she's not his consolation prize and we could have done without the all friends, the ex and us, ending.
Ignore the setting, the billionaires, the hunky town men, all the pheriperal nonsense, they're just noise and focus on the feels for the angst hit.

I might be overdoing it but after being bored to death in the last couple of reads this felt good.

A favourite

I think this is my new favourite of all books written by Marian Tee.

The journey this couple goes on is so full of angst that it can make you cry. But underneath the drama and angst is soft love and romance as they get deeper into their relationship. There is also steam which just enhances the story and shows the dept of their feelings. Such a great story I read in one sitting!

Angst, engaging

I liked the The OW drama. I usually don’t like age gap but there was a reason for that.
The whole setting was not very believable .
I’m not much for the explicit sex. The narration could be better. Overall I enjoyed the book. It was high on angst and engaging.

«I’ll make you even wetter,»

Billionaire Rancher Heartbreaker is a friends to lovers romance and the eighth book in the steamy small-town romance series. This one is about Ethan Blackwood and Anah Blakely. The plot is sweet but turbulent (it almost gave me a heart attack a few times). The story is told in a third person, it has a steady pace with a gradual climax. It’s well written with no grammar or spelling errors. The characters are interesting, I loved Anah but Ethan pissed me off more than once. She was such a cute loving girl who helped everyone. He was an honest and kind man who did dumb things most of the time. My favorite parts were their dates and the ending scene.
I liked this book, I highly recommend it to the adult romance readers and I will rate it with 4.5 stars.

Oh gosh, where do I even begin? ♥️ Ethan and Anah’s lovestory is just... Ughhh! I have no words. It was everything! I’ve been a reader of Marian Tee’s works for so long that I’ve become so familiar with the types of leading men she creates. But Ethan, mygosh! Ethan is a treasure. MUST. PROTECC. HIM. It’s just so refreshing to have a hero who’s not overly cocky and a womanizer. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I still love me some Domenico (Moretti Werewolf series) and Damen (Greek Billionaire series) but with Ethan, you just can’t help but love him. And Anah, our little Anah. If Ethan is a treasure, then this girl is just as precious. 😭 Her love is so pure and so true.

This story will break your heart and will revive it all at once. It was so beautiful that I ugly-cried on the last pages. And ICYDK, ugly-crying is a must when reading Marian Tee books—trust me, it’s a good thing. Lol. Awesome work again, dear author! ♥️🤘🏻

Ethan was the first love of Anah's life, as to say, pure and deep love, everything that she always wanted is Ethan to be happy. Giulia happened first in Ethan's life and capt his heart and he wanted to do the right thing for and with her, even though after sometime, doing right wasn't what made him happy, his hapiness now is Anah.
Like any other book from Marian, I stayed glued to it...I let myself go to the characters mind and soul, felling when they broke and when they return to breath again. Loved it !!

A true love heartbreaking story with a hopeful heroine you love to love

Ethan the , gorgeous, kind but cruel billionaire and Anah , the young , beautiful, nieve ,innocent heroine that has been in love with Ethan since 16 years old Ethan on the other hand has always loved another . This story made me sad, happy, angry and I wanted to shake Ethan to open his eyes and Anah for always putting Ethan's happiness before hers. This was a great story and a great happily ever after.

Anah was a sweetheart who didn't deserve to be treated the Ethan treated her. She worked hard to remain friends even knowing how he felt about Guilia. He needed his head examined for staying in that relationship so long!!! Then he asked Guilia to marry him and immediately started having sex with Anah? He should get a complete med

ical exam before evertouchingher!!! Sorry, but I just don't get it.

Heroine's character in the story as a desperate, pathetic loser who never learns to let go totally comes through. And hero's the sad sob who chose to stay in the toxic relationship where she constantly cheats and flaunts it in his face Coz he "loved her" . Great story!!
Writing is fine, itz the story that's crap.

The Librarian

This was a great story! It was very different from the usual stories I read, but was also a refreshing change of pace. I would highly recommend this book, as the characters were really well developed and the story held your interest throughout! I will definitely read books by this author again.

Heartbreakingly Sweet

This story struck deeply for me. I was almost crying at the end. Marian Tee has a way with word expression that pulls you in and makes you feel everything that her characters are feeling. Loved this book.

Pathetic doormat FMC from the start to the end. No growth or wins for her. Just ends up with old man who issues who loves OW until right at the end.
This series “the rancher” or whatever they have been republished have common themes, none of it good for the FMC

Meh. I would have liked that she was older. She falls in love with him at 16. Their sexual relationship doesn’t start til 19 but it was definitely some groomer vibes in this book.

Had potential

I am not a fan of teenagers being the main characters in adult books so this didn't hit the mark for me. Plus, the storyline kept missing something. The main guy came across as a doormat. Author tried to have him be too many personalities. Most of the book you just wanted the main female character forget him and find a nice teenage boy who would treat her right. But you decide.

This a romance about grooming and pedophilia. In the beginning of the book female lead, Anah, is 16 and the male lead, Ethan, is 25. Per the author’s words, everyone in the town assumes that they are dating because they engage in dating outings together. Everyone knows that she has a crush on him. Not the town, not her friends, and not even her parents intercede or protect her.

At 17 years old, Anah starts having sex with Ethan. What the heck is the author thinking?!

The author also puts Anah in an emotional insecure position AT SIXTEEN/SEVENTEEN to have to manage an emotional relationship with a weak, insensitive male lead who has a girlfriend, but dates and has sex with Anah on the side.

I’ve read a number of books by this writer and I’ve never had the expectation that I need to love every novel from her, but this book was egregious when small changes would have made a huge difference. For example, make her 19 instead of 16. Put her in college and send her away for four years so that she can grown up a bit more. Give her some self respect.

What adult female reader would read this book and not see the wrongness of it? It’s not a romance when all I can see a child being taken advantage of by a man 9 years her senior.

There was so many things wrong with this I won't start. He was in love with Guila, the other woman for 75% of the book. Anah was just a saint for waiting for him. But this book started when she was 16 and the hero was her friend and I don't remember how old he was but he'd been with the ow for 10 years I think it said. She cheated on him constantly and he still had sex with her and still loved her. He even asked her to marry him after he started falling for Anah. He was a horses @$$! I tried to like it but I just didn't. Personal preference is for no OW drama but I didn't realize how bad it would be.
