I help business owners, entrepreneurs, and corporate leaders publish direct-response, short, helpful books so they can differentiate themselves and enhance their authority platform.
The first and the one I resonate with most is the philosophy of small books. I am a big fan of “small” or “micro” stuff.
The second part is the actual process of producing a small book. This is good, if you are looking for that kind of information. But I think it evolves over a period and you need to run some experiments.
The third is the set of stories. They provide some context and are useful but not the essential part of the book.
It is very readable, and I finished it in about 90 minutes, but in two sittings.
It’s just a play on words of things you most likely have already heard like the “big idea” he hawks on is over done, over stated which is why he named this manual a shook which is not a hook IMHO.
Clear, concise and inspiring! A must-read for aspiring authors

He means business and puts that into the simplest yet compelling language. 🔸 This is a classic 'shook' a term coined by Mike for a short helpful book. With a volume of about a 100 pages and a reading time of 90-100 minutes, it's all lean muscle and not an ounce of fat! 🔸 The 100-page book inspires! Yes, I mean exactly that. All I have to say about this book is - right after I finished the second round of reading this book, the next thing I did was boot up my laptop, open the incomplete manuscript of own book and start typing away! Enough said.
All you need to know about this book – of “shook,” as the author calls it – is in the title: The 100-Page Book: The Business Owner’s Guide to Self-Publishing a Short Customer Attraction Book. Author Mike Capuzzi delivers fast-paced, no-nonsense information about how you can leverage your business expertise into writing a short book that will entice potential customers and potentially increase interest and sales.
From finding a topic and your target audience to outlining and writing the book, The 100-Page Book offers excellent advice that any non-fiction writer could apply to writing a succinct book on a single topic that can be read in around an hour or less.
I recommend The 100-Page Book by Mike Capuzzi, and it really did take about an hour to read!
The premise of this book makes perfect sense. Write a 100 page book to highlight 5-7 common questions relating to one’s business. This is then used to drum up more business. Mike Capuzzi shows us how with a formula that is shows how achievable it is. It is really doable.
This book however is a little light on substance. Style-wise, I’ve read better on how to write the book.
But this is an easy, quick read that can help get someone started.
This whole past year, while raising my small business off the ground, I’ve had thoughts and ideas about putting a short book together to help as a “business card” for my business.
Thank you, Mike, for the push that this book of yours turned out to be.
Any self-employed or business owner considering writing a book to possibly advance their business should read this book.
As a publicist who represents many authors, I’ve seen the power behind writing a book. And I suggest to my non-author clients that they too should write their own books on their specialty, talent or business. Mike Capuzzi has done that here and tells you everything you need to know to become a published author and grow your business.
This helped me with a huge dilemma I had regarding my next book. Though I don't know whether or not it will work, I feel excited again about resuming my project. Side note, I was looking for synchrony on my decision and found it when I saw this author used something similar I do. I use the term #bitesizehealing in some of my work.
I sat down and read this book this morning. When I was done I had created an outline for my own shook and had the big idea and the target reader. Locked and loaded! I also signed up for the podcast and downloaded a couple of resources. What more could you ask for, he’s got a template.. use it!
An excellent and in-depth treatment of many things one should do to write and market a short business book, especially as a tool to help drive customers to your small business. I was very impressed by the author's detailed, concise style; he packed a ton of information in a small amount of space, with many links to additional helpful resources. Now I want to write my own 100-page book.
It is a great guide for entrepreneurs and business owners who want to self-publish short and helpful books ("shooks") that consist of practical information to attract potential customers . The book is well structured, includes a lot of practical tips and ideas and I truly enjoyed reading it. Recommended!
Great way to beat the ‘I’ll get to it later’ syndrome
Mike has encapsulated several well know marketing ideas and wrapped then into an easy to digest and understand package. While not totally original Mike has laid out a doable plan for someone who has the urge but not the road map. I am now on my way to a ‘Shook’ Cheers Mike and thanks
Everything this book defines, is exactly what I was looking for in a book. This quick read gets right to the point and get you on your way to writing your short book. I’m on my way!
Such a straightforward and quick read that has encouraged me to consider writing a series of Shook Books too! A must read that will change the way you think about books and growing your business.
...and so I’ve begun my own shook-book and am dedicated to creating it everyday until completion. Mike’s book was the catalytic fire lit beneath my rumpage to get me going.
The 100-Page Book while geared toward business owners certainly has relevance authors in general. It is especially useful if you are looking for alternatives that fit today's changing world and your own unique writing agenda.
I didn't read the whole book, only the parts I needed for the moment. There are a lot of eBooks available along these lines. I've read about 5 of them now. What I liked about the focus on this book was not producing large books which is great for how-to-type books. My focus.
I gave this book the 5 star review because of the simple, easy to follow ways to grow any type of business with these short books. It has convinced me that I should do it for my own new business. Good read. enjoy
This is just like the “Magic of Short Books” that he has just slightly different. Between the two I liked that the other showed the examples of ways to use the short book as a marketing tool. This one had slightly more succinct ideas on the content.
